Dressing chic in winter can be quite a conundrum. So investing in key pieces for winter is essential to maintaining a fashionable and functional winter wardrobe. Case in point: The striped sweater. Ever since French Capri dressing became a vital way of dressing thanks to Coco Chanel the popularity of the striped Bardot shoulder top rose to the top. It's the perfect piece of clothing that you can strategise your winter wardrobe around because it's elegant and very versatile. Here are three ways you can sport it this winter:

Are you searching for an it-pattern for winter 2018? Don’t look further because star pattern is going to be everywhere. Especially on accessories, stars will be a major trend. Channel your inner star with this pattern. Seen in black & white, this pattern is best combined with bold and bright colours. Try out wearing a red cozy sweater and star patterned scarf, you’ll be the eye-catcher this season. #star #pattern #starpattern #trend #winter #winterfashion #fashion

What a cool look from Miss Amy Valentine! I love this girl’s style so much, she always seems to wear incredible outfits on a daily basis! This is one of my recent favourites - I adore the combination of a sweater style dress with knee highs, so cute! #ootd #bloggerinspo #fashion #amyvalentine Photo Credit: @amyvalentinex on Twitter

Hi dad! Are you looking for your sweater? I’m sorry but its mine now! Dad style is a trend now. Dad sneakers, dad sweaters… Don’t underestimate them, this season dads are our trendsetters. This half buttoned knitwear is trending on social media as bloggers embrace this style. Very used to of seeing my dad opt for many colours of this sweater, I’ve seen womenswear collections replicate this style. I couldn’t help but try out this ‘soon-to-become-popular’ trend. Marks & Spencers, Ralph Lauren, and especially J.W. Anderson for Uniqlo has options for you to try. My dad gifted me one after being scared of his sweaters disappearing day by day… #uniqlo #marksandspencers #ralphlauren #dad #dadstyle #dadfashion #trend #sweater #knitwear #menswear

It's finally the season of mulled wine and fairy lights, aka. the best month of the year. This means dressing for the occasion. There's nothing like the classic Christmas jumper. Adorned in Christmas trees, snowmen and thick knits to get cosy in, this is the epitome of December clothing. The sweatshirt shown is @teetsparis (image Instagram), I think this is insanely cute but I'll also be checking out #Topshop and #ASOS.

Christmas parties at work can be somewhat complicated regarding style. You look divided between looking professional, wearing the worst ugly sweater you have in the closet or throwing the house out the window and appearing in the office as if you were Paris Hilton in her best years. Do not lose your head! Here we give you options of looks to be the queen of the day without crossing dangerous stylistic limits.Have a look at our gallery for more inspiration! Credits: ManRepeller

Metallic shoes are everywhere. I don’t know what’s happening in fashion but everyone wants to stand out. And metallic shoes are just the right item to be under the spotlight. Try to opt for jeans and oversize sweater to complete your look. #oversizeknits #metallicshoes #trend
