Here’s what happened in this week’s resort shows.

Prada and Chanel were the first to display their resort 2018 shows on the catwalk. In true splendour, Karl Lagerfeld and Miuccia Prada presented us with some spectacular shows, both equally as impressive with hints sparkle!

In Paris, Chanel cruise 2018 set the scene in Ancient Grece…packed with drama! Stepping back into an era of draped gold and white grecian gowns, ornate headpieces ad fine jewellery as well as gladiator sandals and gloves. Karl presented true classical glamour, with a Chanel twist. Chanel girls included models Mica Arganaraz, Marjan Jonkman and Ana Ewers, and attendees Keira Knightley and Yara Shahidi.

Prada’s Instagram revealed their post: “The Shape of Things”, with the emphasis on shape and structure for this collection. They juxtaposed soft femininity with industrial structures. The overall feel of the collection was playful, mixing sportswear, luxe, lingerie and sheer layering. Pink, green and lilac pastel hues, silver sequins and feathers lined the runway. This glittering display was accompanied by a beautiful pink walled and parquet floor set. Just dreamy!

This year, the Met Gala’s theme was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons. After themes like Punk: Chaos to Couture in 2013 or Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology in 2016, we were little surprised when we found out that the MET gala was focused on just one designer, but Rei Kawakubo’s work definitely deserves a theme of its own. After all, her experimental Comme des Garçons pieces have always been at a crossing between art and couture, which is just what the Met Gala’s all about.

This year, as always, some celebrities took the theme more literally than others. Rihanna, for example, opted for an extravagant Comme des Garçons creation, and Rita Ora went for a red gown inspired by one of the label’s most iconic catwalk looks. For others, the connection to the theme was less explicit, but we spotted many outfits that were outright shocking, in perfect Comme des Garçons style!

So chic.

Roll up, roll up, there's a new colour in town. Pink, once reserved for Barbie and Elle Woods has just got seriously cool. The SS17 catwalk saw the hue dominate, from fuchsia to magenta, no pink was off limits. Valentino showed us how to clash pink and red, while Chloé went for a powdery shade.

So why the pink embrace? Millennials are rejecting gender binaries and proving that hyper-femininity can be empowering. Pink is the embodiment of women reclaiming femininity from the patriarchy- plus, it's bloody fun to style!

London Fashion Week well and truly kicked off yesterday! The Shopcade Editors headed over to the Freemasons and BFC spaces for a jam-packed day of shows/presentations.

First up we headed to Angus Chiang for an eclectic show of vibrant and abstract menswear pieces. Next we dashed over to the RSA to see two gush-worth presentations from Minki and Judy Wu, where the beauty looks stole the show (wet-look hair and bleached eyebrows).

Now early afternoon we ambled over to the BFC space, where we saw Marta Jakubowski's presentation (neon puffa jackets FTW).

It was definitely time for a coffee-pit stop, social media update and natter before heading to the Ekaterina K. and Steven Tiu presentations. The stark contrast between them made for a pleasurable viewing, one overtly feminine and romantic, the other androgynous and minimalist.

Early evening rolled around and we were excited for the highlight of day one- Ashely Williams. Perched on the front row, across from the likes of Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe, we saw an array of politically-driven, sports-luxe pieces. From cowgirl-chic to plush tracksuits, it was nothing short of inspiring.

19:30 hit and we made a final dash to the Rocky Star catwalk. From bridal pieces, to heavily embellished a-line skirts, old school glamour was definitely the order of the day from this designer.

Scroll the gallery above for the highlights, and shop what we wore on day 1 below...

Remember the “hot felon” who’s mugshot went viral two years ago? Well, he just made his catwalk debut at New York Fashion Week for designer Philipp Plein.

Following the release of his mugshot in 2014, a ton of modelling agencies lined up to sign him and he started modeling immediately after his release in March last year. He since bought a mansion and a Maserati and now has hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram.

This prompted many to question the ethics of the fashion industry. Should we really be glamourizing a felon who was arrested and imprisoned on weapon charges? But, as one of his fans wisely put it, “every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future”.

Besides, Jeremy seems to be sticking to his core values despite his recent fame. He regularly posts pictures of his children and wife of 8 years so he might not be the bad boy we thought he was after all…

Vogue promises us a "diversity issue", they give us Karlie Kloss dressed as a Geisha. Karlie isn't Japanese. She also isn't under represented, considering she's one of the highest earning supermodels in the world. Just this week Karlie confused Destiny's Child and TLC. We didn't think it could get worse, but it did.

In the shoot her face appears to be whitened, and her hair is done in the traditional Shimada style. Did we get stuck in a time warp? Or is this actually happening? In 2017!

Karlie knows better, Vogue knows better, yet here we are again. Vogue have culturally appropriated a hundred times, and this isn't Karlie's first time at the rodeo. Remember in 2012 when she strutted down the catwalk in a Native American headdress? Stay classy, guys.

She has set up a coding school, she's is a vocal feminist and has all the makings of a role model. She's smart as hell, yet continues to make such stupid mistakes. Why? She's in a position to say 'no' and turn down shoots that aren't right for her, but does she? No.

Vogue is a bible for us fashion-lovers, but that doesn't mean they should get a haul pass when it comes to cultural appropriation. There are hundreds of beautiful Japanese models, and Vogue could have had their pick- do better. Please, just do better.

While the first couple of days are great to check out the work of lesser-known talent, LFW brings out the big guns by Day 3!

On this day, we saw some big names (designers and actresses alike), and their exciting resort collections left us on a high. Here are our top 5.

Payal Singhal
This designer's collection gave us major 1930s vibes! We were dazzled by her use of fringes and beads, which, combined with a liberal use of gold accents, gave us a luxe vibe. Plus, we couldn't take our eyes off Diana Penty's old world glam that fit in perfectly with this collection.

Label by Ritu Kumar
Ritu Kumar's Maharaja Pop collection gave us major royalty vibes, along with a hint of military chic. We fell in love with the dazzling motifs, and splashes of colour on neutral bases. Her showstopper, Vaani Kapoor, looked gorgeous in a black outfit that combined appliqué with net.

Falguni Shane
Peacock The excitement was palpable for FSP's first LFW show in 6 years! The theme of their collection, titled "The Rebel", was an explosion of cool tones like silver and blue, paired with warmer tones like champagne. All pieces were finished off with a sheer robe, which added a unique touch to them. Bipasha Basu was an eye-grabbing showstopper in a nude, embellished outfit and a snatched ponytail.

SVA Couture
SVA's collection was all about chic neutrals and pastels. Think wide-legged pants and flared tops with cinched waists. We loved how the closing outfit totally popped, though—Nimrat Kaur brought the gorgeous red-and-gold lehenga to life alright!

Farah Sanjana
This collection perfectly channeled our inner little girls who loved to wear flared skirts and twirl around all day! We loved the gorgeous matching co-ord sets with flowy floral skirts and crop tops, combined with soft neutrals. And Kiara Advani was the cutest showstopper ever!

W Mag's new shoot, entitled 'Salute To 5 Powerful Women' includes JLO, Donatella Versace, Kate Moss, Taraji P. Henson and Jessica Chastain. And it's everything. See the incredible images above and read below for the interview highlights...

JLO: Women Get More Confident As They Get Older

"I have no patience for anything that's not real, just no bulls*t"

"I think living and pushing outside your comfort zone is the only way to be happy, ultimately."

"I've gotten comfortable knowing what I am good at, and how to do it"

"Men in their 20s are very confident and cocky, and women are super insecure. And then it flips: men get super insecure, and women get comfortable in their own skin, in a way that makes them more beautiful....I just appreciate myself in a way I didn't when I was that age. And it's not about perfection. I like the scars I have".

Kate Moss is Proudly Naked at 42

"From the beginning, photographers always got me to take my clothes off, even though I don't like my body at all. I just had to get comfortable with being naked".

"Fashion can be cutthroat, but we love it" "I want to please the person behind the camera. I'm a hard worker. And I like the process of creating an image".

Taraji On Success in Her Forties

"It's supposed to be over for me at 46, but here I am. I'm a late bloomer, and I'm okay with that. Know why? Late bloomers last loooong"

"Growing up, math and science was for boys. I wasn't allowed to have that dream. I don't want another little girl believing she can't be a rocket scientist. Fuck that!"

Donatella On the Power of Fashion

"The power to keep on going forward. I have to succeed in showing women that we can do more, that we are stronger than men."

"I cast different models on my catwalk because there is not just one kind of woman. You can't make a revolution for just one woman!"

Jessica Chastain is the Heroine Women Deserve

"In our society, women are valued for their sexual attraction. I'd like to get away from the sex symbol idea of what beauty is. Actually, that's probably the farthest thing form beauty, because it's makeup and hair, it's pouty lips- it's not real"

"We're not supposed to be ambitious, we're not supposed to be 'over prepared'"
