Raffia bags, wicker bags, straw bags clogs… It’s all au naturale! Now I’m super into woven mules. I’m imagining myself wearing them with ripped boyfriend jeans and a white blouse. But you can style them with anything. From denim skirts, daisy dukes to dresses or printed overalls. Ever wonder how your favourite influencers and IT-girls manage to rock a truly incredible designer line-up season after season, yet never seem to wear the same thing twice? There’s a little known secret in the fashion world…

The style set don’t always buy their covetable handbags and designer dresses outright. In fact, renting them is often the best option.

Got an event coming up and need a pair of killer shoes by a luxury fashion house? Rent them. Glitzy jewellery for a friend’s wedding? Rent it. A $2000 silk blouse for that all-important job interview? Just rent it.

Retailers like Rent The Runway aim to save your time, save your money and save the planet by offering you the opportunity to lease high-end designer fashion for a fraction of the cost.

Pay per month or per item and tailor your wardrobe to suit your aspirations, your designer crushes and your social calendar.

Everybody’s doing it and the great thing about it is, no one ever has to know…

Some girls always look polished – dress freshly pressed, make-up perfect and not a hair out of place – these girls are often early birds. Then there are those in an ‘it’s complicated’ relationship with the snooze button.

Whether you’re a self-identifying lazy girl or not these four fail-safe looks are guaranteed to raise your on-duty game to new heights so you can enjoy an extra ten minutes under the covers…

Monochrome

Everyone looks chic in monochrome no matter what they put on. Opt for sleek lines and oversized basics to mix and match so you’ll always have a few options to throw on. We love pieces by COS paired with a smart tote, mules and oversized sunnies.

Layers

Cool linen and cotton layers are ideal during the summer months so don’t be afraid to rock the look at work. Team a cool mini skirt with a pared-down camisole and a loose-fitting unbuttoned shirt for effortless polish in an instant.

Statement

A simple silhouette in a bright color or bold print is always a winner. Opt for something easy to wear and just add a cross-body bag, heels and a pair of frames to match your dress – this will instantly make you look more put together.

Suited

When has power dressing ever failed us? Team tailored pants with a cool blouse and blazer and complete the look with statement loafers and vintage-inspired shades. Nothing says ‘big deal coming through’ like a woman who puts a killer twist on a pant suit.

You know how some things simply work well together, no questions asked? Like peanut butter and jelly, gin and tonic and of course, all-white ensembles and summer days…

There's something about nailing an all-white outfit that makes you feel and look extra elegant despite the heat. White is our go-to during the summer months and the head-to-toe look is having a moment right now, which is great, if you can get it right. Read on for our tips on how to nail the trend with ease…

White denim

A white pair of jeans is the ideal base, allowing you to experiment with a whole host of options. Opt for faithful cuts that you’d usually rock in blue or black washes and team with a white tee or a silk blouse. Too hot for jeans? Try pressed denim culottes or a distressed off-white skirt for a rock’n’roll twist on the look.

White shoes

White mules were basically invented for summer but if you don’t fancy wearing a heel for your day-to-day, opt for a cool pair of pool slides and pair them with a white summer dress or your jeans.

Plain white tee

You just can't go wrong with a white tee at any time of year. Tuck yours into your jeans or a cool white skirt complete with a wrap front or ruffles. The trick with all white is to break up your profile a little so don’t be afraid to go bold.

White tailoring

A white suit jacket is a stock piece that won’t let you down. Use yours to jazz up your jeans, toughen a skirt or give a maxi dress a little more of an edge. Nothing beats a classic pantsuit so rock the matching white pants with a cool cami top and block heels for desk-to-dark flair.

It’s great when things start to hot up outside, but when your summer holiday seems a million miles away and you have your day job to contend with, looking office-appropriate and remaining cool in the heat can pose a conundrum.

We know this feeling all too well, so we looked into the best ways to stay cool, look cool and feel cool when it’s too hot to think...

Classic

Go for a pair of flared pants and balance your silhouette with a short boxy camisole, a pussy-bow blouse or a luxe silk tee. Opt for light breathable fabrics and team with simple gold jewelry and a cool oversized tote.

Romantic

Opt for a floor-skimming summer dress in a unique print. Jazz it up with a pair of mules and keep your accessories sleek and pared down. Tidy hair and minimal make-up will ensure you still look office appropriate while feeling breezy.

The jumpsuit

The summer wardrobe hero – a lightweight jumpsuit in black, navy or white always looks sleek. For a vintage-inspired look, opt for a wide-leg style and for a modern twist, seek out a tailored number to pair with barely-there sandals.

The skirt

A midi skirt will raise your on-duty game to new levels when paired with the right ensemble. Invest in a statement piece – think print, metallic, tulle and pleats – and team it with a simple white shirt or blouse. Finish the look with a mini cross-body bag and nail summer dressing.

The lingerie as outerwear trend is certainly nothing new, but there’s one trend that seems to roll back around every single summer. The slinky slip dress is always on-trend and the likes of Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez always seem to be rocking the sexy throwback look.

The great thing about a slip dress is just how versatile it can be. An ivory-toned floor-length slip can make for a wondrous wedding dress, a red slip dress can look amazing on a night out while a black slip worn with a white tee and a pair of sneakers is your ultimate daywear go-to.

When it comes to styling, layering a plain white t-shirt, blouse or statement shirt is not only chic but very practical too. Ideal from the office to the bar or just for brunch with friends, a slip-style dress over cool contemporary layers is an effortless look.

Simply team your slip with a pair of mules, a messy bun and an IT-bag and whatever the occasion, you’re good to go.

The reality is you don't need a whole lot to make a jumpsuit work and that’s the beauty of rocking one. Want to know ow to wear a jumpsuit this summer? We’ve put together a few simple tips on how to style yours. After all, less is more…

For daytime, opt for a cool boxy or slouchy style and put it on with a pair of sneakers, a drawstring bag and a cool denim jacket.

For work, go for a pussy bow blouse or a slogan tee under your jumpsuit. Add a blazer for an office-appropriate look, or a kimono for a more casual approach. For after dark, wear a check number over a black tee, just like Fashion Director Lisa Aiken, or pair a black jumpsuit with strappy heels for a fail-safe look.

Remember, there are numerous ways to style one jumpsuit so you can wear it from the office to the club.

One of the hottest pieces to own right now is a kimono. Dating back to 14th century Japan, the robe-style jacket has been a street style favorite in recent years and shows no signs of letting up. Although there are  a wide array of lengths, patterns and fabrics ranging from casual to luxe printed silk, a kimono has the power to  instantly jazz up your outfit without much effort.

Our Editors have agreed on the four ways you’ll want to wear your kimono this summer so take note, fashion fans...

Go simple

Choose a pair of high-waisted jeans, a basic tee and throw on your kimono of choice. Pair your outfit with mules or Greek-style sandals for undeniable summer wow factor.

Go tonal

Don your favorite shade of cover-up and opt for a  tonal color from head to toe. No denim necessary, just rock your go-to hue. For the beach

For a great holiday look simply wear your kimono over a one-piece swimsuit and pair it with slides, an XXL beach bag and your signature sunnies.

Do stripes

Don't be afraid to experiment with different prints and patterns. A striped cover-up is your go-to as an alternative office jacket. Pair it with slim fit pants, a blouse, a wicker bag and sunnies for an effortlessly cool look.
