Crop tops are back in fashion, your girl squad's going on summer vacay and Snapchat will document each and every moment - what other reason do you need to start tightening those abs? If you aren't at all motivated by health and wellness reasons, it may help to focus - just a teeny bit - on vanity reasons. 

Joking aside, whatever your shape or size, everyone can benefit from some regular core strengthening sessions! Here are 3 ways you can get super taut abs...

1) To some, it may seem counterintuitive not to focus 100% on your tummy area but doing nothing but sit-ups all day won't get you get any closer to reaching your goal. Aerobic exercise such as running, jumping rope and swimming burns fat all over the body - which means a less belly fat too! 

2) Now that we've established the importance of blood pumping activities like those mentioned above, it's imperative you make time to fit in planks, crunches and sit-ups. Why? However flat your stomach may become, you'll need to strengthen those abdominal muscles for maximum impact. Watch Kayla Itsines, the creator of BBG, show us some ab exercises in the video above!

3) Stop eating/drinking items with added sugar for snacking/thirst quenching purposes. Save your added sugar consumption for yummy things - birthday cake, Krispy Kremes, Haagen-Dazs - and not for products branded "healthy" but pack the same if not more added sugar. Opt for fruit for snacking.
