Creating a foundation wardrobe is part of growing up, the older you get the most you realise how important it is to have a few key pieces that you can mix and match. Trends are fabulous but they are a lot easier to work with when you have a savvily curated collection of basics.

Every fashion lover knows that there are some pieces that will always look chic and never loose value, for example:

1) A black blazer

Why? Because a black blazer instantly smartens up any look and can transform something casual into smart-casual.

2) A white shirt

A white shirt can make a look crisp, elegant and refined. Simple but oh so effective.

3) Leather trousers

They add an instant edge, plus can transform any look into something that is sartorially progressive!

4) An LBD

No explanation needed. An LBD is every woman's go to evening piece. Timeless and oh so sexy.

5) A Trench Coat

The Parisians know how to do chic, steal this style from them to update your wardrobe.

Investing in the 20 pieces listed in the edit below will save you money, but more importantly time, in future. Working with these basics and building upon them with statement or trend driven items is the most hassle free way to dress, plus there's never the fear of "I've got nothing to wear".

If you think that Taylor Swift or Beyoncé would be the first ones to cross 100 million followers on Instagram, think again! Selena Gomez has officially become the first person in the world to cross this huge social media milestone.

Interestingly enough, Selena hasn't even posted anything on her account since August, as she is currently taking a break from the public eye due to the side effects of her lupus, including anxiety and depression.

Well, we hope that the news of her crossing 100 million puts a smile on her face and makes her feel a little better. Wish you a speedy recovery, Selena!

Summer is shining down upon us, which means that many of us are preparing to jet off to sandy beaches to soak up the sunshine and explore exotic locales. Planning your outfits for a vacation is one of the hardest things to do, right?

Well, Shopcade’s here to help you plan your vacation aesthetic, A to Z!

Nails
Let’s start with the basics. When you get your pre-vacation manicure, resist the temptation to keep those fierce claws. Long nails can really get in the way while packing, lugging suitcases around, and travelling, so go short!

As for the colour: it’s summer, girl! Go bright and bold with your nail paint. Pink, orange, turquoise, pastel yellow, lime green—the world’s your oyster with any of these hues.

Clothing
Combine comfort, convenience, and style with flowy skirts, short shorts, off-shoulder tops, crop tops, and sun dresses.

To keep to the summer theme, get bold and pair prints with prints, and keep your colour palette warm and bright!

Beauty Rule #1
Do not forget to pack your sun screen! This is the most important beauty item in your makeup bag. No one has time for an elaborate face of makeup while busy travelling, so keep to the basics.

Pack a BB cream for a quick, easy, minimal base, and keep a concealer handy to spot-conceal blemishes.

A peachy blush along with bronzer will help give you that healthy, sun-kissed look.

Another super important summer essential—highlighter! Adding some glow to your cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, collarbones, and bare shoulders will help finish the summer goddess aesthetic!

As for lip colours, check out our summer lipstick guide
