Whether you’re at home or on holiday, dressing for summer can be tricky – especially if the temperatures soar. We’re usually happiest in a fail-safe white dress for on and off duty, or this season’s white culottes and a cool camisole.

In fact, wearing light, neutral shades, breezy fabrics and unique silhouettes is the only way to dress in summer if you want to look and feel cool but nailing your summer wardrobe doesn’t stop there.

What about underneath our clothes? The last thing you want is to pair a gorgeous white dress with the wrong underwear or experience a wardrobe malfunction on a summer’s day thanks to ill-matched lingerie.

We looked to a selection of our favourite high-end brands for the perfect bits and pieces to rock under your summer dress or with a pair of linen trousers.

Made from luxe natural fabrics like cotton and silk with delicate lace, pretty detailing these pieces are ideal in light, bright colours and simple silhouettes.

With a ton of styles to suit your body, whatever your shape or size, these picks will help you feel like a million bucks on a warm sunny day...

Travelling out of town for a wedding is always much more exciting then attending a wedding at your local town. However, it requires much more planning that goes along with travel. So after you receive the itinerary complete with all the dates, places and activities it's time to start packing.

When travelling for a fancy event you need to be more involved than you're used to. For example, you have to make room for a variety of extra gear in your luggage.

So, what to pack for a destination wedding?

Hair and Make up

For tip top polished image looks you'll need the entire lot of hair essentials; from curling irons, to hairspray, styling brushes and primers, make sure you have everything you need.

Editors' Tip: Travel size works best. If you're not a fan of carrying a huge amount  of make up products in your bag, pre-plan your make up routine. For example, a long-wearing makeup, a waterproof mascara (especially if you're the emotional type), blotting paper and setting powder, matte lipstick and of course a setting spray that will hold the entire look together.

Extra tip: It's easy to overlook a few vital details such as the proper colored underwear, clutch, jewellery as well as little saviours like travel lint roller, fashion tape and safety pins. Don't forget to store your outfit in your carry on. The last thing your need is to have your luggage lost.

Ready to pack your destination wedding essentials? Scroll down below and shop our Editors' best picks!

The outspoken actress, singer and former Disney star has an impressive roster of movies under her belt such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, "The Greatest Showman" and "Shake It Up". She's not only a huge Hollywood hit but also a style icon in her own right. More than 48.9 million Insta followers get daily inspiration from her American nonchalant fashion sense comprising of trendy daywear and uber glam appearances.

Just this week she traded her actress and songstress title for a fashion editorial role at Boohoo. The end result was The Zendaya Edit: a beautifully arranged selection of athleisure, 90's denim, jumpsuits, cropped tops, slogan tees, pastel hues and bell-bottoms that will infuse that elusive summer relaxed vibe.

After the recent fashion week shows in Paris, we noticed a trend happening in street style that relieves the burdens of a stressful week. What was it? Silk robe coats! What’s more, these luxe pieces were more often than not being paired with a T-shirt and jeans—and it was incredibly cool. This trend follows in the path paved by bralettes, corsets and of course the slip dress being worn out of the bedroom and into broad daylight.

This underwear as outerwear trend or more specifically this private-wear goes public fixation has been taking place for quite a while now. From Madonna's cone bras and corsets to Rihanna's robe or pyjama look. Since now the mere mortals have caught on this seductive trend more designers are producing robes meant both for indoors and at a glamorous party.

From Etro to a plethora of vibrant prints and colours at Roberto Cavalli to botanical garden inspiration at Alberta Ferretti or pure Americana vibes at Elie Saab. Then again you can never go wrong with a Coachella staple: The kimono.

Whatever your style this season have a look at our exclusive edit below and you'll find the perfect cover-up for you!

Happy Valentine’s Day! We hope you’ve got something cool planned, whether you’re marking the occasion with loved ones or by yourself. And your outfit is a big part of that, especially if you plan on showing off what’s underneath or you have a night in and/or naughty weekend ahead. So imagine yourself opening your underwear drawer and taking a peak inside. Will you find lingerie that you feel sexiest in, that flatters your favourite features? Or everyday bras and knickers that don’t necessarily match. To be fair, your man probably won’t care either way if you’re both in the mood, but Valentine’s Day kind of spurs us to make an extra effort. We’re thinking gorgeous lace bras, knickers and bodies in seductive shades like red, black and pink; animal prints and flower embroidery will do the trick as well. Slip into some soft, elegant pyjamas if a film and pizza is more your vibe, ones you could wear out with heels if you wanted to.

Sometimes this can be more of a minefield for men. Heart printed loose boxers are a no brainer if he wears them, ditto red tighty-whities. But do you go down the Borat route with a joke thong or mankini? Depends on his body and sense of humour. Silk is questionable but each to their own, and you can even add a personal message to a pair and get yourself some too. Ask him how he likes his pyjamas to fit and you’ll be golden.

Okay, so the argument goes that Valentine's Day is just a commercial rouse to encourage us to spend money on overpriced flowers and underwear. But hey it's another occasion that involves chocolate and a lot of pink. Millennial pink, as I've discussed in previous looks, is still the colour of the moment. I love this incorporation of millennial pink and glitter (two of my favourite things) in nail art. This is really feminine but the darker glitter and almond file give it a little edge. Another Valentine treat we don't need to spend more money on, but probably will - I for one am not complaining. Image: Elle

We always knew Rita Ora was at least a triple threat and the singer/actress/model (she’s a designer and presenter too) proved it with three on-point outfits in one night as she worked the pre-Grammy party circuit. Which sounds a bit excessive unless you’ve got the world’s most exciting brands at your disposal and fans watching your every move. First up was Ora’s take on the Canadian tuxedo- a denim jacket with denim jeans- which was unbuttoned enough to reveal a lacy black bra underneath. Besides breathing new life into the exposed underwear trend, the white heels she wore with it gave this cool, streetstyle worthy look a ladylike twist. A quick change later and Ora entered full bombshell mode, posing up a storm in a black figure-hugging dress with signature red lips and her blonde locks swept up into a tousled up-do. For her performance and final look, she went for a ruffled pink playsuit and sky high heels as she belted out her songs. Only blingy silver jewellery featured in all three looks.

Kudos to Ora for expressing three different sides of her sartorial personality like a pro and proving that the trick to looking good and feeling great is confidence. It’s good to switch up your look once in a while and she’s clearly comfortable in everything she’s wearing. We can’t wait to see her final turn as Mia Grey in Fifty Shades Freed which is out next month.

Smile and follow her lead by shopping these looks in the gallery above in the expert edits below.

Lingerie has been one of designers favourite items for the past few seasons. 2017 was really the year of the lingerie worn as outerwear. The rise of the bralette during Coachella and the summer months, while wearing slip dresses over white t-shirts became the norm (thank you 90's throwback), corsets were trending like crazy as well as slip dresses worn as the new best party dress of the season.

Now during last Paris Fashion Week, Gigi Hadid appeared in a plunging naked dress while sister Bella appeared in Dior showing off her black strap bra. It seems like the best way to sport the visible underwear trend is by opting for big black knickers just like Bridget Jones would do! Singer Dua Lipa is all about wearing a bra, cropped top or bralette as an actual top.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we wanted to dig up the best trends in lingerie worn in their original fashion too!

Any trend that doesn’t really require ironing gets an extra thumbs up from us. Enter ruching (ruche), defined by Oxford Dictionary as a decorative frill or pleat of fabric, which sometimes has a drawstring attached so you can control and adapt it. You’ll remember the horizontal pleats (creases?) and fabric gatherings that took centre stage on the most memorable dresses in Pretty Women and your favourite ‘80s films. And for good reason because they showed off the wearer’s figure to mouth-opening effect, creating covetable curves. Ruching is one of Dolce & Gabbana’s bombshell signatures, while Kim Kardashian-West wore a sheer ruched minidress to the 2016 VMAs which spawned countless copycats. Balenciaga’s Creative Director Demna Gvasalia has given the technique a revamp, and most importably for our wardrobes, real daytime appeal by using it in his recent collections.

We’re most taken with ruched dresses, rather than tops, because they are winning one-and-done outfits. They’ll help you flaunt the fabulous figure you’ve been honing at the gym in a more notable, fashion-y way than a basic body-con dress. Whether the decorative detail is confined to the bust, employed to whittle your waist like an infinitely more comfortable corset, or all over: modern styles come in all lengths, shapes and colours with barely a whiff of the ‘80s. You can cover up or go sheer (visible underwear is another key micro trend, by the way, that Bella Hadid is owning) and the silhouette created will wow. Perfect, then, for any Valentine’s day dates you'll have coming up; during the day or after dark.

To the untrained eye, these vests look like any other plain basic top. But put one on underneath your winter clothes and step out into the cold and you’ll realise how much warmer you are as a result of heat tech and the special fibres they’re woven from. So why are thermal vests more common place on the ski slopes than in everyday winter attire? Probably because they haven’t quite shaken off their ‘grandma’ reputation, although time are changing now that grandpa sneakers are all the rage.

Bet you’re wondering how to style them and truth be told, it’s much easier than you think given thermal vest are largely black and white. Light and thin enough to wear under everything, the real question is whether you want to show them off or keep them unseen. You can choose from camisole, tank, t-shirt and long-sleeve arm lengths and we’ve put together some outfit ideas below to help get you started. Stock up: it’s likely to get colder from here.

Shop the styles that will slot into your wardrobe most effortlessly from our thermal vest edits below.
