September is #selfimprovement month and no wonder the hashtag's already trending. At this time of year we're usually throwing ourselves into that 'new start, new season, new me' mindset. Because let's face it, we probably didn't keep all the resolutions we made in January so we at least deserve another shot...

Now if you know anything about self improvement you'll know it's not about being negative or being hard on yourself for failing to change, it's about baby steps, tiny wins and good vibes.

Self improvement starts with self care so we've put together a few handy tips to help you kickstart your self improvement journey. September's a good a time as any to start something, right?

Take time for yourself

It's easy to feel like things will never change if you feel as though you're always running around after other people. Take a night off, spend a weekend with your loved ones or just indulge in some alone time to focus on your thoughts and quiet your mind.

Get more sleep

Sleep is essential for our health. A proper night's sleep helps our brains and bodies to properly recharge so we can do our best mental and physical work during the day. Try and set yourself the task of having earlier nights this month and if you find it hard to drop off, try a little aromatherapy with candles, pillow sprays, diffusers and essential oils.

Write down your goals

Writing down what you want to change and how you want to do it can really help to visualise and focus on your short-term and long-term self improvement goals.

Practice happiness

Take a little time to do things that make you feel good, like going for a long walk, taking a relaxing bath with a facemask on or listening to an inspiring podcast. Doing little things like this for yourself will help with cultivating a positive mindset and if you feel positive, the sky's the limit.

January means resolutions, plans and hopes for a more productive and successful new year, regardless of our individual definition of success. The old Greek proverb goes "A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body", so this month we're going to help you tackle the "body" part and the mind subsequently by giving detox a go.

There's no better time for a detox than January. After weeks of festivities numerous delicacies and alcohol, the body needs to recharge and reboot. We're not going to bother you with complex recipes and food plans that take hours of preparation and shopping. Instead, we're going to give you a list, of things to avoid for the month of January.

Without further ado, here's what you need to keep out of your diet for at least two weeks:
Caffeine, Alcohol, Dairy, Gluten, Corn, Soy, Refined Sugar, Shellfish, Tomatoes, Potatoes, White Rice and Eggs.

Add a ten-minute meditation to your morning routine and a commitment to an easy exercise plan even if it's choosing to walk instead of taking the car to work.

In our shopping edit below you'll find a great selection of recipe books with easy-to-do meals for every day. Happy January!

The year begins and with it the purposes we want to fulfil. We already know that we should not think of impossibilities, but of things that we can carry out. In the field of beauty, there are some purposes that we can meet and that are very important to end the year much better. Like, to hydrate daily, use sunscreen, use makeup remover, among others.Credits: Pinterest

Christmas time is a great excuse to overindulge. It's the one time of year when it's completely acceptable to have mince pies and prosecco before 10am. After a week of eating everything sweet, laced in butter and full of preservatives, drinking all the eggnog, mulled wine and champagne, we're all in need of a serious health kick. But where to start? Follow our handy guide below...

1. Set Realistic Resolutions

New Year's resolutions that are farfetched, like losing three stone in a few months or completely changing your diet, set you up for failure. Instead, set yourself smaller goals that are easier to accomplish, then build on them. Signing up to two yoga classes a week, drinking 1 litre more of water a day, eating your 5 a day.- you get the picture.

2. Try A New Sport

A good way to motivate yourself is to find something that's new, exciting and fun- slogging back to your usual gym routine won't give you that much needed post-Christmas buzz. Why no try Pure Barre, Zumba, kickboxing, step aerobics, basketball- the list is endless!

3. Focus On Your Mental Health, Too

A health kick means everything, not just physical. You won't be in a good place physically if you aren't mentally and vice versa. Christmas can send our mental heath into overdrive- the stress, hectic schedules and alcohol can be damaging. Recenter and focus on yourself, why not try an app like Headspace? It's great for giving you a few minuets of calm each day. A new year is a great time to reprioritise- put yourself first, open up to loved ones, get out of damaging situations. These are all easier said than done, I know, but setting goals is a good start.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

We've been following the heartbreakingly messy divorce between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard for months, from the first claims to the settlement. But the nightmare still isn't over for Amber, as Johnny has requested $100,000 in court sanctions.

Amber has spoken out for the first time about this, according to E!, the actress has stated "Johnny and his counsel seem to wish to prolong this proceeding as a means of punishing me".
"I am now told that Johnny is taking outrageous steps of seeking legal fees from me because I have asked the court to enforce the settlement agreement that we reached four months ago." Continuing that "I am told that Johnny somehow claims I am the one who is delaying settlement rather than the other way around. These claims are contemptible and shocking".

Amber concluded "Johnny has delayed the resolutions of this matter. I want my life back. I want to be divorced from Johnny now".

This response is in retaliation to Johnny's team who, back in December, claimed that Amber "continues to needless litigate a case which has been settled, all while parading in front of the media in a desperate attempt to extend her fifteen minuets of fame".

In August they had agreed to a $7 million settlement, all of which would be donated by Johnny to the ACLA and Children's Hospital of LA, under Amber's request. Hardly the actions of a woman wanting 15 minuets of fame...
