After a decade of minimalism, sleek lines and simple colours, trends inspired by disco and the '70s are bringing bold textures back into fashion. From Gucci to Versace, designers reinvented the vintage trend with a modern twist, finding inspiration with IT girls Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber and eschewing the desire to blend in.

We love everything that sparkles and shines around Christmas and a sequinned number never goes amiss, but honestly, it's a shame to leave those glittering outfits hanging in our wardrobes for the rest of the year.

We're donning our sequins for spring, gearing up for a summer of festivals and long balmy evenings. We can't get enough of sequin embellishments on everything from heels, to clutch bags and evening gowns. Shop below and prepare to feel like the queen you are,...

With preparations for pulling together new spring wardrobes underway, it's only a natural progression to start thinking about what beauty looks we can take to as soon as possible. Change is in the air, and we have some nail design suggestions for you!

Over the past two rounds of fashion month, one recurring beauty trend we've spotted on the runways are graphic manicures; whether they've been bold and colourful or slick and monochromatic, there's a myriad of ways in which graphic and minimalist nails can be done.

From a dot to a line, a simple detail, this manicure was on every show: Opening Ceremony, Kate Spade, 3.1 Phillip Lim... you name it. Every colour is yours to play with, but our favour goes to black and metallic designs. And no need for a professional, you can try it yourself with a hair pin or pencil point dipped into nail polish before applying it to your nails. This minimal manicure won't let people indifferent.

If you're more into plain colours, this season trend is all about lilac, following the colour of the year Ultra Violet. From head to toes, you can embrace this soft, pastel colour, for a smooth entry into Spring.

And last but not least, metallic and glitter nail polishes are always there to bring some sparkle in your outfit. Shiny and glamorous make-up and outfits should not be limited to Christmas and Red Carpet, everyday should be a party, and that small fantasy will be the trick. And if you don't feel confident enough to rock a full sparkly manicure, an accent nail is an original way to embrace the trend.

Head to the gallery above for nail art design inspo and a tutorial by Jaunty Juli then shop the kit below.

We haven't forgotten about nail care either so check out what nail strengtheners and cuticle oils from OPI, Butter London, Nails Inc. and Deborah Lippmann we've lined up too... Shop our edit below!

The disco ball-esque dress was well loved over Christmas. It is a classic getup for the festive party season. Personally I hate to let go of the glitter as we bring in the new year - and I very rarely do. That's why I was overly excited as the Paco Rabanne models hit the runway. This look is beautiful. It oozes glitz in the large silver embellishments chained down the dress. The baby blue is perfect to offset this metallic shine. I also love that underneath the metal in a crisp shirt. It's much smarter than its costume yet they work so well together. The metal is a fusion of metal masculinity and feminine glamour, emphasised by the floral detailing on the shirt collar. The festivities continue. Image: Indigital

Described by Vogue as 'Christmas tinsel but make it cute', I can't stop staring at this Chanel number. Kiernan Shipka looks gorgeous in this little white dress at a Chanel party in LA last week. It is a totally recognisable Chanel style thanks to the linear shape and feathered fabric. Kiernan looks like she could step right onto the set of Clueless. It's cute, classy and chic. It's Chanel. As we’re move closer to February, Christmas holidays seem like a distant memory. It’s only natural that we start getting that escapist feeling in order to recharge and reboot. The perfect way to relax without breaking the bank is by organising a short weekend getaway on US soil. With Valentine’s Day coming up you may want to organise a romantic weekend away with your beau or conversely a fun weekend with your  best mates. So get your travel essentials, and prep your carry on we here at Shopcade have prepared a small travel guide with the best cities to visit this winter!

Napa Valley

For your ultimate wine tasting getaway book a room near a vineyard and fully indulge yourself in what the city has to offer:  olive groves, and the Mayacamas Mountains.

Calistoga, California

Looking for a romantic getaway with your significant other? How about a secluded ranch in the middle of California offering plenty of activities outdoors and impressive wooden interiors of a classically crafted lodge.

Connecticut

If you think that romance is dead then how about going to a place where Victorian romanticism and architecture thrive? Yes, we're talking about Connecticut and its offering of 19th century fairytails in the charming seaport village of Mystic, Connecticut.

Twin Farms, Barnard, Vermont

For a truly romantic weekend of yesteryear aesthetic look no further than Vermont. There between the maple and pine trees of Barnard, lies a 18th century  farmhouse that once belonged to Nobel Prize-winning writer Sinclair Lewis. Literary getaway check!

Tennesee

To experience the true farmhouse adventure head to the Great Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. You'll be surprised to find amazing farms with a few sparse bucolic hill cottages and grand, multi-bedroom homes. Fill your days  with pursuits like horseback riding, fly-fishing, and canoeing and enjoy indulgent dinners at the hotel.

Ted Baker sales are must-shop events because you won’t find pieces and lifestyle products quite like this anywhere else. From casual loungewear to black tie evening wear and daily essentials, they’re fun-packed with personality and boast quirky details and witty slogans. Described as ‘a man whose ambition is to experience everything’ by Kelvin in an interview with Retail Focus, which explains the wide-ranging offering which include activewear, tech accessories and fragrance; the international fashion brand has grown impressively from a shirt stall in Glasgow.

The struggle against winter wardrobe fatigue is real, especially in the face of a glitzy party season. Although Ted does have some dazzling dresses and standout suits for any New Year’s Eve parties ahead on sale plus the awe-inspiring accompaniments to take your look to the next level. Never fear, the Superdry sale is here to get your smart-casual uniform on point. Get up to 50% off the slick outerwear, brilliant basics and more that the British streetwear brand does so well in its own distinctive way. Spotted on everyone from David Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio to Pippa Middleton and Kristen Stewart, on-trend Americana is very much a part of Superdry’s design DNA, only the hand-drawn graphics are Japanese-inspired and the whole aesthetic is tailored and pulled together in a diverse way. Factor in the premium fabrics, intricate details and the fact some styles are inherently unisex as well, and you have a collection of wardrobe superheroes every season.

It’s obvious that co-founders and creative collaborators Julian Dunkerton and James Holder are always thinking ‘how can we do this differently’ because Superdry continues to innovate and stay ahead of the curve. Don’t be surprised to find body con dresses and contemporary Chelsea boots among the womenswear, while fresh new logos and modern motifs transform otherwise simple tops for men that are worth collecting. Every style is universally appealing but still manages to feel exclusive which is no mean feat.

’Tis the party season after all and Superdry is the ultimate antidote to all the try-hard glamour. The shimmering silver dress is an effortless entrance-maker in its own right, just like a perfectly shaped pair of brown boots. And if you’re still looking for a winning winter hat or last minute Christmas gift, one of the colourful logo beanies will fit the bill.

Check out the collection highlights above and shop your favourites in our must-buy edit below.

I am always amazed, and excited, by what becomes a coveted trend in lifestyle and interiors. Who would have thought I'd be desperate for Christmas cards adorned with llamas? And yet here we are, post-flamingo hype, seeing llamas printed on anything and everything. I suppose it is no surprise cactus has well and truly become a home foliage staple. In fact, foliage itself is a much loved finishing touch to the home. It is surprising, however, that this love for plants is spilling into other orifices of the home. Botanical prints taking inspiration from our in-home gardens can be found on duvet covers and the like. A not so secret garden. Image: Marks and Spencer

We’ve got to give it to Gap. Getting some of our favourite instagrammers to rock their rainbow stripe styles as part in their #12daysofcrazystripe campaign pre Christmas was a stroke of genius. Monica Ainley teamed her knit with white jeans and a khaki coat; @andfinally_ founders Anna Vitiello and Florrie Thomas’ cropped shots featured eye-catching jewellery and a beret; while the @belleandbunty girls wore theirs with mini skirts. Not only did the reinvigorated brand succeed in pushing rainbow stripes back on our radar with stellar styling inspiration, they also created this winter’s it pattern.

Sadly Gap’s crazy stripe styles are largely sold out but you’ll find that plenty of your favourite brands and retailers have been lining up to push this colourful trend forward. From trophy tops to dazzling dresses, standout shoes and even activewear and swimwear- there are so many ways to lift your cold weather wardrobe and your spirits. It’s worth noting that the description ‘rainbow’ has been used rather loosely to encompass all bold and kaleidoscopic multi-colour combinations. And despite that, these stripes are just as timeless as their classic Breton counterparts and surprisingly versatile too. Trust us.

If you’re wondering what the coolest girls are wearing this New Year's Eve, look no further than the velvet suit. ‘Why?!’ We hear you cry. Because as tactile and as luxe as this tailored two-piece is, and yet another winning '70s throwback, it never looks too try-hard. Quite unlike a dress or cleverly co-ordinated separates. That’s the key point and Alexa Chung and Poppy Delevingne have both rocked this look in the past.

To (velvet) suit up yourself: Mango is a great place to start with its unexpected colour palette and tasteful cuts. Plus you’ll get even more dressing inspo from the brand's own gaggle of cool-girl ambassadors, Camille Charrière included. If you’re going down the designer route, try Racil, Haider Ackermann (a velvet suit specialist) and Saint Laurent (Yves Saint Laurent did create the iconic Le Smoking suit after all) for stunning suiting that will last a lifetime. Underneath add a wisp of a camisole or nothing but a spritz of perfume.

Click through the gallery above for styling tips and shop our expert edit below. Lots of them have hit the sale!
