Forever searching for the perfect lip product? With so many options available it can be hard to know what to invest in and what to avoid. Plenty of products promise lip-plumping properties but which one is right for you?

We’ve rounded up our favourite beauty tools for the perfect pout and explained how to get the look, so you can get dreamy lips without opting for painful injections…

Liner and gloss

Overlining your lips is an art so make sure you have the right shade of pencil with a strong pigment and a long-wear gloss to match. We love Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat pencil for this – plus it comes in a range of shades from neutral to pop-bright red, depending on your look.

Lip mask and scrub

Treat your lips to a little TLC with a collagen-activating mask or scrub. Just be sure to treat the delicate skin on your lips gently and follow up with a hydrating natural balm. After you’ve treated your lips, simply add a slick of lipstick and go.

Beauty boost

Specialist products that contain hyaluronic acid, collagen and peppermint can boost the circulation in your lips, encourage circulation and give lips a fuller appearance. Always read the label on these to make sure you’re not allergic to anything.

Fashion Week is so much more than style. During fashion week we get an inside look at the hair and makeup trends that we'll be sporting all next season. On a few lucky occasions like this years’ New York Fashion Week, it also reflects a shift in society on the very definition of beauty. This NYFW was bursting with a sense of change that was embracing activism, and celebrities that were more disrupting than your average celeb bunch.

From the breast cancer survivor Erica Hart, who walked at the Chromat show in a slip dress that was gracefully showing off her scars to the ten-year-old drag kid Desmond Napoles, who walked proudly at Gypsy Sport. To accommodate to this celebration of inclusivity and uniqueness, makeup and hairstyles were extravagant, rebellious and bold.

EYE FOCUS

The focus currently has shifted towards eye makeup featuring over the top looks such as black lashes and plastic bug eyes á la Gareth Pugh. There was gold glitter at Ulla Johnson and smoky eyes at Tom Ford or Alice + Olivia who traded the liquid eyeliner for a smudgy eye pencil. The eyeshadows surrendered to a rainbow effect with graphic edges in shimmering colours of pinks and purples. While Kate Spade opted for diamonds carefully glued on the models’ eyelids.

SUBVERSIVE HAIRDOS

When it comes to hair, the trend was all about spray products using all the essentials to create a  wet look. The accessories were over the top featuring 80’s leather headbands, throwback claw clips and irreverent updos put together with an army of hair gel.

BOLD LIPS

Whether it's two-tone pink and red lipstick, a healthy glow so extreme you're basically applying moon dust to your skin, red was a constant. The classic crimson lip became a powerful pout painted in a carefree fashion of individuality, whether it was in liquid form at Chromat or matte at Bottega Veneta.

HAIR DYE

Objecting to the single hair colour trend of seasons past, bold as they may have been, this time it was all about strategically placed streaks. The models at Sies Marjan wore pinks and blues while green and blonde short dos was also a trend at Marc Jacobs. Which of the makeup trends will you be trying this season? Take a moment to appreciate the best beauty looks of New York Fashion Week AW18 with us. Because Fashion Month is so much more than just clothes and this was our first chance to check out the hair and makeup trends we'll soon be sporting next season. As with the collections and shows themselves, which celebrated rebelliousness, inclusivity and uniqueness, the shift in society regarding the definition of beauty was reflected boldly and extravagantly.

Here are four of our favourites!

EYE FOCUS

It seems more is more again by the extravagant eye makeup choices on the NYFW catwalks. Ulla Johnson’s models have their eyelids dusted with gold glitter, while Tom Ford presented his own take on sexy smoky eyes, and Alice + Olivia traded liquid eyeliner for smudgy eye pencil. The eyeshadows surrendered to a rainbow effect with graphic edges in shimmering colours of pinks and purples at Oscar de la Renta and Anna Sui. We can’t wait to DIY Kate Spade’s eye makeup: sparkling diamonds carefully glued onto eyelids.

SUBVERSIVE HAIRDOS

The main trend was wet look hair, created by sprays that worked on every texture as seen on the Row catwalk by hairstylist Eugene Souleiman. The accessories were pretty maximalist: with 80’s leather headbands, throwback claw clips and irreverent gelled updos among the best of the bunch.

BOLD LIPS

Red was a colour constant, even when paired with pink for two tone lips. And it was masterfully set off with a healthy glow so extreme it will look like you applied moon dust to your skin. This classic crimson became a powerful pout, although painted in a carefree fashion, in liquid form at Chromat and matte at Bottega Veneta.

HAIR  DYE

Swap the single hair colour of seasons past, as bold as it is, for strategically placed streaks. The models at Sies Marjan wore pinks and blues, while green and blonde short dos made an appearance at Marc Jacobs. Which of the makeup trends will you be trying this season? Red lips on Valentine’s day seems like the perfect beauty tradition. Not only can you leave cute kiss marks everywhere from your lover’s face to a note and on the mirror; they’re also bold and self-empowering. Slick on your most flattering shade (you might need professional help to find it), and your eyes are brighter, your smile wider and your pout is all the more enticing. It’s no coincidence that some of the biggest bombshells like Marilyn Monroe and cartoon Jessica Rabbit have made red lipstick their signature. And even though red is the tried-and tested colour of seduction, often used to uplift a LBD for unprecedented glamour after dark, it has plenty of daytime mileage with denim and neutrals as well.

But you can’t deny how high maintenance red lips are. And not really suitable for actual kissing either because one unintentional facial smudge or teeth smear kills the magic. There’s a lot of prep involved too: lips need to be exfoliated, then outlined and contoured before filling in (Kylie Jenner popularised over-lining: where you draw beyond your lip line to create the illusion of fuller lips). Matte, gloss or stain is the key question and determines the impact. Matte is dramatic but gloss will catch the light more and a stain is the most natural of the bunch with just a hint of colour. Keep last season’s just-kissed lipstick trend in mind as well because the slightly smudged application is gorgeous and adds an air of nonchalance.

On the SS17 runways, we spotted some killer statement lip trends, that we can't wait to incorporate into our 2017 styles. Here's the top 3 that you should look out for:

a) Bold lips + Bare face:
The new make up minimalism involves pairing a deep dark lip with a bare and glowing skin. This draws attention directly to the lips, so you can flaunt that perfect pout with little to no effort!

b) Bold lips + Bold eyes:
If you're in a super bold mood, pair your statement lip colour with a statement eye look! But make sure that you use complimentary lip and eye colours, such as a red lip with a black or grey smoky eye. Pair it with a monochrome or neutral outfit for the perfect party look!

c) Bold lips + Bold brows:
The bold brow is one of our go-to looks, and it only looks better when paired with a bold lip. Try and keep the rest of your makeup very glowy and natural, so that your face doesn't look overdone or cakey. Try it out and let us know what you think!

From runways to magazines, Gigi Hadid has definitely found her niche as an upcoming supermodel. All the big names in the fashion world love her, and why shouldn't they? She's stunning!

The latest big name to fall in love with Ms. Hadid is Versace, who have chosen her as the face of their Spring 2017 campaign. But it's not just her face, there's a whole lot more of her on the campaign too. In fact, Gigi is completely naked in the ads, barring a pair of black stilettos and a Kelly bag!

We think that the photos are opulent as hell, and that Gigi looks absolutely stunning. Nobody can deny the power of the Hadid pout, and this photoshoot proves it for sure!

This week's Bollywood fashion roundup has been an absolute stunner!

1) Alia Bhatt:
It's no mystery that Alia Bhatt is our constant wardrobe crush, and this week was no different. She shared a picture of herself wearing a gorgeous Martin Grant button down suede skirt with a navy blue v-neck blouse tucked into it, and we thought it was so chic!

2) Parineeti Chopra
Party season is most definitely here, and Parineeti seems to be all about that life. She posted a photo of herself in an all-black Karn Malhotra piece with silver accents last week, which we think its an absolute stunner. Not to mention, her pout is just perfect!

3) Sonam Kapoor:
Suits never go out of style, and Sonam Kapoor proved that this week in a stunning Alberta Feretti number, consisting of a lace bustier, wide leg pants, and a long blazer. Love!

4) Jacqueline Fernandez:
Jacqueline is all sass and class in her recent Instagram post, dressed in an embellished Coach overcoat. We think she exemplifies winter fashion goals to the max in this picture! Also, can you say #hairgoals?!

5) Sonakshi Sinha:
Sonakshi's easygoing style is forever on our radar, and why would it not be? She shared a gorgeous photo of her recent travels, wearing a casual tank-shorts-sneakers look. The twist in the tale was her checkered cardigan and statement necklace, which gave her look a more polished vibe. Definitely style goals.

We're firm believers in the power of the suit, and Bollywood seems to be in agreement. The women of B-town have recently taken to flaunting a more sophisticated side of themselves with help of a cult classic - the pantsuit. Don't be fooled, gone are the days where women wore drab old formal suits to work and home. You can now amp up your suit and make it high fashion in just a few easy steps. Here's how -

1) Play with colour: Aditi Rao Hydari has been our suitspiration this week, after we spotted her in a gorgeous olive green suit at a recent Femina event. Inspired by her, you can bring some colour into your life, and move away from the traditional blacks and neutrals. Her monochrome look, paired with flowing skin and a fierce pout, is an absolute stunner!

2) Add a belt: Another way to add some dimension to a classic pantsuit is by wearing it with a waist belt. As you can see it doing for Kajol, it highlights the natural slimmer waist of the body and brings some shape as well. This gives a feminine and curvaceous look to the body, which we are obsessed with!

3) Make it dramatic: Kangana Ranaut added an incredibly sexy spin to her pantsuit, by wearing statement accessories and a dramatic eye look with it. This gave an edgy and dramatic vibe to her otherwise formal and high-fashion outfit. You can follow her footsteps and bring some spectacle to your own pantsuit outfit as well.

4) Add some shine: A pantsuit is traditionally not the most glam choice for an outfit. But you can change that by adding some glittery shoes to the look like Anushka Sharma. She chose to keep the rest of her outfit embellishment free, which you can do as well. This way, all eyes will go directly to the statement accessory, and have that be the standout of the show!
