There is nothing more ravishing than a desi girl in a sari, and Bollywood's brightest know it all too well! Over the decades, we have seen the sari turn into a timeless classic, making the actresses wearing them seem just a little more magical than usual. To celebrate throwback Thursday this week, we have rounded up some of the most iconic sari looks in Bollywood. Check it out!

a) Sridevi in Mr. India
The chiffon sari holds an eternal place in all Bollywood fans' hearts, as does Sridevi. In the 1987 classic film Mr. India, she looked incredible in an electric blue chiffon sari, paired with a matching bindi and the trademark glossy lip. We've loved it then, and we love it now!

b) Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
No Bollywood list is complete without a Kajol mention, amirite? Her iconic transformation from a headband wearing tomboy to a sari clad desi diva was absolutely incredible, and we must admit, that red sari made her look all kinds of stunning!

c) Kareena Kapoor in Chameli
Kareena Kapoor is carefree and breathtaking in the 2004 classic film Chameli. Even in a mismatched red and blue sari, she is all smiles and sass as she dances around a skeptical Rahul Bose. We don't know about him, but we were certainly floored!

d) Sushmita Shetty in Main Hoon Na
Even though Sush turns heads in her everyday life too, Main Hoon Na has to have been the reason we have violins playing in our hearts every time we think of her character, Chandni. Sporting colourful and billowing saris throughout the film, she is nothing short of graceful across the board. Definitely one for the Bollywood history books!

e) Priyanka Chopra in Dustan
Didn't think we forgot the desi girl trademark, did you? And how could we, with her being everywhere across the world right now? Priyanka Chopra gave the demure sari a sexy makeover in Dostana, and had us all feeling like the sexiest desi girls in any room! That beige sari paired with a smoky eye look is outfit goals even 8 years after the movie came out. Talk about making a mark! If you are inspired by these bombshells to get on the sari train yourself, then we have you covered. Shop the edit below for some amazing sari style options!

December 7 marked the release of the much awaited trailer of Raees, a new crime flick starring Shah Rukh Khan where he plays the role of a smuggler. Complete with action packed fight scenes as well as an adorable love story, this flick seems like it has something for everyone. And of course, we loved SRK's badass nonchalance in the trailer, and we loved his styling even more!

Instead of the traditional darker colours that most Bollywood villains wear, we see SRK in bright coloured kurtas and button downs, ranging from deep red to bright orange to lemon yellow. His look was completed with some oversized spectacles with a thin rim. Our personal favourite part of his look, though, is the touch of eyeliner around his waterlines. It gave his badass look an incredibly unique and sexy twist, which we absolutely melted over.

Check out the trailer in our gallery above!

Anushka Sharma is one of our favourite faces in Bollywood, for she is super versatile when it comes to her sartorial choices! And she proved this once again with her recent looks for the promotions of her latest movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Our favourite look that she rocked was a red kaftan with a pair of red palazzos underneath. The flaming hue was perfect against her radiant complexion!

The next look was one that she rocked for a Diwali celebration where she was prepping the ADHM cast. She wore a pink and peach saree with a dull gold blouse, and once again the colours were super flattering on her.

And the last but not the least was a super casual look that we loved—a knee-length black dress teamed up with a black & white checked jacket, and classic white sneakers. We love!

Love all these looks too? Shop them below in our hand-curated edits!

People generally shy away from investing in a Lehanga because there is a common notion that it would be worn only once and then it wont be used again. This story is all about breaking that myth.

Look 1: Wear it with a white shirt
I paired my lehanga with a white shirt and some silver jewellery and a pair of oversized clear classes. A loose side braid and voila.

Look 2: Quirk it up
Can you ever think of wearing your lehanga with a slip dress? Sounds weird right? I paired my lehenga with a black satin and lace slip dress and some quirky accessories and I absolutely love how it turned out.

Look 3: Wear your Lehenga as an off shoulder kurta.
You heard that right! I wore my Lehanga as an off shoulder kurta and paired it with matching leggings and a net duppatta and golden flats.

Carry these festive looks with loads of confidence and festive spirit, to rock this Diwali!

It's that happy time of the year again and we are here at Amazon India Fashion Week to experience new trends and styles.

Day one and two saw some striking designs and textiles but what stood out for us was different ways to drape a saree. Notable designers such as Abraham & Thakore, Anavila, Krishna Mehta and Rina Dhaka show us exactly how.

With crop tops
Sarees are best when teamed up with crop tops. Our fave style is wearing a printed cotton saree with a printed crop top which is either half, full or medium sleeves. What also works here is mix-n-matching different fabrics, for e.g. silk goes best with cotton.

With short kurtas
Yes, who would have thought? But look how gorgeous it look? Krisha Mehta shows how to wear sarees with short kurtas and absolutely emerge as a true fashionista. The key here is to match fabric so the focus can always remain the whole look instead of one garment.

With leggings
Yes! Instead of wearing a petticoat, try wearing leggings underneath sarees. Not only will it help hold your folds, but also give you a modern look to your saree. Well, if you wear a crop top underneath, you'd have successfully transformed a traditional outfit into modern.

Loving what you see? Try it out for yourself!

We don't know about you, but we like to let our inner desi girl out to play every now and then. After all, who doesn't love putting on a colourful kurti, a bindi, and bangles, and feeling super ethnic and pretty?

But we also understand that shopping for ethnic pieces can get a little heavy on the wallet, so we've specially curated a list for you of our favourite ones under 1500.

Go crazy!

In her long-awaited wedding to Karan Singh Grover, Bipasha Basu was the most radiant bride ever.

Decked out in Sabyasachi finery and made up in typical Bengali bride style, we couldn’t stop staring at her wedding pics—we’re sure you can see why!
