Denim was once synonymous with basics and staples, but Topshop is here to change that. Their collection of denim pieces range from statement, organza detailed jackets to embroidered jeans and tulle layered skirts.

Denim is, and always will be, a versatile and timeless fabric that exudes casual-chic. However, for a while we got stuck in a perpetual cycle of mom jeans versus skinny jeans, season after season. For AW16 and SS17 denim dominated the catwalks, with frayed hems and ripped detailing updating the classics.

That being said, you can't beat a classic cut and well-tailored pair of jeans! Topshop caters to the masses by offering 'petite' and 'tall' collections, meaning you can invest in timeless denim that will fit like a glove.

Creating a foundation wardrobe is part of growing up, the older you get the most you realise how important it is to have a few key pieces that you can mix and match. Trends are fabulous but they are a lot easier to work with when you have a savvily curated collection of basics.

Every fashion lover knows that there are some pieces that will always look chic and never loose value, for example:

1) A black blazer

Why? Because a black blazer instantly smartens up any look and can transform something casual into smart-casual.

2) A white shirt

A white shirt can make a look crisp, elegant and refined. Simple but oh so effective.

3) Leather trousers

They add an instant edge, plus can transform any look into something that is sartorially progressive!

4) An LBD

No explanation needed. An LBD is every woman's go to evening piece. Timeless and oh so sexy.

5) A Trench Coat

The Parisians know how to do chic, steal this style from them to update your wardrobe.

Investing in the 20 pieces listed in the edit below will save you money, but more importantly time, in future. Working with these basics and building upon them with statement or trend driven items is the most hassle free way to dress, plus there's never the fear of "I've got nothing to wear".

NY based fashion and accessories emporium Chain Candy is founded and run by Lexie Noel, who gives us the inside scoop on what inspires her and how her brand came about!

Read on for our exclusive Q&A with Lexie!

Describe Chain Candy in 3 words...

- Colorful, fun, and expressive.

How did Chain Candy come to be?

When I was in high school, it was hard for me to find clothing that was different from stores I’d shop at in Soho, New York. I felt like everything was the same. I was always a creative individual; I learned the basics of screen printing around the age of 14 & took sewing classes. I took my illustration & started to develop some garments that were personal for just myself.

When I was 17, Chain Candy was born providing made to order garments that are either custom printed or hand dyed, cut & sewn in my studio here in Brooklyn New York.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I get my inspiration from blends of colors and life it’s self. I try to combine them both together for something almost everyone can relate to and won’t find it anywhere else.

What is your favorite piece from your collection available on Shopcade.com?

My favorite piece is my Go Away Pastel Ombre Sweatshirt. I love the colors and the coziness of the sweater, I always get complements and giggles when wearing it!

How would you sum up the Chain Candy customer?

I think the Chain Candy customer and I are the same. The fun out going person always wanting the rad pieces of clothing and jewelry in their closet.

Can you give us a clue about your next collection?

As fall is approaching the next collection will be including some awesome brand new iron on patches and jackets!

Tell us something no-one else knows about Chain Candy...

A lot of people assume I’m a huge company when reality, it’s just me handcrafting each item one by one. It all comes from a small studio!

Ever since Kareena Kapoor Khan announced that she's going to have a baby, she's been putting out outfit after outfit that has convinced us that she's the most stylish mum-to-be in B-town!

Here are our favourites from Bebo's maternity style.

An all-white salwar kameez
Nothing says "back to basics" like this tailored white salwar kameez with a statement necklace.

Pastel blue off-shoulder dress
Kareena proved that having a baby bump is no reason to not get with the latest fashion trends! In this case, she rocked the bare shoulders trend with a baby blue H&M dress while representing B:Blunt at an event.

Black dress + bottle green trench
Kareena was the vision of elegance in a black midi dress and a deep green trench-style cover-up when she spoke on stage at the Global Citizens event.

Floral maxi dress + pink trench
Trenches seem to be something of a favourite with pregnant Bebo! This time, she paired a baby pink maxi jacket with a floral dress while chilling on the sets of her Malabar Gold & Diamonds shoot.

Baby pink off-shoulder dress
Possibly our favourite look of the lot! Kareena was the very embodiment of the pregnancy glow in this adorable pastel pink, off-the-shoulder maxi.

White kurta + scarf
Another simple but cool outfit shows us that you don't have to be super glam to look put together!

Royal blue tunic We must say that this royal blue was perfectly befitting of the begum of Bollywood.

Sabyasachi showstopper
Yep, we saved the best for the last. Remember how Kareena made waves when she walked the ramp for Sabyasachi Mukherjee at Lakmé Fashion Week in all her pregnant glory? What a day that was.

Cuffing Season officially begins in September, but what is it and why has it become such a legitimised thing? Let's discuss the basics-  Cuffing season is when people, during the autumn and winter months, want to stay in rather than go out. The cold makes us antisocial, and after the party months of summer, we all just want to be lazy.

Thing is, if you don't want to leave the house and go out with your friends, then how are you meant to meet new people? How are you meant to have sex? Apparently Cuffing Season answers this dilemma.

Cuffing Season is the phenomenon of cuffing yourself to another person for the colder seasons of the year, and then when spring and summer comeback around you break off to enjoy the warmer months single. Intercourse and intimacy are the two goals of Cuffing Season.

Urban dictionary defines it as "During the fall and winter months people who would normally rather be single or promiscuous find themselves, along with the rest of the world, desiring to be 'cuffed' or tied down by a serious relationship. The cold weather and prolonged indoor activity causes singles to become lonely and desperate to be cuffed". Basically, it's for when you want to stay in side and watch Netflix but want someone to partake in the "chill" part, but on a more secure basis then hookups.

Apparently science even supports this phenomenon! Dr Wendy Walsh has stated that "we're walking around in DNA that's hundreds of thousands of years old. In our anthropological past, there was less food and resources available, and hunter-gatheres' survival happened better if you were in a pack, if you were coupled up". Ok, so evolution may suggest that it's smart, but in modern life does it really have a place? We can't all have our cake and eat it. Single summers and coupled up Christmases are ideal, but not very nice...

No one wants to go to a family parties and get asked "why are you still single?" or be the only one without a S.O. for Valentines day. But if you're happy single and want your summer fun, then it doesn't seem very fair on your Cuffing Season partner to be dragged into all that. Cuffing Season is fine, if it's mutually agreed, but most of the time the other person doesn't realised they've been cuffed.

Someone usually gets attached, and according to Dr Walsh it's the woman- because, evolution. "women have a fertility window that men, frankly, don't -- you will see that women become more invested in their relationships". Ok, so Dr Walsh sounds a bit like she's stuck in the 1950s. But let's just let that slide.

Maybe Cuffing Season isn't as conscious as the viral "Cuffing Season Applications", maybe it's a natural occurrence that happens because cuddles are nice when it's cold.

So Cuffing Season sounds pretty animalistic so far, and not very romantic. But what if is actually beneficial to romance? With the hookup culture we're living in, Cuffing Season brings back serious dating, even if it's just temporary. Plus, people fall in love, so your winter beau could become more than that.

A good cuff (or catch) isn't going to magically appear just because Starbucks have brought back pumpkin spiced lattes. You don't want someone who's just cuddly, because you'll probably have to converse during those six months. Ideally it's someone you already know, and you both mutually want to get cuffed.

Cuffing is a bit of a silly concept, because surely if you find the perfect Cuffing Season partner then they are in actual fact the love of your life. Not just the love of your, currently rather chilly, life.

Be prepared. WINTER IS COMING.

They say you can say heaps about an individual by simply looking at their hair. For instance, curly locks are a sign that the entire wilderness lives inside; luscious a subtle reminder of the abundance the person brings to your life.

We at Shopcade HQ are itching to live life queen-size. Let’s start my mane-taining a larger than life mane. First things first, make sure your hair is well-nourished, which means shampoo, condition, and serum with care. Throw in a good ol’ champ if time permits. The Vitamin E in almond oil is said to give your tresses a good boost.

Once you’ve got the basics right, shift your focus to maximising the ooh-la-la quotient. It all begins with the root. So, you want to make sure your scalp is well-cleansed with no remnant whatsoever. Now, spray in a voluminizer or work in some good ol’ mousse. The quantity varies from person to person.

Once your hair is semi-dry, it’s time to let the blow drier do its job. Run your fingers through the hair while you’re at it, instead of coming in. This adds a nice, lived-in texture. When you’re all set, turn your hair upside down and blow dry some more. Voila! You’re ready to take over the world.

Sartorially speaking, our fave B-Town ladies have been killin' it as usual.

The first on the list is sartorial queen Kangana Ranaut, sporting a white and blue floral midi dress which she teamed with classic nude pumps and snazzy blue sunnies. Ten points to Kangana for pairing a classic, elegant look with a more out-there accessory!

Next comes Priyanka Chopra, who showed off her love for all things black and lacy in this sexy co-ord set.

Diana Penty's outfit was chic AF—a floral black maxi skirt paired with an on-trend cold-shoulder top.

But who said you gotta be fancy to be fashionable? Aditi Rao Hydari proves that you can have a great outfit even if it's super simple when she wore this grey dress!

And we saved the best for the last: Karisma Kapoor, who is perhaps one of the most elegant dressers in Bollywood, stuck to the basics with a classic, well-tailored LBD. We love!

P.S. Don't forget to shop these looks in our edits below.

Dressing for concerts can be tricky, since there are so many different boxes to tick with the same outfit! But no worries, because Shopcade's here to give you all the tips you need to put together the perfect outfit to go watch your favourite artiste perform.

Keep your footwear comfy
Since you're gonna be on your feet for many hours at a stretch, it's best to wear flat, comfortable shoes that won't bite or hurt you through the hours. The best option is boots, since they're comfortable and will allow your feet to stay clean even in the dusty, mucky concert arena.

Be weather-appropriate
Wear a sleeveless or short-sleeved top, and either carry a jacket or tie a plaid shirt around your waist. That way, you won't feel hot, and have something to cover up with if required.

Carry a sling bag
While you can't not carry a bag, since you need someplace to put your tickets, phone, money etc., you shouldn't carry a big, bulky bag, as that can be a pain in the you-know-where when you're mashed in the middle of a crowd. Carry a small sling bag which can accommodate all your basics, and leave your hands free to rock out to the music.

Wear small earrings
Wearing long, dangly earrings to a concert isn't exactly advisable, as you could injure yourself if one of them gets pulled off in the tussle of the excited crowd. Keep your earrings small.

Don't wear too much fiddly jewellery
When you're in a huge place, in the middle of a crowd, head-banging your heart out, it's easy to lose stuff like pendants, rings etc. So keep your accessories minimal, and stick to just a watch, bracelet, and/or a choker.
