It's so easy to overthink your first date - what to wear, what to talk about, where to go - basically any and every minute detail that can impact how the date goes. But of course that (and a few other things) are not really a good idea. Here's what else you probably should be mindful of -

a) Talking more than listening
If you really want to get to know someone, you have to be able to listen in silence without making things about yourself. If you do all the talking, they might just feel like you're a little self-centred, and nobody wants a second date with that!

b) Not asking interesting questions
This may seem obvious, but dig a little deeper with us. The generic spiel of "what do you do" can get dull very quickly, and doesn't really make for memorable conversation. Add to that question by asking where they got the passion for their work, and where they see the industry going in the future.

c) Being overly mocking
They say that the best way to get along with someone is to make jokes about them, but there's a limit to the same. Be mindful to not mock everything around you; you don't want to come off mean. Be mindful to take the jokes on yourself just as much as you dish them out to others!

d) Dress like someone you are not
Like we said, it's easy to overthink the perfect first date outfit. It might even lead you to go outside your own, and end up in an outfit that makes you feel uncomfortable, and something which isn't really you. So as it goes for the other stuff, remember to dress like yourself too!

There are loads of articles all over the internet that lay down soppy requirements for good relationships like "They should send you a good morning and goodnight text everyday" and "They should take you out to nice places".

But we call nonsense! A real relationship is about a lot more than good morning texts or nice restaurants. Here's the real checklist to find if you're dating the right person or not.

They find reasons to talk to you instead of excuses not to
Something funny happened in office? You're the first person they text. Just having a crappy day and want to feel better? They text you.

A significant other who truly loves you will want to talk to you for anything and everything.

They support you through the bad times and rejoice with you in the good times
They should always be there by your side, whether it's to hold you while you cry about having a fight with your parents, or clinking glasses with you over getting that long-awaited promotion.

You have healthy lives outside of each other
While it's obviously important to have things in common and share important aspects of your lives, it's also important to have interests and activities independent of each other.

There's little to no jealousy in your relationship
You're just so secure in your relationship that there's never any reason for jealousy when they spend time with other people.

There's no power play in your relationship
You both see it as a relationship of two equals who love each other, and nobody is "in charge".

So, does your relationship check these boxes?

Getting over a breakup is a herculean task in itself, let alone the worry of how to get back into the dating game. And if you've just gotten out of a long-term relationship and forgotten about the last time you met someone new and did the whole dating dance, things can seem even more daunting!

So, Shopcade's here to help you get back into the dating game if you just finished getting over a breakup, or even simply want to get back to dating after taking a break from it for other reasons.

Simply follow these tips, and you'll be meeting cool new people and rocking the dating world in no time!

Spruce yourself up
Sometimes, a new look is all you need for a confidence boost. Do anything that makes you feel good about yourself—get a new haircut, buy a few new clothes/shoes/cosmetics, or even just get a manicure.

Socialise more with friends and colleagues
By going out with your friends and colleagues, you will have more fun and are automatically more likely to meet new people, and, by extension, a new partner.

Keep your mind open
If you've just gotten back into the dating pool after a long relationship or hiatus, don't limit yourself by having specific expectations like "I only want to hook up" or "I only want to date a certain type of people". Let yourself go with the flow, and you'll have many more fun and exciting experiences.

Don't be afraid of online dating
Don't have the time or inclination to go to parties and get-togethers? No worries. Online dating apps like Tinder and Hinge are losing the stigma they once had, and you can meet all sorts of cool people on them. Don't be reluctant to try out the world of online dating. You never know, you might just meet the perfect person on there!

Ask your friends to set you up
Ask your close friends to set you up with someone, and they'll be sure to rack their brains to find someone they think you'd get along with. And what's better than meeting someone who comes pre-approved by a friend, right?

Lunches, dinners, coffee dates, and movie dates are all well and good, until they get boring AF! Living in a city doesn't leave us with many unique date options.

But don't worry—we're here with a list of out-of-the-box date ideas. Who says you have to do the same old stuff in order to spend time with your S.O.? Pick out one of these ideas and have a blast with your special someone.

An amusement park date
Nothing spells out "thrilling" like a day at the amusement park! Enjoy roller coasters and other rides together for maximum fun (Imagica's great for Bombay and Pune peeps, and you can head to Adventure Island if you're from Delhi). Plus, if you plan in advance, you can get some great deals too—so it need not be an expensive day!

A beach date
Sometimes, it's great to ditch the fancy meals and just head to the beach for some quiet time together. Most beaches, though crowded, usually have parts that are more secluded. Walk around with your lover and find a quiet spot to dig your toes into the sand and enjoy the ebb and flow of the ocean.

A city exploration date
Why stay in one place when you can go to many? Make a day out of it—catch random trains to random places, go to places in the city you've always wanted to go to but never gotten around to, enjoy the highlights of your city that you usually take for granted!

Take a class together
Nowadays, you can find a class or workshop for any number of things—yoga, Zumba, Pilates, cooking, photography; you name it and it's there. Pick something neither of you has done before, and go do it together. It'll be a bonding experience of a different kind!

Leave it to Miss Kapoor to give us Red Carpet glam for a day event. The L'oreal ambassador was spotted today in a stunning ruffle-y couture dress from Abu Jani.

Keeping the gravitas of the dress in mind (which is from AJSK's Jawani janeman collection at #LakmeFashionWeek) she kept accessories and make-up to a bare minimal.

She, however added a pair of killer, Statement-y shoes and a million dollar smile to finish off her look. Love or love?

Do you think the dress is too much for a day event or you're gagging over it just like us! Sound off in comments below!

They've been rumoured to have been hooking up for quite some time but now, we're confident that Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris are totally A THING.

Frustrating as it may be to sit back and feed off of updates from the webloid rumour mill, one thing's for certain - dating ain't always straightforward and perhaps even Tay Tay doesn't know if she and Calvin are like, you know, boyfriend and girlfriend. Girls, remember that feeling?

On another note, looks like Taylor and Calvin have dressed up all nice for each other on date night! Taylor sticks to a classy all-black-everything look; keeping her eye make-up to a minimum so not as to draw attention away from her siren red lips.

Calvin's tossed a suit jacket over a crisp shirt and some fitted black jeans.

To steal their date night style, simply look to the edit below!
