We're just a hop away from Easter and even though you wouldn't necessarily associate the holiday with fashion there are definitely a few outfits that can be absolute sartorial lifesavers during the long weekend. Whether you're spending your time with your beau on an exotic destination, having a cool getaway with friends or catching up with friends and family for a relaxing holiday back home here are a few of the trends you can try this Season:

Egg Hunt Chic

You can't possibly without a basket bag. Thankfully one of the biggest trends of the season is the wicker bag. Pair your stylish wicker accessory with a floral spring dress, hair accessories, comfy sandals and a leather jacket for chilly weather.

Family Dinner

For a family dinner opt for comfortable elegance. Go for a Victorian-inspired dress with comfy ankle boots a blanket scarf and an oversized bag to store all that takeaway Easter chocolate.

Couple Time

For a quality time abroad with your loved one choose an outfit that is chic yet practical. Take Zendaya's example and go for oversized tent pants paired with a matching crop top and sandals. Finish your look with a bold red lip and an essentials-only clutch.

Friends Getaway

For a quick Spring break weekend with your best mates, choose an outfit that allows you to enjoy your time without compromising your style. Try the embellished sneaker trend and mix it with an LBD some glitter makeup and a cross body bag that frees your arms for fist-pumping and dancing all night long.

How will you be spending this Easter holiday? Shop your essentials from our expert edit below!

Never mind the Balenciaga ‘Triple S’ trainers, which are sold out everywhere. Consider this: would your Dad actually wear them? Because that’s the criteria all so-called ‘Dad’ trainers (or even Grandpa trainers) should be judged by and we’re not sure that the streetstyle favourites previously mentioned fit the bill. After all, there’s nothing understated about them, they’re chunky, and truth be told,  they probably fit into the ‘ugly’ sneaker trend just as well. But besides the 80s and 90s nostalgia of them, they are undeniably comfortable and an delightfully subversive addition to a dress that will garner compliments.

So if your Dad won’t wear those, what will he wear? We’re imagining simple, and most importantly, unisex styles so you can give the phrase ‘Daddy’s girl’ a sartorial twist with a matching pair of your own. Like the ever popular Stan Smiths that Phoebe Philo chicly revived which were named after the male American tennis player of the same name; or the Gazelles creative types seem to wear uniformly in their favourite or most versatile colour. And speaking of versatility, a neutral colour palette will maximise wearability. And if your Dad, like mine, wouldn’t be seen dead in a pair of sneakers; wear the trend in his honour.

We’re definitely on board with British Vogue’s view that Valentine’s day gifts should probably be doubled up this year. And to compliment delicious chocolates or a beautiful bouquet, we’d recommend a fashion gift. Nothing too full-blown like a dress mind, this isn’t an anniversary or birthday; just a thoughtful, chicly thematic token they’ll love that reflects their taste and, if you’re really on it, current trends. Red and pink, together and separately, is so hot right now and forward-thinking heart motifs are all the rage.

Find out their shoe size in advance if you’re going for a sexy heel, fancy flat, shearling slide or heart-stamped sneaker they’ll open in delight and step straight into, whether you’re venturing out or staying in. An adorable knit that they’ll be able to wear to work and on the weekends without messing a beat is just the ticket too as it’s still pretty cold. And a new statement bag that they can use for special occasions (and showing off) is a great idea, especially with Lulu Guinness’ cult lip clutches available in so many colours. Sunglasses are now all year round essentials made charming with heart-shaped frames (which suit every face shape) and you can literally give them your heart- symbolically of course-with a key ring or bag charm.

Get your skates on and shop our edit below. Or feel free to forward this to whoever's getting your gift as there’s only a week to go!

Wondering what the next thing will be in fashion? They are definitely Chanel’s “dad” sneakers. Are you surprised that Chanel hopped on the dad sneaker trend! Don’t be because you’ll be seeing these kicks everywhere. Shown at the Spring Summer 2018 show, these sneakers come in red, orange, pink or blue details, high or low top. Sneakers are probably the it-shoe of the era and when they are Chanel… They are extra extra extra cool! #sneakers #Chanel #trend #dadsneaker #spring #streetstyle #style

When comfort meets style we all gasp with excitement and relief! One of those chic combinations is the undeniable allure of wearing dresses with trainers. This trend started a few seasons ago and it shows no signs of slowing down. If you simply scroll on your Insta you'll find more than a few influencers sporting their favourite sneaker with a dress. If you're still unsure of how to wear the trend, fear not we have you covered!

Take notes from Lilly Allen, circa 2006 and wear your favourite tennis sneakers with a full tulle skirt or dress. Add a hair bow for effect!

One of the biggest pattern trends of 2018 is polka dots. So why not get your fave polka dot dress out of the closet and wear it with a chunky pair of "ugly" dad sneakers.

Mix and Match. Go for a velvet floral number which is quite chic and evening and sport it with basic grey trainers to create a well- balanced outfit.

Go for Bold. Try an ultraviolet (pantone colour of the year) dress and pair it with an equally vavavoom shade on your sneakers like mustard or blue. The end result is pure confidence.

Thankfully the Nike Air Max 97s popped up on our feed just as we were ready to move on from the still great but pretty ubiquitous Vans ‘Old Skool’ monochrome sneakers. Sleek, futuristic, and inspired by Japanese bullet trains, the sneaker style made a massive comeback in 2017 20 years on, in colourways ranging from classic black and white, to metallics, pastels and triple tones. Grime artist Skepta even dropped his own in collaboration with Nike and women have really lead the charge by styling theirs in fresh and unexpected ways we’re dying to recreate.

Model Paloma Elsesser teamed hers with trackies, WAH Nails creator Sharmadean Reid wore them with a bohemian-ish midi dress, while The Working Women’s Club founder Phoebe Lovatt paired hers with white jeans. Never mind the countless hypebaes, sneakerheads and streetstyle stars who have proved how great they look laced up with printed trousers, mini dresses and more. Proof, if you needed more, that ’90s style brought bang up to date is still going strong and these are the ultra-cool alternative to any other shoe: even on a night out. What’s even better is that these styles are still kind of semi-exclusive so not everyone is wearing them.

I tried wearing red head to toe for a day. And it was so much fun. Red is one of my favourite colours so the all-red trend of this season was the most beneficial for me. Everyone was turnig their heads to see my look (maybe because it was too od but still I can say I turned heads!) I opted for a different cokour sneaker to break the huge blob of red but I still got compliments on my bravery. As a fashion student studying in a school of people wearing black from head to toe, red was quite a statement. I loved this trend and I think I will be doing it even when it is out of fashion! #red #trend #headtotoe #allred #headtotoered #fashion #streetstyle

It's quite amazing that a trend which quite evocately carries the name 'ugly' in its description can have such an amazing popularity amongst the fashion pack. True, the admittedly ugly trainer is back with a vengeance staught from the guts of any self-respecting 80's movie. From the Breakfast Club to E.T and Back to the Future you must have caught a tv glimpse of that unmistakable chunky big trainer usually a bit worn out, sometimes with bold colourful leashes and in grey tones.

This time, the big difference is that in complete juxtaposition to its normally ugly demeanor, it's being styled with historically proclaimed 'girly' paraphernalia. From puffer skirts, romantic dresses, to your usual everyday business suit and skirt. All the major fashion influencers from Mariannα The Moss to Leandra Medine, Marianne Theodorsen and Pandora Sykes are sporting the trend with unexpected items like luxe vinyl trench coats or smart casual attire.

Invest now in a pair of 'ugly' trainers and immediately amp up your style without changing a thing in your normal wardrobe! Check out our gallery for more inspiration and shop your favourite styles from our exclusive edit below!
