Now that summer’s here, we’re investing in breezy warm-weather ensembles to see in the new season in style. Vacay-ready dresses and denim shorts in summer hues call for bronzed limbs but we’re not about to risk sun damage by hitting the poolside sans SPF. Instead, we’ll be opting for a quality self tan to achieve that healthy summer glow without exposing skin to harmful UV rays.

Want to get the glow? Just follow our simple tips for achieving the perfect summer tan without compromising on your skin’s health…

Choose wisely

Opting for a dark self tan might seem like a quick fix, but your glow is far more likely to look natural if you invest in a subtler shade. Make sure your skin tone matches whatever you pick and opt for something similar to a product you already enjoy using

For example, if lotion is your jam then a tanning cream could be for you. If you prefer something more lightweight on your skin, go for a spray or mousse. Work with whatever feels comfortable for you.

Exfoliate

Be sure to prep your skin before applying your self tan. Use a quality exfoliating scrub in the shower to brush away dry skin and get your skin feeling clean, fresh and ready for application. Using bronzing products after exfoliating means your glow will last much longer.

Layer it

Avoid the temptation to pile on the product and instead, apply a light layer a day at a time to build up a natural-looking colour. This way, you can exfoliate any dry patches and moisturise in between applications to keep your skin soft, supple and happy.

Glow up

Finish off your tanning routine with a shimmering bronzer – we love a gold-toned powder or simple contouring kit to highlight that golden glow. Add a little definition to your cheekbones and décolletage and you’ll be ready to rock that summer dress in no time.

Pearls have always been a mainstay of chic women. Made famous by Coco Chanel herself, the simple, monochrome touch that a well-placed pearl necklace achieves is timeless.

Pearls are great for playing it safe so until now, they’ve been associated with twin sets and tea dresses than fashion-forward models and bloggers.

Things have changed… pearls are back in business and the bigger the better. We’re seeing pearl accessories everywhere, from the runway to our favourite fashion blogs with minimalist twists and punk accents galore.

Want to pull off pearls like a cool girl? Take a look at our round-up of the best pearly pieces to invest in for a twist on a fashion classic….

Statement sleeves were huge last year (no pun intended) and we’re happy to say they’ve made a welcome return for SS18. Whether it’s for work, the weekend or a big event, everyone’s swapping simple styles for statement silhouettes.

How to wear statement sleeves…

A statement sleeve works with just about any look so you can work them into your line-up with ease. Try teaming a ruffled iteration with a simple jeans and mules combo for an effortlessly cool off-duty look. For work, go bold with pressed pinstripes and fluted sleeves offset by a simple skirt and cute heels.

We love a layered look so on chillier days, try teaming a classic blazer or denim jacket with a flared sleeve for a stylish twist. There are endless ways to rock this trend so put your stamp on it and flaunt those sleeves with flair.

The grey jumper is a must-have, especially with the arrival of spring! It matches perfectly with pastel and soft colors, just like pink or light blue. Did you get one? #grey #jumper

My “almost famous” t-shirt rocks! And it’s gorgeous to wear it with such a great statement piece like my pink biker jacket (that always matches perfectly with white tees). Love it! #bikerjacket #pink

One trend set to be in everyone's wardrobe this season is denim. I can hear you thinking - denim isn't a new trend, we all have a favourite pair of jeans, just trust me this time it's different. This time you need a lot of denim, way past your fave pair of jeans. Selena is a perfect example of working denim in every kind of way. A personal best, however, has to be the classic double denim. Selena matches shades in her denim jacket and ripped jeans. Paired with a white tee and pumps this is an easy denim look. It makes me think I might be brace enough to brave the double denim his year. I love the design of this shirt on Demi Lovato.  It looks like a fun athletic top but that it could be worn on an everyday basis too. I personally adore the touch of red velvet on the shirt that matches her eye shadow.  Demi always wears her makeup so natural and fresh, her skin always show through the foundation especially those cute fleckless.  Photo credit: @ddlovato on twitter  #fashion #demilovato #beauty #outfit #look

Meet Alessandro Michele’s newest baby, Gucci Garden! Opening in a historical place in Florence, Gucci Garden is opening inside the Gucci Museum that Frida Giannini started working on it in 2011. With a history dating back to 1337, Palazzo della Mercanzia is the middle age location that matches with Michele’s design aesthetic. With vintage pieces of Gucci and galleries, the Gucci Garden is almost like a bazaar. It is a museum that isn’t a museum! #gucci #garden #guccigarden #florence #alessandromichele #museum #bazaar #history
