The London Marathon took place last Sunday and there’s something about it that makes us feel inspired… Could this be the moment we finally take up running?

Whether it’s because your friend who was always last in gym class managed to finish the race, or because your cousin raised over a thousand pounds or even because you heard about the 23 year-old club runner who finished first of all British runners and automatically qualified for the 2017 World Championships, there’s probably a part of you that wishes you had done it as well.

Of course, we don’t expect you to sign up for a marathon immediately, but here are a few tips on how to take up running:

Start with walking. This is mostly to avoid any injuries if your body isn’t used to running. If you start doing too much too soon, chances are you’ll get shin splints or knee injuries and then you’ll have to take a break from running which would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it? Experts usually recommend starting with a fixed ratio, like running 2min for every 5min walked, so find the one for you and stick to it.

Listen to your body. When you take up running, you should definitely feel some muscle pain, because your body isn’t used to it. But it’s important that you don’t ignore more severe pains and adjust your running accordingly.

Stay hydrated. It might be a good idea to bring a water bottle the first few times you go out on a run because it’s very important to stay hydrated.

Eat more. Your body is going to work harder than usual so you should make sure you increase your food intake. Eat carbohydrates to give your body more energy, and get some protein to help your body recover after the effort.

Get appropriate running gear. Not only will having a nice outfit motivate you to get out there, you will also run better if you have the right clothes. Some accessories are also worth investing in like a running watch if you’re not running outdoors so you can keep track of your pace and the distance you’ve run.

Make a good playlist. There is nothing more motivating than a good song, and with the right playlist you will probably end up surprising yourself.

Find the right route. Unless you’re running on a treadmill, a great part of running is that you can explore the outdoors. Try finding a park nearby so you don’t have to constantly wait at crossings or bump into people, and try switching up your routes to keep it interesting! Now all you need to do is start…

Ayez un but

Fashion week peaks over Saturday and Sunday and we all get consumed by the mania. Over the weekend, myself and the French Shopcade Editor went to a whopping 20 shows/presentations. Running from BFC to Freemasons hall, we navigated our way through the protests- PETA were campaigning outside the venues on both days.

On Saturday our favourite shows were Ashley Isham, which always gives us serious Club Tropicana vibes and Han Wen, where the 80s punk vibes caught our eye.

On Sunday the highlights included Jamie We Huang (swoon over those shoes). Pam Hogg, like every season, stole the show- Fearne Cotton and Alice Dellal walked, and accompanied the designer for the finale, where they scattered rose petals on the audience. Then, in a quick dash across London, we went to the David Koma show. It couldn't have been more different from Pam Hogg, but was equally as breathtaking. You know it's going to be a good collection when Olivia Palermo sits FROW.

Scroll the gallery above to see our fave moments, and make sure to keep up with us on social media for more insights...

LFW is the fashion industry's favourite week of the year, but it is also the most frantic and exhausting. This combination of too much caffeine, not enough sleep, heels, queuing and dashing between shows means that Editors across the board have a lot of funny anecdotes. It's chaos. Often fun, glamorous chaos. Often not. It's not actually possible for Editors to be in five places at once, if we could we would. So this results in frantically running around Soho whilst trying to Snapchat, Instagram and write reports. While also trying to not be caught red face and puffing by street style photographers.

1. “Once, a colleague and I were queueing in the rain for a show that was running 40 minutes late. A faux fur clad lady in pointed satin slingbacks toting a mock croc handbag introduced herself to us as a freelance stylist and proceeded to regale us with tales about her assistant’s ability to worm her way backstage at any show. We swapped cards and later that evening, came across said stylist inside the show venue, crying as she sat on the steps of the main staircase.

She explained that she’d promised a PR contact she’d be at the show just gone but was refused entry on grounds that she was late and they were over capacity. She tearfully pleaded with us to send her photos of the show we’d snapped so she could pretend she’d been in attendance. We offered some kind words and sent her a couple of sub-par images but despite explaining that her PR contact probably [actually, MOST DEFINITELY] wouldn’t care she hadn’t made it, her tears ceased to flow the moment she downloaded the pictures.

Pawing at her tear-streaked mascara, she suddenly stood upright at the arrival of her photographer beau, with whom she invited us to attend an after party. We politely declined and made our own way to dinner."

2. "What really annoys me are girls who have seats look at you like you're a peasant when you ask them to move up. You don't own the row of chairs"

3. "Every PR contact you've ever had will suddenly become your BFF. That woman you met once 2 years ago will send you five emails a day calling you 'babes' and saying how much they want to 'catch up'. You know they are just trying to fill out their event, but you go along with it because you know, goodie bags"

4. "Back in the days when I was an editor's assistant, she'd make me call around and plea for her to be seated on the FROW otherwise she wouldn't attend. It was very embarrassing, particularly because she wasn't as important as she liked to think. Very awks."

5. "A friend of mine had handed her business card to a woman, and they had a chat about which shows they were going to attend. When my friend was told for the second time that she had already checked in somewhere she asked them to describe what the person looked like and pieced it together. This woman had been using my friend's business card to get into shows! Note to self: don't trust anyone, fashionistas can be cut throat".

6) “While interning many LFW seasons ago, a friend and I were given two invites to attend a show for a well-known designer by our supervisor. Given that we were industry nobodies, we were unabashed at forcing our way through the crowds and plopped ourselves down in the second row so as to be on the receiving end of what appeared to be a substantial goodie bag.

The goodie bag was substantial indeed. And while there were no new season sunglasses or iPods (goodie bags post 2010 just don’t compete), a vibrant embossed cushion featuring the fashion house’s name pleased us to no end. Squealing with delight, we plotted how to nab a few more of them before leaving.

Those around us glanced our way with disapproving glares as we shoved cushions left, right, and centre into our tote bags from the empty chairs beside us (apparently, it’s FROW or nothing for some). Escaping from the clutches of any hawk-eyed PRs, we left quietly into the night. Months later, we saw the same embossed cushion being sold on eBay. If only we hadn’t grown attached to them in our shared flats…"

7) "There are so many crazy things I've witnessed at fashion week, but one that stands out is when a brawl almost started. If you're late to a show, you expect to stand as your seat has probably been taken. Some girls didn't take too well to this and began shoving the people in front of them, so they could see better (or, in other words, take better Instagram pics). This escalated as the girls in front, quite understandably, didn't like getting elbowed in the back. Security had to come over and ask them to calm it."

Kim Kardashian was the victim of a robbery in Paris back in October, and only now has the police report been released. The first-hand account of what Kim told the police is just as scary and harrowing as we imagined...

French Police Report Monday, October 3, 2016 04.30 A.M.

"My name is Kardashian Kimberley. I was born on October 21, 1980, in Los Angeles. I live in Ventura, XXX My phones have been stolen and I can be reached through my bodyguard Mr. XXX.

Regarding the facts :

I came in Paris by plane for the fashion week. I came back around 12 midnight to go to bed. I was attending a fashion diner. I came back with Simone Harouche and my sister Kourtney. We all moved up in my room 1A and friends, a couple, went to my room and left around 01.00 A.M. I have to make it clear that Simone hadn’t come with us and that she was sleeping when I came back. My assistant Stéphanie and my sister Kourtney changed clothes.

Then, I went to my computer upstairs and I worked. I heard noises at the door, like footsteps, and I asked shouting who was there, no one answered. I called at 02.56 A.M. my bodyguard. I saw through the sliding door two persons coming, plus the man of the reception who was strapped. The two men were hooded, the one had a ski mask and he had a cap and a jacket with Police written on it. The second individual had the same clothes Police but didn’t wear ski goggles. The individual with the ski goggles rips out my Blackberry phone The one with the ski goggles was 1,70 meters high, slim, black pants, black boots, he spoke to me in French. He was a European-type individual. The second individual was also European, he was taller and stayed with the security agent. He was around 1,80 meters high and he was dressed in the same way. It’s the one with the ski goggles who stayed with me. He asked me with a strong French accent where was my ring. It was placed on the bedside table. It costs 4 million dollars. I answer him that I don’t know, he takes out a weapon and I show him the ring. He pointed the weapon toward me. He takes the ring, he wears gloves. He asked me where the jewels and the money are.

They catched me and took me in the lobby. I was wearing a bathrobe, naked underneath. Then we went in the room again and they pushed me on the bed. And, at this time, they strapped me with plastic cables and tape on my hands, then they taped my mouth and my legs. They carried me in my bathroom, more specifically in my bathtub.

I forgot to tell you that when they pushed me on the bed, they headed toward my handbag and they cleared everything. I don’t know if they took something inside. My Vuitton jewelry box was near my bag and at that time, he said something to the other individual, shouting. In my jewelry box, there were two bracelets by Cartier, all with diamonds, a necklace by Jacob all in gold and diamond, diamond earrings by Lauren Schwartz, and the other was by Yanina. There were three necklaces by Jacob all in gold, little bracelets, jewels, rings. A necklace by Lauren Schwartz all in diamonds, another necklace with six little diamonds on it. A last necklace with my son’s name (Saint) all in diamond. I also had just a cross-shaped diamond, by Jacob. A watch by Rolex all in yellow gold. There were two rings in yellow gold. I think they robbed me for 5 million dollars. They didn’t rob my cash. They robbed me an iPhone 6, which call number is XXXXX and the Blackberry call number.

Then they left, running. During the heist, they had the hotel’s mobile phone which didn’t stop ringing and they were speaking in French. I thought they said they got to leave. Then, I removed the tape from my hands and my mouth, I removed the plastic. I realized they were a bit young because of the way they strapped me. I removed the tape on my legs. I kept a tape around my leg and run to Simone’s room. Then I called my sister Kourtney with Simone’s phone. Simone called her bodyguard because she was hearing some noise."

Question : Would you be able to recognize them? Answer : Maybe the smaller one with ski goggles but not sure.

Question : Are-you injured? Answer : No.

Question : Would you like to file a complaint? Answer : Yes, I would like to file a complaint.

Question : Do you have something else to add? Answer : I would like to leave and to go back to my children in the United States. A private plane is waiting for me at the Bourget.

After reading done by M. XXXX, Madam Kardashian Kim persists and signs with us the present. It is half past five in the morning.

The short haired look has been on trend throughout 2016, where multiple celebs and YouTubers have ditched their long locks for a short cropped do. But with short hair comes the struggle of styling it, which can get a little monotonous. So of course we turned to the celeb world for help, where some of our faves show us how they care for and style their short tresses. Read on for some celeb inspired ways to style your hair!

a) Run a curler through it:
Emily Ratajkowski flaunted her new short hairdo at the Golden Globes this year, and we thought she had it styled perfectly! Just like her, you can add some dimension to your hair with some loosely defined curls. This style tends to hold for longer, and looks nicer as it loosens up over the days! Don't forget to add some hairspray so it holds in place.

b) Mess it up:
Kaley Cuoco chopped off her hair earlier in 2016 as well, and soon began to flaunt some adorably messy waves in her hair on the red carpet. If you want the look for yourself, try spraying some slat spray into your hair before scrunching it up lightly in your hands. You'll be left with undefined and messy waves, giving your look a more chilled out vibe.

c) Try an upto:
With short hair, putting your hair up is a very quick and easy option for you. Try a braided updo like Julianne Hough, which will add a touch of glam to any outfit or makeup looks! Smooth down any flyaway hairs by spraying hairspray on an old toothbrush and running it over them. We assure you, this trick will have you looking put together through the day!
