The edition of the Ocean's 11 franchise hits theatres tomorrow across the US. We're expecting stellar performances by an all-female cast including Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Cate Blanchett an award-winning actress who thanks to her many accolades, has had plenty of opportunities to hone her red-carpet style.

Cate Blanchett often avoids the safe route and goes with pieces from the likes of Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Armani. She always put her unique stamp on a look by making structural silhouettes and bold detailing work to her advantage.

Her most memorable looks?

Hands down the lemon Valentino design she rocked when accepting her Oscar, the intricately-designed John Galliano dress that she sported at her first Academy Awards and more recently, her killer pastel suits at Cannes Film Festival.

We love Cate Blanchett's style so we’ve put together a few tips on how to recreate it, whatever your budget…

Red carpet

Go for a sweeping evening gown with an exposed back and gold-toned detailing. Finish your look with delicate sandal heels, a simple clutch and a set of drop earrings for pure elegance.

Off duty

To copy Cate’s  her off duty look  keep it classic and practical. She usually goes for a pair of fitted pants, a blazer and shirt paired with a neutral  mule or sneaker, so try muted separates and tailoring with a sports-luxe twist for yourself. Want to get more of Cate's style?

Dakota Johnson belongs to Hollywood royalty but made her own name, starring in Fifty Shades of Grey and later becoming a Gucci muse. Now the actress is set to star in the much-anticipated adaptation of the horror film Suspiria.

She'll be heading up the cast of the 1977 classic alongside Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and an unrecognizable Tilda Swinton. The Fifty Shades of Grey star is known for her role choices as well as her understated style.

For red carpet she opts for long silhouettes, like the white Proenza Schouler number she rocked at a screening of Call Me By Your Name, in New York. Usually you'll find her in Gucci, whether it's the Met Gala, Fashion Week or the Oscars, where she donned a show-stopping gold gown…

For her off-duty looks you'll find her sporting a simple pair of denim cut-offs with a plain shirt, or slogan tee,  a fedora hat, sunnies and an indie scarf. Her hack for remaining chic at all times is adding designer accessories such as an oversized Gucci tote, a velvet duster coat and Gucci brogues.

The Cannes Film Festival red carpet has, once again, been serving us a cavalcade of show-stopping looks. With so many events, screenings and parties taking place in such a short space of time, we’re always amazed at just how many incredible outfits we spot.

Of course, every year offers up a look to remember and we always spot one or two memorable pieces from the runway, but this year, our favourite celebs seemed to be opting for the same few trends. We’ve put together a list of our favourites and included a few tips on how to rock these striking looks at your next big event…

Shimmer and shine

From Winnie Harlow in that incredible Jean Louis Sabaji gown to Kristen Stewart in a metallic Chanel mini, the order of this year’s red carpet is anything that sparkles. We spotted Bella Hadid in a shimmering design from Elle Saab and countless other models, actors and socialites kitted out in gold, silver and sequins. Now, this is a statement trend guaranteed to turn heads, so keep your accessories simple and your make-up pared down – except your lipstick, keep that bright for a cool contrast.

Power suits

Tailoring always goes down well on the red carpet and at Cannes, the rule has no exceptions. Doutzen Kroes donned an achingly-cool Tom Ford suit, while Julianne Moore opted for trousers too in a softer take on power dressing. Cate Blanchett wowed us in a pastel-pink suit by Stella McCartney and we saw statement styles from Chanel in light blue too. Anything works with a suit, so mix it up with barely-there heels and clutches or statement trainers, sunglasses and a lace camisole

Graphic outlines

From 3D shapes to contemporary twists on corseting, bold graphic shapes and unusual outlined details have been big at Cannes this year. Jennifer Connelly showcased the trend in Louis Vuitton while Star Wars actress Lupita Nyong'o showed us her take on the trend in Dior Haute Couture. Deconstructed silhouettes and futuristic shapes are here to stay but be sure to stick with monochrome or colour-blocked detailing to avoid looking too far out.

Sunshine yellow

Yellow is having a moment and it’s been everywhere at Cannes. From pale-yellow suits to bright mustard dresses, the colour is reigning supreme for SS18. Our favourite yellow gowns? Lui Wen in Bottega Veneta and Leomie Anderson in Twinset. We’ll be seeing a lot more of the colour this year so find a shade that says something about your personality and team it with plenty of sparkling accessories.

Wedding season is here, but if you’re not quite ready to give Meghan and Harry a run for their money – and let’s face it, who can afford to cater for 600 people? – you might want to consider a few shortcuts. We caught up with Fern Godfrey, Editor of the UK’s biggest Wedding blog Rock My Wedding, to discover her tips for planning your dream day on a budget…

What do you love most about being the Editor of Rock My Wedding? Rock My Wedding was founded by Charlotte O’Shea in 2009, when she was planning her own wedding, it’s grown hugely since then and we’re now a team of 10. I’ve been Editor at Rock My Wedding since 2015 and I absolutely love my job.

We get to share people’s love stories every single day, work with beautiful flowers and dresses, and champion incredible wedding suppliers with our directory, The List. The best bit is seeing the wedding photographs of brides who have read RMW religiously while planning their own weddings –- it’s such a great feeling.

What do you find are the most popular wedding themes?

We feature a lot of rustic luxe weddings -– industrial and agricultural buildings with lots of exposed brick and lofty beams, filled with flowers and candles. This theme works beautifully for weddings across Europe as we have so many incredible historic and working buildings to use. The weather in the UK doesn’t always allow for the amazing outdoor celebrations we feature from France, Italy and Spain, but all of the weddings we blog are amazing in their own unique way.

How can one plan a beautiful wedding on a budget?

If you want to save money while planning your big day, then the key thing is decide on what is important to you as a couple. If you chose the areas you’re going to spend on, then you can try to save on the others.

Do you really need wedding favours? Can you serve canapés as a starter and wedding cake as your dessert? Have you considered a Spotify play list rather than a band? Do you really need a pair of designer shoes? If flowers aren’t important to you, then use local foliage and seasonal blooms. The one thing we’d always recommend spending on is professional photographs and a film – these things will allow you to remember your big day forever and so they are the most important part.

Can you share any useful DIY tips?

We’ve created a couple of floral DIY’s for Rock My Wedding readers. The first is a chair back arrangement to take your seating to the next level. The other is for a classic flower crown – these are very popular with boho bridesmaids, especially at cool, rustic weddings out in the countryside, but you can use any kind of flower to achieve the look and feel you want. There are plenty of examples on the Rock My Wedding Instagram feed.

As an expert, what would you pack for a destination wedding?

As a wedding guest? A floral maxi dress, a wide brimmed hat and some sunglasses. As the bride? A soft and flowing gown, some pretty sandals and lots of Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder.

Shop Fern’s edit for the perfect pieces to make your day special, whatever your budget and wherever you’re heading to tie the knot…

It’s been 20 years since Princess Diana's death yet her undisputed elegance and inimitable sense of style still wow the world. Her iconic collection of garments includes Victor Edelstein's unforgettable pink velvet gown, famously worn at the White House when the Princess danced with John Travolta, and that striking wedding dress that will forever go down in history.

The truly fascinating thing about the Princess' style is that even today you'll find it to be quite relevant. Sure, we may have said goodbye to shoulder pads but mom jeans, polka dot dresses and baseball jackets are very much on trend and are all elements that defined her classic sense of style.

Check our list of her most iconic looks in the gallery and scroll below to recreate her style for yourself…

Florence Welch recently made headlines all over the world as she sang tracks from her new album High as Hope at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Once again, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine proved her skill not only in song and stage presence, but with her signature theatrical boho style – something we’ve always loved about her.

During the Chanel AW2015 show she conquered the red carpet in a blush-pink pantsuit with eclectic accessories and a huge black fedora hat. While at Erdem she appeared in an emerald-green feather coat, complementing a pair of dark-wash jeans.

A gal truly inspired by the '70s, Florence isn’t afraid of bold print and rocks anything from psychedelic swirls to chintzy florals. Sporting gowns with billowing capes – like that gorgeous custom Gucci column gown she donned for Chime for Change – this singer always wows us with her maximalist style. F

or accessories, Flo seems to love a fringed bag or teeny, tiny clutches. She's a fan of silk scarves, unique headpieces and of course, dangling bohemian earrings.
