I have always loved #tartan. There is something about it that is just perfect in winter. It looks and feels cosy in bags, skirts, jackets - tartan works on everything in so many colours. Here Lucy Williams (photo from her Instagram @lucywilliams02) wears a #MatchesFashion bag which works perfectly with her faux fur and knitted polo neck. Winter perfection.

Every part of this outfit is perfect and the colours compliment each other so well. It's the best type of outfit for a chilly night! My next outfit inspo is definitely going to be tartan and denim. #tartan #denim Credit: fhlurs Instagram

I am obsessed with this outfit choice from Faye Ellaby! I love the way she has styled a basic black ensemble with a splash of colour! Aren’t these tartan platforms just incredible?! #ootd #fayeellaby #outfitinspo #blossomsband #AW17 Photo Credit: @fellaby on Twitter

I am all about the #instacrush. Instagram's @tezzamb looks dreamy on the Soho streets here. I love everything about this outfit - the simple shirt with a perfectly coordinated hat before a splattering of pattern. The tartan trousers are completely different to the floral embellished coat but the colours are picked out in her bag and loafers, the perfect pattern clash.

The trench coat, true to namesake, was born in the First World War. Traditionally a khaki green it is now the classic camel that evokes scenes of busy New York streets and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. It truly is a wonderful winter coat. The trench is a perfect addition to any autumn/winter outfit. Gracing our shoulders over dresses or jeans it is also a fashion coat that is quite practical, fending off the seasonal rain. I love that here #VogueSpain have styled the coat with a bold tartan, picking out the lining. Due to its simple nature the coat calls to be accessorised with brash patterns, the ideal base for those accessories magpies Image: Instagram @voguespain

Love it or hate it: this is tartan! I love it girls, it reminds me of Scotland (it’s where it was born) and I love experimenting it through skirts, bags and accessories! #tartan #skirt

It's been another great Fashion month and now with PFW drawing the curtain we can round up the best moments and predict the trends that will inform the next Spring/ Summer season!

OVERALL TONE: GLAMOUR MEETS GLITTER!

We've seen a shift from blunt norm core to glitz and frivolity and after fashion month it's evident that this trend is here to stay. Designers want to celebrate the joy of life during darker times. Dries van Noten dedicated her collection to "The Optimist", who knows how to break the rules. The sneaker gave way to its more glamorous version of the Manolo - as a nod both to the glitz and glam but also to the Carrie Bradshaw look that defined the early 00's resurgence that we're experiencing now. We also saw puffed hemline dresses at Saint Laurent, as director Anthony Vaccarello paid a tribute to Pierre Berge, Yves Saint Lauren't long time business and life partner. The end result was a beautiful show of feathers, frills, shimmer and satin. Alessandro Del' Acqua's creations emphasized on big satin separates and glittery dresses full of bold patterns and colours. At Maison Margiela, John Galliano's version of glitz was crystals, feathers and mirror embellishments on coats and dresses. Makes you want to party no matter what.

PANTSUITS AT CELINE

Tennis Club de Paris: Phoebe Philo showcases a stunning collection at a giant-tent bubble structure while Mary J. Blige's rendition of "You're All I Need", blasted through the speakers. The runway was flocked with extra wearable garments for example oversized suits with large trench coats reminiscent of an 80's power businesswoman. The colour palette was equally 80s scrumptious meaning pistachio pastel pink and fair yellow. Another element introduced by CELINE was extreme fringing on the hem of flapper-style dresses. When it came to accessories the theme was volume: oversize totes, balloon like clutches, big gold buckle belts, and chunky white lace oxfords.

HELEN MIRREN & JANE FONDA at L'Oreal x Balmain

The location was Paris Champs de Elysees and the occasion was the L' Oreal x Balmain fall 2017 collaboration. The show starred an array of stunning models like Doutzeb Kroues and Liya Kebede and two movie icons Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda. Mirren was dresses in a suit a la garconne while whipping her cane around with prolific elegance and confidence. Jane Fonda on the other hand, threw peace signs and really owned the long runway. A true inspiration seeing two ladies well into their 70s (Jane Fonda turns 80 at the end of 2017) strutting their stuff with pride.

VIRGIL ABLOH RECREATES ICONIC DIANA SUITS

More specifically, Abloh took the people's princess most wearable looks as an inspiration board just four weeks after the 20th anniversary of her death. The challenge was to re-invent those items without sacrifising them and coming up with a collection that would be in line with the current fashion climate. The result was briliiantly made tartan suits, graphic prints, prim coctail suits, polished whites, polka dot suits, and pastel coloured numbers.

Shopcade HQ recently spoke to designer, creative director, graphic artist and stylist Himanshu Pal for some much needed creative inspirations. Himanshu also maintains a blog called Inbetween9, which showcases some visually breathtaking projects with an underlying theme of androgyny, gender and design. Not only has he styled these projects, but also created interesting graphics for the same. If you haven't checked out his blog already, it's time you did!

Shopcade HQ (S): Tell us about your personal style.
Himanshu (H): Personal style means fun to me. It is not about looking like another Justin Bieber fan just because I’m a guy, but it is comfortable and includes every thing from women to men's clothing section and obviously being in fashion really helped me discover being myself and not just following androgyny in all black attires or edgy silhouettes.

S: Are you more of a stylist or a designer?
H: I'm more of a designer; but I've always wanted to pursue styling as well, so I did. I'm still at an initial stage and learning so much about design and styling -- it's something I do by maintaining my blog.

S: What's Inbetween9 all about?
H: Inbetween9 is about the excitement of Nowness and everything that happens around me. I deal with challenges in a creative and artistic way on my blog and realism and graphics are things that really drive me. I would not say the theme is only androgyny because I also like to explore other aspects of life.

S: Name a few influential bloggers according to you
H: There's only one -- Leandra Medine of the The Man Repeller

S: Name a designer you would like to have coffee and conversation with and why?
H: Actually there are two -- Victoria Beckham and Tory Burch. What surprises me the most is how these two ladies have built an empire which is fashionable, confident and not like any other clothing house.

S: Must have pieces in one's closet...
H: Oversized crisp white shirt, non-stretch raw denim, cotton shirts and tops for the summer!

S: Your style icon
H: North west! I think she is amazing and no doubt, Leandra Medine is my style mother.

S: Current trend that you love...
H: Vibe of 80's, any given day!

S: Current trend that you hate...
H: Typical athleisure.

S: Raw/undone or picture perfect?
H: Everything has to be effortless for me. We are all so aware these days (all hails to Instagram) that trying hard to look stylish or fashionable for sake of is a passe. Effortless doesn't mean fashion idols in tartan shirt, ripped denims and converse! Fashion has become so cheaply accessible to everyone now at all levels that we can't change but one should know the fine line in between.

S: You're a strong believer of 'clothes don't have a gender'. Please elaborate.
H: It's funny how people pull everything into stereotypes, especially clothes! It's the exact same as stereotypes in other industries. However, I want to remain strong and head out with confidence in whatever I wear! I do get stares every now and then but I don't care so much anymore and I still like to shop in women's section irrespective of what people think or say as no one understands my approach to garments. You will never see me wearing what others think I should wear and I feel very liberal when it comes to fashion. It's all about perspective. We find this thought very inspiring, what about you?
