Another performance, another winning crop top look from our favourite rising singing sensation Dua Lipa. The 5-time 2018 Brit Award nominee scored a coveted spot on American comedy TV show Saturday Night Live to introduce the US to her sassy and soulful brand of pop. And she didn’t disappoint, sashaying her way through cool-girl breakup anthem 'New Rules' from her debut eponymous album, which charted the highest of any new female artist in the UK last year. She also made us, and almost everyone watching we'd imagine, really yearn for a floral crop top like hers, long-sleeved and only just long enough to cover a bra. So much so that Vogue.com took notice.
Dua Lipa's obsession with itsy bitsy tops is nothing new so it came as no surprise when for her first appearance on Saturday Night Live she appeared in a crop top. Her year is turning our to be monumental. After releasing her self-titled album last summer she officially became 2017's biggest debut for a female artist in the UK and crossed the pond appearing in late night shows like Jimmy Fallon. During SNL, she performed "New Rules", and "Homesick", while Natalie Portman hosted.
We always knew Rita Ora was at least a triple threat and the singer/actress/model (she’s a designer and presenter too) proved it with three on-point outfits in one night as she worked the pre-Grammy party circuit. Which sounds a bit excessive unless you’ve got the world’s most exciting brands at your disposal and fans watching your every move. First up was Ora’s take on the Canadian tuxedo- a denim jacket with denim jeans- which was unbuttoned enough to reveal a lacy black bra underneath. Besides breathing new life into the exposed underwear trend, the white heels she wore with it gave this cool, streetstyle worthy look a ladylike twist. A quick change later and Ora entered full bombshell mode, posing up a storm in a black figure-hugging dress with signature red lips and her blonde locks swept up into a tousled up-do. For her performance and final look, she went for a ruffled pink playsuit and sky high heels as she belted out her songs. Only blingy silver jewellery featured in all three looks.
Lingerie has been one of designers favourite items for the past few seasons. 2017 was really the year of the lingerie worn as outerwear. The rise of the bralette during Coachella and the summer months, while wearing slip dresses over white t-shirts became the norm (thank you 90's throwback), corsets were trending like crazy as well as slip dresses worn as the new best party dress of the season.
The sun-drenched snaps on Instagram featuring our favourite it-girls and actresses enjoying sunny holidays instead of a wintery work commute like us is leaving us green with envy. We really wish we were there and the scallop trim Marysia Swim Antibes bikinis some have been sporting is only making it worse. Millie Mackintosh wore a grey one on her girls getaway this past weekend and looked fantastic in it, no other accessories besides sunglasses needed. And award-winning actress Tracee Ellis Ross proved that the top could stun beyond the beach as an adorable bra-top by teaming hers with high waisted black trousers not long ago. We expect to see Dua Lipa in one soon.
As we're clearly in award season mode we thought it would be the best time to get inspired for the ultimate black tie looks! During this year's Golden Globes the actresses made both a political and fashion statement by sporting black on the red carpet. All guests were encouraged to go for black in solidarity with the Time's Up movement, that calls for change by 300 women in film, television and theatre against sexual assault, harassment and inequality.
Something about this trend is getting me obsessed! I love the subtle reveal of the chunky knits with an open back. The cutout can be used to show off your gorgeous lace bra or even go braless to show off the appeal of your back. Wear it with jeans or skirts because these go with everything. This trend is even making your back fashionable. You will be trendy from the front and the back! #openback #blouses #knits #chunkyknits #tops #trend #streetstyle #fashion

Yes, Halloween is finally here and with it our first snaps of our favourite celebrities getting spooky, fun or damn right outrageous. We're talking about Heidi Klum who has notoriously given us the most impressive Halloween moments. From an elderly woman to the authentic cartoon version of Jessica Rabit, a butterfly as well as a Hindu goddess. She has yet to reveal her costume this year although she gave us a tease outfit on Instagram! And although we have no idea what type of Halloween insanity she is preparing for this year she has gained a bit of competition from Kim Kardashian who has sported not one but three amazingly cool costumes. There was a theme of course. Her music icons that she adored while growing up.
