Gadgets and their accessories are often expensive and therefore perfect wish list fodder, which is why everyone becomes a bit of a techie come Christmas. After all, there’s no better time to upgrade your headphones, replace your laptop/cables, or finally order the games console + games you’ve been eyeing up all year with so many unmissable deals around. You can even personalise the electronics you already have with covers and coloured keys, find gloves to wear while using your touchscreen, and getting one of those phone cases with an added battery is a no brainer and lifesaver for anyone constantly running out of juice.

With notable technological advances this year from new phones from Apple and Google with superior features, to Amazon’s intelligent personal assistant Echo aka Alexa, and ultra-stylish smart watches, shop them while they’re new and hot because they’ll only make life more efficient. Whether you’re gifting your loved ones or yourself, think about which gadgets would be most useful and prioritise your purchases that way.

Our expert edit below is a fab place to start!

It's a well known fact that even if you are one of those people that the world wellness and healthy eating make you cringe. But, after the holidays and for the first few weeks of the new year we all turn into wellness junkies. "This is the year I'll lose the love handles or this is the year I'll reduce my gluten intake and up my hours at the gym", we tell ourselves. That self-righteous health nut voice is probably our own consciousness but also it's that friend -  the year long wellness fanatic who releases more happy hormones whilst running than eating chocolate.

So this list is dedicated to them and to our January resolution self. We've compiled the most comprehensive list that includes athletic gear, crystal healing books, recipes, and beauty products.

The London Marathon took place last Sunday and there’s something about it that makes us feel inspired… Could this be the moment we finally take up running?

Whether it’s because your friend who was always last in gym class managed to finish the race, or because your cousin raised over a thousand pounds or even because you heard about the 23 year-old club runner who finished first of all British runners and automatically qualified for the 2017 World Championships, there’s probably a part of you that wishes you had done it as well.

Of course, we don’t expect you to sign up for a marathon immediately, but here are a few tips on how to take up running:

Start with walking. This is mostly to avoid any injuries if your body isn’t used to running. If you start doing too much too soon, chances are you’ll get shin splints or knee injuries and then you’ll have to take a break from running which would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it? Experts usually recommend starting with a fixed ratio, like running 2min for every 5min walked, so find the one for you and stick to it.

Listen to your body. When you take up running, you should definitely feel some muscle pain, because your body isn’t used to it. But it’s important that you don’t ignore more severe pains and adjust your running accordingly.

Stay hydrated. It might be a good idea to bring a water bottle the first few times you go out on a run because it’s very important to stay hydrated.

Eat more. Your body is going to work harder than usual so you should make sure you increase your food intake. Eat carbohydrates to give your body more energy, and get some protein to help your body recover after the effort.

Get appropriate running gear. Not only will having a nice outfit motivate you to get out there, you will also run better if you have the right clothes. Some accessories are also worth investing in like a running watch if you’re not running outdoors so you can keep track of your pace and the distance you’ve run.

Make a good playlist. There is nothing more motivating than a good song, and with the right playlist you will probably end up surprising yourself.

Find the right route. Unless you’re running on a treadmill, a great part of running is that you can explore the outdoors. Try finding a park nearby so you don’t have to constantly wait at crossings or bump into people, and try switching up your routes to keep it interesting! Now all you need to do is start…

Ayez un but

Fashion week peaks over Saturday and Sunday and we all get consumed by the mania. Over the weekend, myself and the French Shopcade Editor went to a whopping 20 shows/presentations. Running from BFC to Freemasons hall, we navigated our way through the protests- PETA were campaigning outside the venues on both days.

On Saturday our favourite shows were Ashley Isham, which always gives us serious Club Tropicana vibes and Han Wen, where the 80s punk vibes caught our eye.

On Sunday the highlights included Jamie We Huang (swoon over those shoes). Pam Hogg, like every season, stole the show- Fearne Cotton and Alice Dellal walked, and accompanied the designer for the finale, where they scattered rose petals on the audience. Then, in a quick dash across London, we went to the David Koma show. It couldn't have been more different from Pam Hogg, but was equally as breathtaking. You know it's going to be a good collection when Olivia Palermo sits FROW.

Scroll the gallery above to see our fave moments, and make sure to keep up with us on social media for more insights...
