This week marks the 20th anniversary since the Spice Girls recorded their video for Wannabe. I'm going to go ahead and let that little piece of news sink in... 20 YEARS. Feeling old yet? Marvellous, join the club.

A reunion tour is planned later this year, (sans Posh because well, she's Victoria Beckham now), so to get you in the nostalgic mood, here's 20 times The Spice Girls totally defied your expectations... (hey they weren't the biggest girl group in the world for nothing!)

1. When they signed with Virgin, Posh took off her knickers and threw them out of the taxi.
2. Wannabe was written in just 20 minutes.
3. They asked Tony Blair to be in the Wannabe video. He sadly declined.
4. Emma passed out from sunstroke whilst filming Say You'll Be There, yet still continued filming!
5. They sacked Simon Fuller (AKA the 'other Simon') to regain artistic control in 1997.
6. Mel B once stole toilet rolls from Nelson Mandela's house.
7. The Viva Forever video was only animated because the group had no time to film it.
8. Geri pinched Prince Charles' bum at the Royal Variety Show. Why? We have no idea!
9. The Union Jack dress was supposed to be black- Geri said it was boring and the rest is history!
10. Said dress was also just a tea towel. You have to give it to her, that's pretty ballsy.
11. The Spice Girls 'look' was designed to be affordable, that way their fans could dress like them.
12. Victoria once referred to John Major as a 'boring pillock'. Quite!
13. They doorstopped/ stalked the Editor of The Sun to get him to promote their first album.
14. Despite all their success, they never won a Grammy. Makes them more special, we say!
15. At the height of their fame, they had their own deodorant. It was pretty lush.
16. They also wrote and starred in their own movie. 7 Razzies later it is a cult classic.
17. Wannabe was shot in one take. The record company hated it, the girls refused to re-shoot!
18. Geri chose Girl Power as their group mantra as she didn't like the word 'feminism'.
19. Labour were scared the Spice Girls would derail them given their Conservative leanings!
20. They covered American Vogue. The definition of 'made it'.

Wait, Jamie Dornan has a thing for Peter Andre's hair from the 90s?! Hilarious. Thank god Celebrity Gogglebox is back for a second run after last year's bunch smashed it for Stand Up to Cancer.

Jamie is joined by Nick Frost on the couch to dissect this year's Strictly Come Dancing hopefuls (hence the Peter Andre Mysterious Girl reference) over a pint and a pizza in a new teaser trailer released today.

Showing on Channel 4 tonight, other celebs taking part for charity include Miranda Hart, Geri Halliwell, Boy George and Lee Mack.

We're in for a treat if last year's Gogglebox participants are anything to go by- Kate Moss, Noel Gallagher and Naomi Campbell all on a couch watching the X Factor and Strictly was a particular highlight.

"More ludicrous than Downton Abbey" was Noel's opinion of Mark Wright's dancing. Yep, this year is going to be a cracker!

Hold. The. Phone. Did Mel B just inadvertently make all of our (my) dreams come true this Monday afternoon!?

In an interview with The Today Show Mel let slip: "When you say it's our 20th anniversary, it makes you think oh gosh it really has been that long.

Hopefully we'll gather the troops around and we'll get to do something to celebrate it this year. Well, it's in my plan. I don't know if it's in anybody else's."

After their amazing Olympics reunion, we were pretty sure that was it for Spicemania (mainly since Victoria is all serious and fashionable these days) but surely they wouldn't let such a big landmark pass them by?

For all of you who used to sing Wannabe in the playground, pretend you were Baby Spice, got a fake tattoo like Mel C and bought at least one mini skirt to play Posh, this news at least gives us some hope.

With back to school season now in full swing, can you imagine a whole new generation of Spice obsessives?! Now I'm nearing 30 (terrifying) maybe it's time to pass the baton on...

Scroll right and treat yourself to a bit of guilty afternoon delight (no, not that kind) with a Spice Girls megamix video. You're welcome.
