As we're going through the motions in 2018 many are already thinking of a summer holiday resort by the sea in an exotic location or at least enjoying a quick and rejuvenating city break. So you have organised your carry on, and your suitcase you've packed your beauty kit, your casual wear, and your evening wear. But what about your airport outfit? For the longest time celebrity culture has been associated with those glamorous looks snapped in between airport lounges and gates creating a new type of occasion: travel-wear.#000000">

If you're all about unassuming comfort go for Khloe Kardashian's or Nina Kravitz's nonchalant approach. An oversized hoodie, with a pair of black leggings, trainers and sunnies. Don't let the slouchy ease of the outfit fool you. This version is ultra chic especially paired with minimal and fresh-looking makeup.

For a more elegant and classic version follow Victoria Beckham's example and go for a pair of jeans a white crisp open-collar shirt and throw on a long waist-fitting trench coat, and oversized sunnies. Because you just woke up from your long-haul flight beauty sleep.

If you want to make a statement then go for unapologetic bold. Opt for a memorable colour like mustard or violet and pair it with white sneakers a slogan tee and sunglasses. Voila! Airport outfit sorted.

So where are you headed this Spring? Go to our gallery for now for some extra airport style inspiration and then scroll down below to shop your favourite looks!

Nanushka was born in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, more than a decade ago, but is finally getting under the spotlight. If you spend your days cruising on Instagram, you definitely saw the brand's design: maybe a dress, a coat... fashionistas love it! From Song of Style to NYC Bambi, without forgetting the French it-girl Caroline de Maigret, they all wear Nanushka.

It's hard not to fall for its amazing outerwear, their famous lilac wrap dress.

We had the chance to meet Sandra Sandor, the designer behind the brand, during Paris Fashion Week, for an exclusive interview, to chat about the story of the brand and what we should expect in the future.

Shopcade: What brought you to fashion ?

Sandra: Actually, it was a given way for me because my mother was a children's wear designer in the 70s prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. Dressing was always a very important self-expression form for me. I wasn't sure that I wanted to become a designer until the age of 17. Then, I thought that I really want to try to study fashion design and it was very interesting because you know, in Hungary, there is no history in fashion and there aren't many fashion schools. I really wanted to study fashion somewhere where it was very relevant.

After studying in the London College of Fashion, I went back to Budapest were Nanushka began, back in 2006.

How do you define Nanushka's style?

S: We usually think of ourselves as a bridge between intuitive and functional design. The clothes that we will keep loving and will become our wardrobe staples are those in which we really feel comfortable in as well. So, we try to execute this also in the design from the choice of fabric. We try to make everything washable. Nothing gets very wrinkly. It's comfortable wear for every season and good for both seasons. Of course, we do have fur coats for winter, but it has a soft feel.

I don't think trends are ad-hoc things they reflect our surroundings and the people around us. Nanushka, from a design perspective is trying to be relevant for the era we live in.

Where did you draw your inspiration from?

S: My main source of inspiration as a designer it to try to create harmony, while mixing very distant cultural references, like Western with Oriental or Far Eastern. Actually, these two have been permeating through our collections. Sometimes even for three seasons, we kind of have a theme that carries over and we maybe add an extra inspiration. As a designer, I don't want to jump in too quickly. The next season is already coming, but I like to keep the inspiration flowing for longer. Mixing the Wild Western boots with Far Eastern culture has been going since Resort 18, carried over to our SS18. For Pre-Fall 18/19, we added 90s Berlin colors and silhouettes, as well as vegan leathers.

Also, as a general inspiration, the traveling state of mind really inspires me. When you travel, you're very receptive, very open and almost like a child state of mind, and comfort becomes essential.

How do you want women to feel when they wear your clothes?

S: I really want them to feel confident, easy, effortless

Called the label to watch by fashionistas, how do you feel about social media ?

S: Social media really helped us grow. We kind of think of ourselves as a lifestyle brand. We try to make our social media platform a moodboard of our brand and also a source of inspiration. Influencers is our secret in a way. We never pay for partnerships, but we work with influencers who represent our brand values. I think it's important for a brand to give to the right people, no with the biggest followers, because their followers are similar to ours.

What's your favorite piece of the current collection ?

S: From the SS18, our tiger-inspired print made with watercolor painting, and digitally printed on fabric fabric is my favorite. We made a pair of long pants from it called Nevada pants, inspired by pyjama pants from Coco Chanel in the 30s or 40s. She was the first woman to wear pyjama pants as a daily wear I think.

What should we expect for the future collections ?

S: The values and clashing cultures as a source of inspiration will definitely remain, I think it's important to highlight where I come from. Hungary has always been an intersection of East and West. The German Empire had a big effect on us, as well as Turkish culture and the Parisian Belle Epoque. At the turn of the century, travel was open for everyone. Hungarians and artists came to Paris to get some inspiration and change their values etc. So, when you come to Budapest, you'll find a Turkish bath on one side of the street, next to Brutalist buildings on the other side. So it's a mix of cultures.

But going back to how I imagine my future collections, I think we're going to develop, while our core brand values and sources of inspiration remain. And spice it up with the season's trends. A good balance.

If you had to pick only one piece you created, which one would it be?

S: Hard question! But I love outerwear and our brand is really known for that. So I would probably pick a coat, specifically a robe coat.

What are your do's and don'ts when it comes to fashion ?

S: I don't really believe in do's and don'ts. I think you can get away with anything if you put it in the right context.

What is the must-have of every outfit?

S: The right pair of shoes, they define the whole outfit in the end. But I could also say that a good pair of jeans is a must.

some people like to pass under the raider in the airport, so they choose a classic black or navy. And other ones, want to go all out and choose bright colors or patterns. I personally, go with the first option, but I like to give a fun twist to a classic so this white suitcase with matte black accessories really caught my eye! what you guys think! would you pick this kind of suitcase? photo credit: @whowhatwear. #fashion #travel #suitcase #trend

The next months finally graces your agenda, and it is about time to make new enjoyable memories, without breaking the bank. So now you've booked the flights, and can't wait to enjoy your newly reserved Airbnb or hotel room. But, before all of that, you need to go through the tedious task of packing.

The ground rules:

Choose the right partner
When it comes to picking your suitcase or bag, think resistant, lightweight and durable suitcases. This item should be an investment and will follow, we hope, for many, many holidays.

Be weather ready
Check the weather forecast just before leaving. The sunny getaway might transform into a singin’ in the rain weekend, and you want to be ready for it. Always have the unforgettable duo: sunglasses and umbrella in your bag.

Think outfits
Travelling for 3 days is not the same as for a week. Pick pieces from your day wardrobe that can be dressed up or down with accessories and shoes. The floral beach dress with high heels and gold hoops will be perfect for a dinner in town. The black turtleneck paired with a nice pair of trousers and a statement necklace will be the star of the mountain chalet. Worst case scenario, if you really forget something, it is unlikely you can not buy it at your destination.

Toiletry essentials
Do not pack full-sized products. Your favorite products are surely available in a travel-size version. If they are not, buy an empty bottle kit that will comply with airline regulations and fill them up with your beloved beauty products.

It's all about memories
Make durable memories: whether you like drawing, writing or snapping pictures, you can keep your memories in a brand new way. Write a travel journal, sketch the church you like so much, take a polaroid of your love. More than an instant moment, you get the chance to share your holidays with your friends in a very personal way.

Just around Springtime, we all think of a little weekend retreat. It's the perfect way to have some fun and relax without breaking the bank. So now you've booked the flights, and can't wait to enjoy your newly reserved Airbnb or hotel room. But, before all of that, you need to go through the tedious task of packing. Unfortunately, packing for a quick getaway might be more daunting than a longer trip as you have to fit all of your essentials in a small travel bag. In other words, packing smart and making the most out of limited space is of the essence.

Here are the five essentials you'll need for a quick getaway:

CLOTHES

Take advantage of an app like AccuWeather and check the following 7 days. Then, you can plan ahead for the exact outfits you'll need instead of guessing if you'll need a coat for example or a light denim jacket. Open your closet and choose your favourite day and slip dress, shorts, t-shirts, and sleepwear.

SHOES

It's true that many times we tend to pack items that we don't even take out of the suitcase and that usually involves high stilettos that are too uncomfortable for holiday life. Instead, go for a pair of sliders if you're going to a warmer climate or trainers. Try smart pointy flats, ancient Greek sandals or a pair of your comfiest mid-heel ankle boots.

SWIMWEAR

If you are going to a summer holiday resort, you should pack at least two pairs of bathing suits. Try a bikini and a one piece for variety. Pack a sarong wrap or a comfy skirt that you can sport to the nearby cafe after your morning dip.

ACCESSORIES

Regardless of the climate go for a pair of classic black sunnies with a good UV filter, and add a super stylish and practical sunhat. We absolutely love the woven straw sunhat that you can buy upon your arrival. There's no need to pack a hat in a confined space that will only get squashed in the end.

BAGS

As for bags, go for a simple beach bag (the straw version is more classic while you can also go for a plastic edition which is on trend and more waterproof). Pack a small clutch for your evening outings and a cross body bag for sight-seeing and roaming the undiscovered city. Ready to start packing? Shop all of the essentials from our expert edit below!

This is not a drill: new Mansur Gavriel styles have just landed on Mytheresa.com fresh off the runway. ‘See it, love it, buy it’ is usually how it goes with the New York based brand’s It bags and shoes but, as this is the first time their ready-to-wear will be stocked as well, we expect this drop to sell out pronto. There’s no doubt about it anymore, MG is taking over your wardrobe one colourfully minimal piece at a time, and has captured the hearts and wardrobes of stylish women worldwide. From a colour-blocked bucket bag to a full- blown offering of essential knitwear, boardroom-to-bar dresses and more, the now-cult brand’s clean and sophisticated aesthetic stays the same. Everything’s free from surface embellishment, bar their discrete logo, so the impeccable materials and craftsmanship can be admired in all their glory.

We can’t think of a better way to sample 2018’s sweet pastel trend than with Mansur Gavriel’s chic lemon, candy floss pink and lavender basics. Think smooth silk shirts and tops and you definitely won’t be missed in an elegantly sheer layered midi dress, which comes in traffic-stopping red as well as this delicious pink. And why buy another iconic leather bucket alone, available here in new colourways and sizes, when you could broaden your collection with a tote, circle crossbody or even a roomy travel bag in classic and contemporary tones. Let the array of suede, shearling lined, and heeled boots put the spring in your step and you’ll be itching to show off your pedicure in the open-toed mules and sandals as soon as the weather permits.

Check out the collection highlights in the gallery above then shop your favourite styles in the exciting edit below.

As we’re move closer to February, Christmas holidays seem like a distant memory. It’s only natural that we start getting that escapist feeling in order to recharge and reboot. The perfect way to relax without breaking the bank is by organising a short weekend getaway on US soil. With Valentine’s Day coming up you may want to organise a romantic weekend away with your beau or conversely a fun weekend with your  best mates. So get your travel essentials, and prep your carry on we here at Shopcade have prepared a small travel guide with the best cities to visit this winter!

Napa Valley

For your ultimate wine tasting getaway book a room near a vineyard and fully indulge yourself in what the city has to offer:  olive groves, and the Mayacamas Mountains.

Calistoga, California

Looking for a romantic getaway with your significant other? How about a secluded ranch in the middle of California offering plenty of activities outdoors and impressive wooden interiors of a classically crafted lodge.

Connecticut

If you think that romance is dead then how about going to a place where Victorian romanticism and architecture thrive? Yes, we're talking about Connecticut and its offering of 19th century fairytails in the charming seaport village of Mystic, Connecticut.

Twin Farms, Barnard, Vermont

For a truly romantic weekend of yesteryear aesthetic look no further than Vermont. There between the maple and pine trees of Barnard, lies a 18th century  farmhouse that once belonged to Nobel Prize-winning writer Sinclair Lewis. Literary getaway check!

Tennesee

To experience the true farmhouse adventure head to the Great Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. You'll be surprised to find amazing farms with a few sparse bucolic hill cottages and grand, multi-bedroom homes. Fill your days  with pursuits like horseback riding, fly-fishing, and canoeing and enjoy indulgent dinners at the hotel.

Bet you didn’t sleep much last night listening to winds of more than 80 miles an hour batter the country. If you did, lucky you, ditto if you haven’t any morning travel delays due to obstructions on track or road. Waterproof coats and umbrella are worthy weapons against the rain but are much less effective against gale-force winds. You can wave that umbrella goodbye as it turns inside out before flying out of your hand down the street and if your waterproof coat isn’t thick, the wind will probably cut straight through you.

There’s good news and bad news if you want to windproof your wardrobe. The good news is that you probably already have many of the pieces and products, it’s simply a matter of using them when the wind blows in. But be sure to upgrade them where possible for maximum protection and there may be things you hadn’t previously thought of.

Find our best tips and pieces to shop below so you’ll never let the wind spoil your look, skin and lips again!
