Even though Pantone's 2017 color of choice was " Greenery", a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade symbolising new beginnings the truth of the matter is, the year felt like it was dedicated to millenial pink. Actually there's never been a year so chromatically in sync with Elle Woods wardrobe - Ever. But, as all Barbie things come to an end, Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year will be "Ultra Violet, a "spiritual, cosmic" purple that "communicates originality ingenuity and visionary thinking that point us toward the future".

Maybe ultra violet is a mature shade of millenial pink? This shade of purple is very reminiscent of late icon Prince and Purple Rain although Pantone's hue is much more brighter and mysterious.

All you’ll be able to fit into a teeny tiny bag are some coins, a key, a credit card and a lipstick if you’re lucky. If you can squeeze in your iPhone- say 6 and up- then it may be too big. And an umbrella, notebook and/or snack is out of the question. But doesn’t that defeat the purpose of a bag- to carry everything we need? Yes it does but these doll-sized accessories are just too adorable not to tote.

Case in point: Rihanna in Barbados last week when she attended her street-naming ceremony. As bright as the superstar’s head-to-toe yellow outfit was, the teeny, tiny bag from Jacquemus (a French brand known for it’s quirky proportion play) was the ladylike touch that made a much bigger statement. Downsizing to these levels was previously reserved for parties and yet the streetstyle set have been showing off shrunken cult styles from Chloé, Fendi, Chanel and more for a few seasons now. If you’ve ever said you weren’t attached your material possessions, here’s a stylish way to prove it.

Rihanna just got so cool she's had a street named after her in Barbados. I mean, who doesn't want to visit Rihanna Drive? To mark the occasion the celebrity was seen in a brash but beautiful yellow with what #Vogue are describing as the world's smallest bags. Whether it is or isn't I love that Rihanna has perfectly coordinators her bag even down do some yellow gold jewellery. The girl looks effortless without looking over the top. This golden goddess is side to keep setting trends.

Rhianna stuns in this yellow dress with loose oversized sleeves, and the small yellow bag is the perfect accessory! With her outfit she has chosen to go with gold accessories, hoops, bracelets and choker, and it is really giving us a Summer vibe, despite the Winter season. Rhianna proves that you can definitely wear the sunny colour during December! #yellow #dress #choker Credit: badgalriri Instagram

Everyone knows my winter uniform boasts a whole load of blocked black, until recently. I've been infusing more and more colour into my winter get ups. Burgandys and khakis are a must and I have now fallen for yellow. Usually I'm drawn to the mustards but I'm loving #AlexaChung in this cornflower yellow. Chung glows in these golden tones, warming winter style. Instagram: Alexa Chung

I love this eye look from NYX! It’s just so simple yet effective! It’s also so easy to recreate for yourself with the right tools and colours. The clashing of the green and yellow pigments add a real depth to the look, which is just so beautiful! #motd #nyxcosmetics #nyx #makeupinspo Photo Credit: @NyxCosmetics

One of my favourite things about winter is fawning over the cosy touches. @SheerLuxe shared this image on their #Instagram of Dalloway Terrace. I love the quintessentially winter greens with yellow fairy lights and pine cones hanging from the ceiling. This is a complete winter wonderland. The blankets dripping from the chairs are a lovely warming touch for guests and the table lanterns finish the outdoor scene perfectly.

It was already behind that that autumn or winter were the saddest seasons of the year. We can always twist that idea thanks to the yellow. The yellow Minion is in every one of the garments and accessories we need. So, we no longer have excuses for not integrating them into our looks. You can give it an original air, elegant style or, stay with an idea of the casual look. Head to our gallery for more inspiration! Credits: Pinterest

@lissyroddyy has quickly become my new Instagram crush. Her feed is covered with outfits I am constantly envying. Alicia is a particular fan of pastel furs many of which are from #Missguided and I've been scrolling their site to try and steal her style. This is one of my favourite looks on Alicia's 'gram. It's entirely #Boohoo and I am in love. The checked suit is fab on top of one of my favourite colours of the season, mustard yellow. Alicia has added a few necklaces and an embellished bag for a touch of glam to a stylish day outfit.

Edward Enninful's first British VOGUE cover was meant to cause attention, to make a clear statement that VOGUE UK is entering a new era, that it will be more inclusive more diversified and less elitist. In his quest for the perfect cover model he unsurprisingly went with British model and feminist activist Adwoa Aboah and for the revolutionary, female empowering and optimistic decade of the 80s in the styling and make up.

Being chosen for the celebration of this transitional era must be a tremendous honour. Aboah has already appeared on the cover of American VOGUE alongside Ashley Graham, Liu Wen, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. She has also been on the cover of VOGUE Italia and i-D. She has an organisation for young women called Gurls Talk tackling issues that she too has suffered like depression and drug addiction.

Her short boyish blonde hairdo speaks volumes of her non-challance and laissez faire attitude. She puts comfort and practicality up in her priority list without compromising her effortless style. From check pant suits, to large yellow aviator glasses, to a pair of simple denim flared trousers, to a black leather dress, her style is unapologetic, dynamic and 100% Adwoa.

A little color blocking don't hurt nobody and i think yellow, is the most suitable color to match with others. As we see in this outfit, the mustard yellow coat pairs perfectly with the navy, light blue and gray tones in the sweater. And in my opinion, yellow also pair well with pink, coral and red. what's your favorite color blocking combo? Photo Credit: fashionista.com #trend #outfit #fashion #streetstyle #fall
