Last week Burberry hosted an event to celebrate the opening of its 'Here We Are' photography exhibition in Paris. The coolest 'it' girls and guys flocked to the private party dressed in their Burberry best. Iris Law looks effortless but stunning in apt Burberry printed culotte-style trousers, a simple piece that she made glam with a waistcoat and red lip. Law proves that evening wear doesn't have to be a 'try-hard' affair. Image: Elle.com

There’s few things worse wardrobe-wise than splashing out on a snazzy winter coat, loving the shape and fit, then realising it offers very little protection against the cold. When you wear it, the biting wind rips straight through you as if the coat wasn’t there; sometimes even faux fur isn’t as warming as it looks. And while layers are the obvious solution, you’d rather freeze than spoil the lines with a bulky knit. Us too which is why the gilet is your saving grace.

Essentially an insulating waistcoat, the gilet is sleeveless and ready to be worn under and over said coat. Quilted, puffa, shearling and more- you can choose how lightweight and streamlined you’d like yours to be in relation. If you don’t want anyone to know it’s there, keep it clean and smooth underneath so everyone’s still admiring your outerwear. But if you’d like to push your coat into warm, trophy territory, a fluffy gilet on top is a detachable, statement-making addition.

Shop our recommended coat + gilet combos in our edit below.

We're gonna "BOW'' for Ayushmann! Hip and trendy, we love how he's mixed a 3-piece with floral plimsoles.

Dress up the humble shoe like he did with a bow-tie and a mono pocket-square. We told you, 'blue is the color to go for', and Ayuhsmann has been spotted in a lot of sky tones recently.

If you haven't invested in this combination, you know NOW is the right time to do it.

BLAZER + JEANS + WAIST-COAT + BOW TIE + FLORAL LOVE = SUPER DAPPER.

All you have to do is shop with our favs for this look and you can't go wrong. Sounds easy? It is!!

The biggest festival in the world kicks off today and as the masses descend on Glasto for another year of raving, drinking, complaining oh and not bathing for five days straight, we take a look back at some of the best celeb styles rocked over the years...

10. Lily Allen: She never disappoints with a wardrobe both classy and trashy. Her coloured hair and Lazy Oaf watermelon shorts were the perfect choice for last year's sun fest.

9. Fearne Cotton: Now a yummy mummy, Fearne's off the wall style made her an icon for teens and twenty-somethings alike. This multicoloured Shrimps scarf? Yeah, a sell out.

8. Florence Welch: Ripped to pieces for replacing the Foo Fighters as the headline act this year, we think she gets a pretty bad rap. Who else could make this hippy look fly? Exactly.

7. Millie Mackintosh: Floral crowns have had their day, but how cute does Millie look here in her khaki jacket and her "I believe in free love" headband?!

6. Alexa Chung: She went all spiritual for Coachella in a floaty lace dress, but Alexa likes to slum it in Hunters and her trusty Barbour wax jacket for the Brit festivals.

5. Daisy Lowe: A lover of lace and leather, Daisy and her fave accessory Nick Grimshaw always make a stylish pair on the muddy fields of Glasto.

4. Rita Ora: Say what you want about this serial boob flasher, she knows how to rock a skintight jumpsuit, feather boa or turban with aplomb.

3. Cressida Bonas: Last year we couldn't get enough of her- dungarees, metallic bomber jackets and endless scrunchies- she was the 'cool princess' in waiting. Alas since the break up, she's gone all upmarket and now has a deal with Mulberry no less. Sad face.

2. Sienna Miller: The great pretender of 2004, Sienna was often compared to Kate, but we loved this dress, belt and neon ski glasses combo she sported in her boho days.

1. Kate Moss: The undisputed Queen of Glasto, only Kate could wear a piece of mesh sans bra with a belt or a waistcoat teamed with denim hot pants and still look incredibly cool.

What an outfit! So chic, so cute, and so incredibly stylish.

By putting together some seemingly random pieces of clothing, our friend above has managed to create a strong outfit that is easy to recreate!

We absolutely love the matching grey skirt and grey handbag, but we think the real star of the show is the blue neck scarf and beige waistcoat combo!

This imaginative outfit is definitely one of the most impressive we've seen this summer, and we recommend you try it out yourself at home!

Conor McGregor is known for three things: his fighting talk, his fighting skills and his fantastic fashion sense.

Here we see Conor put his own spin on the classic three-piece suit, livening up the outfit with a tight haircut and a very impressive watch.

Conor quite smartly goes for a navy waistcoat and trouser match, breaking it up with a crisp white shirt and a subtle tie that draws attention without being too demanding.

What can be said about this garment other than it’s a classic. The tweed waistcoat is a firm favourite among fashion conscious individuals the world over, and it’s not difficult to see why.

A tweed waistcoat is the perfect way to enhance a more casual look without making it too formal, and they go great with plenty of shirt patterns.

Tweed waistcoats work well with dark trousers and black denim. If you’re wearing a tie remember to avoid bold and bright designs.
