Some women happily shimmy into theirs at the first hint of frost, while others would rather freeze than cover their legs in tights of any shape or form. And to all intents and purposes it’s perfect tight weather right now, being both bitingly cold and snowy at times. Pulling on a pair of 100 deniers or Uniqlo’s heat tech styles means you don’t have to sacrifice warmth for style- so flirty mini skirts, dreamy dresses and thin trousers can be worn with confidence. For the waistband and gusset haters among us, stockings and ankle socks also do the job and there’s a particularly wonderful selection of decorative hosiery to play with this winter. From lace to fishnet, sparkly to block coloured, some pairs are admittedly more for show but your outfit will be all the more fabulous for it.

On the flip side, this extra warmth does come at a cost: sweaty legs, coloured legs that potentially ruin an outfit’s carefree mood and, of course, constant hole and ladder watch. Not wearing tights at all eliminates these risks and only requires an extra dollop of moisturiser before venturing out. And Scousers and Essex girls really take pride in their no-tights-under-any-circumstances (or coats) reputation. This hard-core approach to winter dressing is for the ultra-brave and the cold immune. Like Victoria Beckham and even royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle perhaps, judging by her star engagement announcement turn when she flaunted her lithe, yoga honed legs outside uncovered.

Whether you’re a tights rater or slater, we’ve rounded-up the essentials below in our must-shop edit.

While the rest of us are gift-hunting and party-hopping this month, the jetsetter is already planning their next escape. Hot or cold? Carry-on or checked in suitcase? Business or pleasure? These are the questions they’ll ask themselves as they take advantage of the fantastic flight deals currently around. We’ll envy them come March when we’re scrambling to make last minute Easter and bank holiday plans and they disappeared off to their desired destination.

As they’re probably seasoned pros at packing, and the airport restrictions are ingrained in their memory, elevate their travel essentials or gift them things they’re most likely to forget. Luggage is definitely worth investing in as weekend bags and suitcases last for years and yet there always seems to be other priorities- namely the stylish contents inside. Travel-sized luxury toiletries wouldn’t go amiss to save them the last-minute drugstore run and the embarrassment of having to throw away too big bottles at security. A chic passport cover will ensure they keep theirs even closer at hand and cosy separates to actually travel in will help make the journey as comfortable as possible. This way they can treat themselves (and maybe buy you a thank you gift) in Duty Free.

Cardigans are an excellent way to elevate any casual outfit without much effort and more style than a stale hoodie or blazer. #fcfbfb">One of the oldest documented garments on record moving from the courtroom to the church, to the boxing ring and the boudoir the coverup's fluidity is not only in form but also in purpose. More specifically, over the past few seasons, robes, coverups and their comfy relative the cardigan, are being incorporated into our everyday wardrobes without the granny-chic connotation.

From Etro to a plethora of vibrant prints and colours at Roberto Cavalli to botanical garden inspiration at Alberta Ferretti pure Americana vibes at Elie Saab, the runways were filled with coverup inspiration. Looking for the classic style of cashmere? Lord & Taylor has a fantastic selection that is also quite affordable as part of their pre-Black Friday sales!

Pair them with a cool denim pair of trousers, or a skirt, or opt for the uber cool version of a floor-length velvet robe and wear it over your favourite LBD with over the knee boots for the perfect going out look!

Whatever your style this season have a look at our exclusive edit below and you'll find the perfect cover-up for you!

I have a soft spot for editorial makeup. I see this photoshoot as an interpretation of winter. With the pale skin and dark raven hair of the model, the makeup artist use a white mascara on her lashes to make them look as they were cover by tiny snow flakes. This is not the first time i seen this tecnique for winter ice inspired looks. Celebrity Makeup Artist, Ariel Tejada also use white mascara and iridiscent glitter on the lashes of Kylie Jenner for her Snow Angel Costume on Halloween Night. I love white mascara for special effects, but would you wear it on a daily basis? Photo Credit: Pinterest #makeuplook #beauty #winter #snowangel #editorialmakeup #trend #AW17

Edward Enninful's first British VOGUE cover was meant to cause attention, to make a clear statement that VOGUE UK is entering a new era, that it will be more inclusive more diversified and less elitist. In his quest for the perfect cover model he unsurprisingly went with British model and feminist activist Adwoa Aboah and for the revolutionary, female empowering and optimistic decade of the 80s in the styling and make up.

Being chosen for the celebration of this transitional era must be a tremendous honour. Aboah has already appeared on the cover of American VOGUE alongside Ashley Graham, Liu Wen, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. She has also been on the cover of VOGUE Italia and i-D. She has an organisation for young women called Gurls Talk tackling issues that she too has suffered like depression and drug addiction.

Her short boyish blonde hairdo speaks volumes of her non-challance and laissez faire attitude. She puts comfort and practicality up in her priority list without compromising her effortless style. From check pant suits, to large yellow aviator glasses, to a pair of simple denim flared trousers, to a black leather dress, her style is unapologetic, dynamic and 100% Adwoa.

One of the most prominent International bloggers and street style stars featured in WWD and Glamour, is a girl that really knows how to play to her fashion strengths. The Singapore street style star is a regular at fashion shows with her long brown locks usually sporting some kind of cool structured jacket minimal make up and a very easily flowing sense of style.

Her blog, Yoyo Kulala has become one of Singapore's must read. Last year she became the first fashion blogger to appear on Elle Singapore cover. Yayo is also a very successful designer and owner of the label Exhibit. Her latest endeavour is a collaboration with Matches Fashion, styling 12 shoppable looks alongside the likes of Leandra Medine and Garance Dore.

Her blog is expanding too. She's on the hunt for a regular staff of writers, videographers, and columnists to grow the site. What makes her style so enviable is that it's simple, elegant with modern touches that inform trends instead of following them. Want to incorporate her style? Look through our gallery for inspiration and shop her outfits in our edit below.

Getting a tattoo is a big commitment. It will be on your body for the rest of your life, so it's best to make sure you get one that you don't regret. As tempting as it may be, I would advise not getting a name, especially of a boyfriend because relationships change and nothing can ever be defined as 100% certain. • Think about the design. Do you want something simple or something detailed? The design you choose is the one you're stuck with so make sure you love it. Tattoo designs that are trending at the moment appear to be floral ones and animals. For example, how many celebs have a lion tattoo? Cough, cough, Cara Delevingne, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber. • Do you want the tattoo to be in colour or black and grey? Again this depends on the design and whether colour would suit it or not. Make sure you know exactly what colours you're going to choose, even before you visit the tattoo shop. • It's better to plan rather than be spontaneous. Sure, spontaneous tattoos create funny memories and you can always laugh at them later on, but most spontaneous tattoos end in regret. Prime example (especially abroad) the tramp stamp. • Look at other designs for inspiration. If you're not entirely sure about how to design your tattoo or what you want it to look like, look at some designs online. Pinterest is especially good for this. After you've got some inspiration you can discuss what you want with your tattoo artist. This gives them more of an idea and makes it easier for them to come up with a design for you. • Think about cost. Depending on the size and how detailed the design is, tattoos can be expensive. Obviously, smaller, less detailed tattoos are cheaper, whilst tattoos that cover nearly your whole body will be very pricey. So, make sure you save up for your tattoo and more importantly decide how big you want it. • This is perhaps one of the main points to think about and that is deciding where on your body you want your tattoo to be. You need to also think about work and future jobs and whether the position of your tattoo will be acceptable for a particular role. The tattoos most easiest to hide will be on your legs (mainly thighs) and your back or chest. For smaller tattoos, you could think about getting one on your wrist or your foot. Remember a tattoo is for life, so don't just get one because it is coming up to Christmas!

Interior design is one of the most satisfying things to try out, especially when you move into a new home. There's nothing better than choosing styles and furniture that suit your personality to a T. So here are a few suggestions to really get your inspiration going! • Try designing a room using only three colours. Using one colour can be boring and make a room feel quite plain and not as homely; however adding an extra colour or two can really bring that little bit more vibrancy. Obviously choose colours that match or compliment each other well. Personally, I would go for grey, a light purple/violet and silver. • Try a vintage inspired look. There are thousands of beautiful pieces of vintage furniture out there and putting them all together will add character to your house or a particular room. One feature piece that I love is an old vintage type writer! • Decide whether you want wallpaper or painted walls. This can be a tricky decision as some types of wallpaper can be a little full on when they cover an entire room. In this case, you could choose to have one wall as the feature wall, this being covered in your chosen wallpaper, and then the rest of the walls painted. Again, make sure the colour of the paint suits the wallpaper. • Pick a theme. It is always nice to have some type of theme within a room. This could be based on a colour, or the type of furniture, or even an era. You might decide that you want something quite floral, or abstract, but again it depends on the room you are designing. At the end of the day the decision is up to you so be creative! Photo credit: Pinterest
