Everything that brings us comfort is coupled to our day to day and, when we talk about comfy fashion, it is even more pleasant, especially if we talk about footwear. Remember the flats shoes. They were a boom for their comfort and versatility to become a footwear that could fit both the casual and the executive and now the latest fad of fashion proposes a similar style, but quite peculiar: the slippers.Have a look at our gallery for more inspiration! It's quite amazing that a trend which quite evocately carries the name 'ugly' in its description can have such an amazing popularity amongst the fashion pack. True, the admittedly ugly trainer is back with a vengeance staught from the guts of any self-respecting 80's movie. From the Breakfast Club to E.T and Back to the Future you must have caught a tv glimpse of that unmistakable chunky big trainer usually a bit worn out, sometimes with bold colourful leashes and in grey tones.

This time, the big difference is that in complete juxtaposition to its normally ugly demeanor, it's being styled with historically proclaimed 'girly' paraphernalia. From puffer skirts, romantic dresses, to your usual everyday business suit and skirt. All the major fashion influencers from Mariannα The Moss to Leandra Medine, Marianne Theodorsen and Pandora Sykes are sporting the trend with unexpected items like luxe vinyl trench coats or smart casual attire.

Invest now in a pair of 'ugly' trainers and immediately amp up your style without changing a thing in your normal wardrobe! Check out our gallery for more inspiration and shop your favourite styles from our exclusive edit below!

One of the most desired items of this season is the Niki boots by Yves Saint Laurent. More desired and more expensive. High, decorated with Swarovski crystals and for sale for nothing more and nothing less than 8,000 euros. And one of the responsibilities for turning them into the footwear of the year has been Kendall Jenner, who already chose them for the commented outfit of his 22nd birthday, and who has put them back to go an NBA basketball. As the weather gets chillier, the body naturally craves more time inside, more specifically under the covers and all wrapped up in a warm onesie. But life goes on and appointments have to be made, and you inevitably have to brace the cold, even on those early mornings standing at a bus stop when all you want to do is sip on hot cocoa and watch Netflix.

It seems that Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner have solved the winter conundrum by striking the perfect balance in an outfit that is both chic and elegant, as well as unbelievably comfortable and snuggle-friendly, as though they they never left the warmth of their bed!

This uber cool 2017 version of the off-duty model look includes these important elements:

THE Jacket

Go for an androgynous long coat with severe shoulders that gives definition to your silhouette. You can also go for an equally comfy and more sporty bomber jacket in a funky color. SUPERDRY has an amazing range of comfy slouchy jackets that are incredibly stylish! Uber-cool, sleek, loose silhouettes with an air of laissez-faire that will be ingrained in our psyche all winter long.

THE Leggings

This is quite straightforward, but we recommend a pair of black leggings, so that you can easily match them with any other item in your closet. The texture is completely up to you. Go for vinyl, leather or keep it simple with a pair of cotton, lycra jersey or rib-knit.

THE Top

Here's where you can really experiment and let your hair down. Go for an elegant striped shirt or a pussy-bow blouse for a more classic look. Or mix in some bold and graphic streetwear with a slogan tee (weather-permitting) and printed hoodie for a funkier look.

THE shoes

We have to agree that there are so many types of footwear that can accompany this look, from white sneakers to ankle boots, but the unanimous all-time winner is (drumroll please) the UGG boot. The UGG boot has in the past garnered as many mixed reviews as Michael Jackson's 2001 album, but you definitely can’t go wrong with a classic mini in black or camel.

Timberlands have got to be my most favourite footwear when it comes to Autumn and Winter. This year I've been eagerly waiting for the season to change so that I can grab my pair of Timbs that have been stuffed away in the wardrobe all Summer. And now that time has finally come! There's something extra special about pulling on a wedge boot of a Timberland knowing full well that the quality of them is going to last you until next year as well. Not only are they comfortable and snug during the colder weather, but they are also very stylish and very, very popular. There are a range of styles for men, women and children ranging from the Traditional 6 inch boot to fold down boots and boat shoes. Timberlands also come in more colours than ever now, including my personal favourite for the Autumn, the Wheat Nubuck. However, you can also choose from black, pink, brown and khaki. The possibilities are endless! On the Timberland website there is also the choice to design your own shoe. This means that your dream Timberland footwear can become a reality! Another style that is not to be missed as it is limited edition is the 8-inch premium boot as it is '100% Made In The USA.' It is the perfect time to buy yourself some new shoes and what better brand to get than the one and only Timberland. Okay don’t literally be slouchy but your boots are allowed. The ruched boots trend has been the major footwear trend of Fall/Winter 2017. Saint Laurent, especially, showed as some powerful leather slouchy boots. If you’re up to date on social media there is no way you haven’t noticed this trend. Opt for cone heeled or kitten heeled ruched boots to nail the heel trends as well as the boots! #slouchyboots #ruchedboots #boottrends #Fall #Winter

You've seen them on Kaia Gerber, the Hadid sisters can't get enough. We're talking about the ultimate footwear comeback staple from the 90's, the grunge era of combat boots and tea dresses. Even before the Chicago grunge era of Nirvana and Courtney Love combat boots such as Dr. Martens, were causing head waves across the country with the punk rock of movement in all its vinyl, PVC and fishnet glory.

For 2017, the vibe is quite muted and nuanced. Although we may see lots of touches from the previously mentioned punk trends, the styling now has an amazing way of looking elegant and put together though maintaining that tough, rocker edge. Combat boots are also surprisingly complimentary to all shapes and sizes.

Firstly they come with that tiny rubber heel that gives a few cheeky inches to a petite figure. Also, it has a very clever slimming effect. The chunkiness of the boot actually juxtaposes to the calf and elongates the leg as a result. Nothing wrong with that!

Go for a full 90's resurgence look by sporting your combat boots with a frilly tea dress, minimal make-up and a knit cardigan.

Opt for an 80's look by adding a LBD and fishnets. For an up-to-date take on the trend, mix a slip dress under an oversized knit and finish the look with a pair of white Dr. Martens.

Zendaya shows us, that when it comes to hair you either go big or go home. The actress chose a 60's ponytail updo, for the #ERDEMxHM event. Leaving the makeup department monochromatic and natural, with a little cat eye, neutral skin and lips and fluffy brows. We had to completely re-think the word tacky this season with full on red outfits and so much plastic it would make anyone cringe. So re-structuring the red boot from questionable footwear choice to haute couture status was not as difficult. They are the standout shoe of the season which thankfully comes in many forms and sizes to suit all styles and mostly all the levels of tolerance with a sexy red boot.

If you're hesitant you can start off by purchasing one of the most wearable types of boot-the ankle boot. Whether it's flat, with a stiletto heel, or is a sock boot you can sport this number with confidence. It can allow you to be extra normcore on the clothing and let your red ankle boot shine, or you can blend in red, burgundy and crimson details all through your outfit.

If you're feeling bolder, go for the ultra sexy 80's vixen look with thigh-high red boots that will instantly turn heads and pair it with a skirt (the length again up to you|) or a long slit at the thigh skirt for extra oomph. Look to designers such as Ganni and Victoria Beckham and you'll see why these boots have become so popular. Looking for some more street style inspo? The likes of Margaret Zhang, Lucy Williams, and Emily Ratajkowski, have been sporting them on a loop, just browse through our gallery and see them in style action!

Yes, even though we try to avoid it we're officially in September. Less sunlight, chilly mornings and chillier afternoons scream for a slight change in wardrobe and potentially a few more cosy nights in. These changes include footwear, and if flip flops were the go-to shoe of choice for summer, this season it's all about the ankle boot and its many variations: Flat, heeled, leather and suede, print or plain.

FLAT

The flat ankle boot is probably the easiest way to be comfy chic. If you don't believe me just ask a few flat ankle aficionados like Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller. Follow in their footsteps and team them with midi skirts, long floral trousers or leggings.

HEELED

The autumn/winter essentials are definitely a pair of impressive, leather heeled ankle boots. They are offered in a great variety of punky buckle boots, suede Western styles, vintage lace up booties, riding styles in metallics bright bold colours like red and purple but also look out for plain black, grey, brown or white.
