There’s only one thing that can ruin a killer summer outfit and that’s uncomfortable shoes. Yep, those sky-high sandals might look incredible but they certainly weren’t made for walking the city’s uneven streets on a hot day.

So what on earth are we supposed to wear when we want to look great and feel comfy?

We looked to a selection of our favourite designer brands for essential summer shoes that both look and feel amazing. Think butter-soft mules with cool block-heel detailing, easy loafers and elevated trainers in statement sunny-weather tones.

You’ll find no stilettos, straps or ultra pointed toes here, just a round up of our favourite low-key and luxurious designs – great for heading to the office and on to dinner, drinks and busy weekend plans.

Browse the edit below for summer shoe heroes from our favourite brands…

It's back. The festival that created its own unique dress code is returning this weekend and if you're one of the lucky show goers we have a few tips for you. Packing for Coachella doesn't have to be a daunting task. You don't need to acquire a Native American headdress to impress. In fact, avoiding fancy dress and going for a chicer approach will make more of a statement. So assuming, you’ve already sorted out your luggage, we’ll help you with the packing.

Do's and don'ts when packing for Coachella…

Don't bring a one-piece

Jumpsuits and bodysuits look cute but they’re a no-no at a festival, as you'll be stuck in long toilet cues and you'll have to change in and out of your one-piece. Instead, go for the simpler version with a bralette, cut-off jean shorts and western-style booties.

Do light layering

Considering you'll be faced with the adverse weather of the desert, see-sawing between high and low degrees it's best to resort to layering. Wear your swimsuit top, with a flowing skirt or denim shorts, your booties and a kimono or denim jacket for after dark.

Do practical bags

Backpacks and cross-body bags are your safest bet come festival season. You can store larger items with ease: say your water bottle, SPF, phone and deodorant while leaving your arms and hands free to fist pump and dance the night away.

Don't do sandals

We know the model pack often strolls the California polo fields in sandals which looks adorable during the day but not so practical during the gigs. Instead, go for cute white sneakers or ankle boots that will elevate your outfit and keep your toes safe at the same time.

Do glitter make up

Add some extra sparkle by adopting the festival look without going full unicorn. Some stick-on gems, glitter eyeshadow and shimmering lip balm will leave you looking fresh and ready to party. Avoid heavy eyeliners and dark eyeshadow as they tend to smudge in the heat.

Editor's Pick: Add a dab of self-tan before you hit the festival for an extra glow. Just remember to wash your hands immediately after applying it and stay away from stain-prone clothing like your whites and crochet bikini tops.

Now you're done and ready to party the weekend away! See you in the fields…

Over the past two rounds of fashion month, one recurring beauty trend we've spotted on the runways are graphic manicures; whether they've been bold and colourful or slick and monochromatic, there's a myriad of ways in which graphic and minimalist nails can be done.

From a dot to a line, a simple detail, this manicure was on every show: Opening Ceremony, Kate Spade, 3.1 Phillip Lim... you name it. Every colour is yours to play with, but our favour goes to black and metallic designs. And no need for a professional, you can try it yourself with a hair pin or pencil point dipped into nail polish before applying it to your nails. This minimal manicure won't let people indifferent.

If you're more into plain colours, this season trend is all about lilac, following the colour of the year Ultra Violet. From head to toes, you can embrace this soft, pastel colour, for a smooth entry into Spring.

And last but not least, metallic and glitter nail polishes are always there to bring some sparkle in your outfit. Shiny and glamorous make-up and outfits should not be limited to Christmas and Red Carpet, everyday should be a party, and that small fantasy will be the trick. And if you don't feel confident enough to rock a full sparkly manicure, an accent nail is an original way to embrace the trend.

We haven't forgotten about nail care either so check out what nail strengtheners and cuticle oils from OPI, Butter London, Nails Inc. and Deborah Lippmann we've lined up too... Shop our edit below!

Take your cue from the priests and grandpas of this world by slipping your socked feet into an open toed sandal. There. How does that feel? Toasty we’d bet. Besides hiding un-manicured toes, or not depending on how sheer your socks are, you’ll be able to walk through winter in your summer sandals doubling their cost-per-wear ratio. And give your feet a breather from boots and sneakers. Street style stars have been doing this for a while and we can’t fault this subversive styling trick.

There is an art to tastefully putting your socks and sandals together though. As a general rule of thumb, the higher the heel, the chicer the feel and what a welcome refresh a coloured pair is for a monochrome look. Match and clash colours and you’ll need to make sure sock and strap thickness is in sync. A super thin strap will only get lost with a chunky sock ruining the effect. And for goodness sake show them off with cropped trousers and calf-hitting hemlines.

The famous Christian Louboutin shoe line is launching four designs in collaboration with the anticipated movie Star Wars: the last Jedi. This is the first look at the shoes, and I love it! Such a beautiful and unique design, it almost looks like the precious stone is floating in the air or your toes, and the only thing that you have is that nice leather strap on the ankle. Definitely an outstanding piece for your wardrobe. Photo Credit: @voguespain on twitter #christianlouboutin #shoes #starwars #fashion #outfit

Contrary to popular belief, socks are not boring or a rubbish male Christmas present. We can see how they got a bad rep, given how practical they are and how plain they used to be, but thankfully that is no longer the case. In fact, as trouser hems have got higher, revealing more than just an ankle bone or slither of calf, they’ve got bolder and brighter. Designers and brands have been letting their imaginations run wild so men can literally dip their toes in colour and print. These new socks are one thing that’s guaranteed to upgrade a grey winter’s day and an otherwise unremarkable look.

Of the sock tribes spotted among the well-dressed men among the streetstyle set and on our morning commute, three stand out. Vivid single shade colour is the minimalist’s choice- adding interest and catching the eye when styled with neutrals and monochrome. And designers socks are a great gateway purchase- hype beasts use them to signal their love for the brand, especially the ones peppered with logos and recognisable motifs. Then there are the maximalists who dive feet first into the rainbow- clashing shades and patterns at will.

It’s simply a matter of taste so shop our edit of the socks worth gifting and adding to your collection below.

We've always encouraged going on more exciting dates dinner and a movie, and we think it's time to amp it up. If you want the mood of your date to be sexy, risqué, and a little brazen, then we have just the date options for you! Read on to see how you can make your Valentine's Day date sensual af:

1) Be a tease:
If you wanna keep your date on your toes all night, you might have to try something a little bold. Put on some sexy lingerie under your outfit, and send him a picture of yourself in it just minutes before you meet. Make sure your date is then in widely public place, maybe even a party with all your friends there. He'll be dying to get you alone all night!

2) Play a game:
Keep things light and playful with a night full of your favourite board games. But then, make the stakes a little more scandalous by turning your game of Uno into a game of strip Uno instead. Trust us, this twist on board game night will bring our a whole new side of your competitiveness.

3) Get dirty before getting clean:
If you really wanna get hot and sweaty with your date, then take your partner for a hot yoga class, or any other workout that you can do together. Then, go back to someone's place and help each other cool off in the shower! Get clean (or get much dirtier) together in the shower, and you might just burn off more calories than you did at the workout!

We think that 2016 was a particularly incredible year for television. With online subscription services such as Netflix becoming internationally available, we have access to anything and everything that is recommended to us. And of course, we have collected the hits for you. If you are looking for a TV show to binge watch through your winter vacation, you're in the right place!

1) Black Mirror
Though this show has been around since 2011, it really made its mark when the third season released on Netflix in October this year. It follows the lives of various people, and how technology manipulates their behaviour. Definitely one to watch ASAP!

2) Atlanta
Donald Glover, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, created and starred in this amazing dramedy series, which released in September this year. It follows the lives of two cousins who are manoeuvring the rap music world in Atlanta, USA. It's only a season long, but don't worry because more is on the way!

3) The Get Down
This one's for the people who need a little music to amp up their television experience. Set in New York City's South Bronx burough in the 70s, the show plays out to music that can only be described as sublime. Added bonus - it's only six episodes long, so you can quickly move on to other shows once you are done!

4) Jane the Virgin
If you need some old school masala in your life, then Jane the Virgin is the perfect show for you! In essence, this show is season after season of romance, laughs, and a whole lot of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. Not to mention, one of our truest loves, Justin Baldoni, is a part of the main cast. Trust us, this is not one to miss.

5) Better Things
A good mom show never failed to make us laugh, and this show is definitely one of those. Comedian Louis C. K. co-created the series following a divorced actress who is struggling to get her life together. Starring the hilarious Pamela Adlon, this show had us rolling on the floor with laughter. Hope you feel the same way!

Kendall and Gigi are the latest models to fall victim to a photoshop fail. Well, photoshop is a fail in itself, but badly done photoshop just highlights the ridiculousness of it all.

W magazine's 10th year anniversary cover, featuring the duo, had a creative and interesting concept of "Placebo Pets". Which is a comment on social media "we created socail media, but then it changed us because we interacted with it. It transformed us and transforms the next thing that happens just by existing. You can't avoid being trained". Pretty cool, right? Yup, until they decided to photoshop Ken and Gigi to such an extent that they no longer have knees. KNEES.

There's unrealistic beauty standards, and then there's no knees/fingers/toes/teeth. FFS. There's just no Knee-d for it (see what I did there? I'll see myself out).

We recently spotted a rather chic accessory on the shoulders of two stylish actresses—tan totes!

Shraddha Kapoor and Neha Dhupia both rocked a tan tote at the airport recently. What we love the most is how differently both the actresses styled the same accessory.

Shraddha went for a casual, sporty look with a white tee, boyfriend jeans, and classic white sneakers.

Neha, on the other hand, went for a chic look with a white shirt, relaxed black pants, and elegant black loafers.

Which one do you like better? Shop both the looks as well as you very own tote in our edit below!

Lunches, dinners, coffee dates, and movie dates are all well and good, until they get boring AF! Living in a city doesn't leave us with many unique date options.

But don't worry—we're here with a list of out-of-the-box date ideas. Who says you have to do the same old stuff in order to spend time with your S.O.? Pick out one of these ideas and have a blast with your special someone.

An amusement park date
Nothing spells out "thrilling" like a day at the amusement park! Enjoy roller coasters and other rides together for maximum fun (Imagica's great for Bombay and Pune peeps, and you can head to Adventure Island if you're from Delhi). Plus, if you plan in advance, you can get some great deals too—so it need not be an expensive day!

A beach date
Sometimes, it's great to ditch the fancy meals and just head to the beach for some quiet time together. Most beaches, though crowded, usually have parts that are more secluded. Walk around with your lover and find a quiet spot to dig your toes into the sand and enjoy the ebb and flow of the ocean.

A city exploration date
Why stay in one place when you can go to many? Make a day out of it—catch random trains to random places, go to places in the city you've always wanted to go to but never gotten around to, enjoy the highlights of your city that you usually take for granted!

Take a class together
Nowadays, you can find a class or workshop for any number of things—yoga, Zumba, Pilates, cooking, photography; you name it and it's there. Pick something neither of you has done before, and go do it together. It'll be a bonding experience of a different kind!
