Bleach blonde hair looks amazing but it's also a lot of hard work. Unless you want your ends to split, your lengths to be frizzy and dry or your color turning yellow, you need to follow a few rules for healthy-looking hair.  We looked to our panel of beauty experts to find out the best ways to look after blonde hair and how to repair it too.

Here's how to care for your bleach blonde hair...

No rush

You can't rush the process of going bottle blonde. If you have dark hair especially previously dyed hair you’ll need to take your time and gradually work towards a lighter shade. At least three to four appointments are needed to reach your blonde hair goals. Don’t go all in or you’ll end up damaging your hair and definitely won’t achieve your desired shade.

Perfect salon

Do your research, consult Instagram, ask friends and be sure of the best way to fulfil your blonde ambition. Take a thorough look at the previous work of stylists and salons you like. Then  be prepared to drop some serious cash to know you’re getting the best for your hair.

No DIY

At least not the first time. Home bleaching can be extremely damaging to the hair if overused or if you've never done it before. At least speak to a colorist for a consultation before attempting it.

Proper haircare products

There's no easy way to lighten your hair because bleaching damages the hair, plain and simple. But you can lessen the damage by ensuring you're using the right products. Use a selection of moisturizing products to strengthen the bonds within the hair and prevent breakage or damage.

Ready to try a bleach blonde look this summer? Before you make your hair appointment make sure you stock up on the essentials from our edit below...

It seems the rumour mill is still churning away when it comes to the choice for the next 007 and despite all the names you may have heard touted about the role like Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Aidan Turner it seems the most likely contender for the role may be, wait for it ... Daniel Craig.

The king of Bonds may not being hanging up his tuxedo just yet with 007 not even being close to the amount of zeros on the end of his latest offer, rumoured to be £150m for a further two films. Daniel has already starred in four bond movies and has put his stamp on the role. Despite expressing some contempt at doing another film Daniel stated “the right to change my mind” and for that pay cheque who can blame him?!

In any case we’re sure the next Bond will be as suave, stylish and lethal as ever and in light of the new revelations that Craig may return let’s take some fashion Inspo from that classic bond style.

Orlando Bloom was at the centre of quite a lot of controversy surrounding his private parts, when images surfaced of him paddle boarding in the buff with his GF Katy Perry. (Scroll above to see the images).

But what did Orlando's ex wife Miranda Kerr think about all this drama? Well whilst on The Kyle and Jackie O radio show, where she was promoting her new role as Bonds Swim's ambassador, the hosts quizzed her. Kyle asked "I've noticed there's a theme running here. I don't know if you've seen the same photos, but even when people are paddle-boarding, people are supposed to be wearing pants of some description".

Kerr replied "Yes, I'm going to send Orlando a pair of both because he, you know, might like either of those". The supermodel then continued "Oh my God, he text me and was like 'um, I'm really embarrassed, some photos are coming out, just thought I should let you know'. And I was like, hmmm...right, what were you thinking? Seriously?!".

It's rather sweet that he gave his ex wife the heads up, and we've got to say, these images haven't harmed his career at all. As they say- all publicity is good publicity. We won't be complaining if some more images of Orlando's little bloom emerge...

Raksha Bandhan is nearly here, and we bet some of you are still scrambling for a gift for your sibling! No worries, though—we're all guilty of leaving festival shopping to the lats moment. Shopcade's here to help you with some cool gifting ideas (and a list of products below where you can shop everything we've mentioned), whether you have a sister or a brother!

For your sister
There are a number of things you can get your sister dearest. We personally recommend something that's girly and useful at the same time. That might sound specific, but it leaves you with a lot of choices!

Pretty much every girl loves a nice pair of heels (give a girl a pair of heels and she can conquer the world, they say), so you could surprise your sister with those.

Another option is a pretty bag. This the perfect example of a fun and useful gift in one!

Want to go a little more extravagant than shoes or a bag? Buy your sister a watch! These are great presents to strike a balance between usefulness and luxurious, and your sister will love you for this gift.

For your brother

If your brother is the kinda guy who enjoys wearing formals, invest in a nice pair of cufflinks for him. This is a classic and evergreen gift!

If you want to go for a more fun route, buy him a t-shirt that makes you go "that's so him!" For example, if your bro is part of the bearded guy trend, get him a t-shirt about how awesome his beard is. Or you could even gift him a beard grooming set.

Another option that you can't go wrong with is a nice watch or a perfume. Every guy likes to have a smart watch and smell great.

Take it from someone who’s always been an “outsider" - the term and concept behind "Girl Squad” does indeed "appropriate exclusivity,” as 19-year-old actress Chloe Moretz puts it. But girls will be girls, so who’s to say they’re banding together for reasons other than just giggles and good times?

In this week’s #HotTopic, I look at why some people find Girl Squads intimidating and why it is that some who do are actually women.

One of showbiz's most contentious Girl Squads has Taylor Swift at its helm. When she’s not topping Forbes’ Celebrity 100, scooping up Grammys by the armful, or making headlines for her love life, the Nashville native hosts parties for her pals who are models, actresses and fellow singers.

The list includes Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Martha Hunt, Lily Aldridge and countless more; many of whom have attended Taylor’s numerous social media publicised get-togethers, appeared on stage during her 1989 World Tour and starred in her 'Bad Blood' music video.*

When asked by Complex magazine if she’d been invited to join Taylor’s gang, rising star Chloe Moretz simply answered “She’s a very talented person.” The Kickass and Bad Neighbour’s 2 actress revealed she sees Girl Squads as “cliques."

Concerning the events following #KimExposedTaylorParty (catch up - read part 1, part 2, and part 3), it’s become more apparent than ever that some members of Taylor’s Girl Squad will defend their leader without question, further making me question: Girl Squad or Mean Girls?

Even if Taylor really didn’t know about the line in Kanye’s song Famous that labels her a “b*tch”, she should have at least stepped out in February to admit he approached her about the other lyrics he wrote concerning her. Instead, Taylor kept schtum and let the whole world believe that Kanye was being his offensive, overbearing self all over again.

I’ve no doubt Kimye had their own agenda by filming the phone call and releasing it to the masses but DAMN IT Taylor, now your pals Selena, Martha, and new Squad member Blake Lively have been dragged into this mess too!

While we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, it’s easy for those already skeptical about Tay Tay’s Squad to now label them Mean Girls. Perhaps the most intimidating thing about “Girl Squads” is the idea they’re all like Taylor’s. No-one wants to be on the Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus end of the Squad’s wrath.

At the Glamour Awards last month, comedian Jennifer Saunders gave an inspiring speech about female friendships while collecting her award for Outstanding Contribution.

"I actually wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Dawn [French] - she ‘discovered’ me and brought me along in her coattails,” Saunders joked on the podium. “With Joanna [Lumley] in Absolutely Fabulous, it’s about female friendships and about empowerment for women, and the necessity not to have a ‘normal’ heterosexual relationship to define you.

“I hope if I contribute to anything it’s that and I would like to dedicate this award actually to someone who passed away this year: Victoria Wood. She was a great friend to us and she helped us and it’s a great loss and I dedicate it to her.”

Saunders is in a Girl Squad. In fact, she’s called out three of her dearest friends in her acceptance speech!

Speaking to a friend about what it is that makes Girl Squads so intimidating, I was told: “I think we need to remind ourselves that women can club together, achieve great things and have more that bonds us than the way we look and what our Instagram followings are."

*Quick Note: Bad Blood is fun. I like the video and I like the song. But it’s an open secret that Taylor wrote the song about Katy Perry whom she believes tried to sabotage her 2012 world tour.

Was it Taylor’s prerogative to write a song about her experience and invite all her friends - regardless of them being women - to star in the music video for it? Yes! Was it really obvious that Taylor wanted the world to know she’s got people on her “side”? Yeah. Was it nice of her to possibly make Katy feel like crap about something that happened three years prior? Nope.

Just when you thought you couldn’t get any more Karashian, Kris Jenner joins E!'s Fashion Police as guest host for the NYFW shows. Whether it’s a welcome addition or an eye roll, you can’t deny that it’s something to talk about. Yes, Kris is known for being a “momager” and exposing her children and family on TV but you have to admit, she’s got something good going on with her Celine reading glasses, designer closet and gorgeously decorated abode.

Maybe we can all learn something from Kris and maybe she might be a great touch to the fashionable crew. The Fashion Police is just one stop on the Kris Jenner press circuit, she also has a feature in Harper’s Bazaar and takes us through a day in the life of a Kardashian.

Hate her or love her, her one love and passion in life is her family. Going from a glossy dark mane to stunning platinum blonde can be a challenging and time-consuming process!

If you’re looking to take the plunge and give yourself a serious hair overhaul, Alicia Lu’s guide below might help ease your worries and get you prepared for the long journey ahead.

Keep in mind that taking your hair through such a dramatic change is best done under the care of a professional hair colorist, and it takes a couple of sessions to achieve the blonde hair you want!

1. Bleach
The first step is bleaching your entire head, staying at least half an inch away from the roots. It’s important not to wash your hair prior to bleaching, and you may feel some pain on your scalp.

2. Olaplex
Olaplex Bond Multiplier is applied after the bleach to rebuild the bonds in your hair as they get broken down by the bleach.

3. Rinse and Shampoo
Once your hair has spent enough time in the bleach and Olaplex mixture, your colorist will rinse it off and shampoo and condition your hair.

4. Olaplex 2
Olaplex Bond Perfector is used to treat your hair for ten minutes.

5. Purple-tinted shampoo
Your colorist may add purple-tinted shampoo when they wash your hair to prevent your blonde locks looking brassy.

6. Olaplex 3
You’ll be asked to use Olaplex Hair Perfector at home once a week, or play it safer and use it as a daily leave-in conditioner and strengthener.

7. Care at home
Try to use cold water when washing your hair to allow your hair to heal, and don’t wash your hair for a few days before you need to go back to the salon.

8. Repeat
Two weeks after the first bleaching session, your colorist will then work on your roots. They’ll apply the bleach, rinse, and apply post-color treatment to deactivate the bleach.

9. Style
For the final step, you’ll get your hair treated by Olaplex 2, followed by a gloss, trim and blowout to style.

Before you leave the salon, make sure to get hair maintenance tips from your colorist!
