From metallics, to florals, classic leather styles and glossy patent iterations, there's no better shoe than a loafer. The go-to of Fashion Editors everywhere, a winner at work and a perfect off-duty staple, the humble loafer goes with everything.

Now, if you can rock a pair of classic Gucci loafers, we have a few tips on which editions to opt for and how to style them. If, however, you’re looking for a cool pair at a more affordable price point, we’ve got plenty of tips for you too...

Spend

In recent years the luxury loafer has been refreshed in contemporary palettes, next-level prints and unique textures We love the brocade styles by Gucci, something with a heel and of course, the iconic black backless styles. The timeless appeal means you can pair a black loafer  with pretty much anything in your wardrobe, whatever the season.

Save

The high street carries an incredible array of loafers with some great designer dupes to be found. Indulge in a pair that speaks to you even if it's just for one season – think embellishment, bright colours and statement fabrics. Pair your jazzed-up loafers with muted colours like white and tan and sail through summer in style.

Dare we say it? We love a high street wedding dress, especially as there’s no longer any shame in buying one. The high street has stepped up its game in recent years and offers a wide array of incredibly chic wedding dresses. That's one thing you can cross of your wedding prep list. Believe it or not, celebs are also jumping on the high street bandwagon.

Take Emily Ratakowski's bold mustard jumpsuit by Zara for example. So many affordable brands are stocking amazing wedding dresses to suit every silhouette and style and ASOS is one of our favourite places to look. With a curated selection of gowns starting at $55, their stellar bridal collection followed on the success of the cult bridesmaid selection.

Browse and discover beautifully-crafted gowns from Needle & Thread, TFNC and the ASOS own brand. Choose from silk, detailed lace, one shoulder, strapless or backless styles. You’ll find body-con and boho options and a departure from traditional white with baby blue, to lilac and soft mint on offer.

For a more traditional approach, why not head to Dorothy Perkins for subtly shimmering lace details? The new bridal collection offers figure-skimming cuts and fluted skirts that exude elegance.

Okay so I love backless mules. I have been seeing them everywhere and they're a perfect shoe for the seasonal transition but could definitely be worn all summer. My biggest question about these shoes is that I have very narrow feet - so would they stay on? I can just see myself losing one to a tube track and having to then walk the rest of my journey one-shoe-less. That said they are so beautiful and I've picked these Armani ones as the block red is really fun and fits the block bold colour trend. Image: Armani

Hope you’ve been keeping up with Kourtney Kardashian because the oldest sister in the reality TV clan has really been nailing this cool partnership of late. Belting a denim jumpsuit with utilitarian details at the waist, she slipped her petite frame into heeled mules instantly elevating her outfit from casual to fashion forward. Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine is another repeat offender, but she’s a bit bolder in her mule choices, opting for jewel toned satin rather than plain white leather. We’re all well-versed in how versatile jumpsuits and dungarees are but, as these stylish women prove, mules are an effortlessly great way to dress them up without looking too try hard.

Heeled or flat, open or closed toed, any type of mule can work provided you have the right trouser length. We’d recommend ankle length or higher- all the better to showcase your backless shoes- and a frayed hem, decorative heel or unusual mule vamp will make all the difference. Don’t fuss about the fit: just choose your most flattering style, one you feel comfortable in. That way you can match and clash colours to your heart’s content. Black and white project modernity together, one-tone dressing is currently trending, and metallics go with pretty much everything.

Backless tops are so hot for party season outfits. I love that they can be so versatile, depending on your style or preference you can pair your top with a pencil skirt, some jeans or pants. There's literally so much you can do with them. And wearing a backless top is such a classy way to show skin, for day or night. Feeling like there is something lacking in your wardrobe? Do you have the urge to try something new? There is nothing like finding that key piece to instantly update your look into something on point! Satisfy that longing desire and find a piece that hits the spot.

Here are 5 key summer trends that you must try:

GO BACKLESS: We’ve seen it on bloggers and influencers strutting around fashion week, it's ideal for the hot summer months and great for some subtle sexiness.

TIE THE KNOT: Add bows and ties to simple silhouettes. We’ve seen this from the fashion gurus Zimmerman and Isa Arfen. And luckily for us, it’s been translated into tops, dresses, trousers and skirts all over the high street.

THE SLIP DRESS: Simple and elegant, its a staple for the summer. Wear it on its own or layered with a t-shirt for a more casual look.

THE ONE SHOULDER: We’re seeing this trend over and over again, from catwalk to high street its dominating the fashion scene and a great way of getting that instant fashion fix!

RUFFLES: The ruffle has a new twist, its playful and fun and easy to wear. Wear a ruffle skirt with a slogan tee like top influencers Pandora Sykes and Camille Charrière.

Acne sufferers will all have wished at some point that pimples, blackheads and whiteheads reared their ugly heads anywhere BUT the face. However, acne on the body ain't no picnic either - especially during the summer months when all we'd like to do is bare our backs in slinky slip dresses and backless tops. See below for tips and tricks to minimise and clear the appearance of bacne...

Cleanse: Staying away from heavily perfumed body washes can help lessen the impact of bacne. Use a PH balancing body wash/cleanser such as sensitive skin expert Clinique's Anti Blemish Solutions Cleansing Bar for Face and Body daily to clear clogged pores and clean your skin of any impurities.

One of the biggest mistakes acne sufferers often make is to wash or scrub affected areas vigorously in the hopes a thorough clean will eliminate the problem. Keep in mind that gentle lather and rise is all that's needed - your back isn't more dirty than anywhere else on your body; you'll simply end up irritating the affected area even more and this could result in inflammation or acne scarring.

Scrub: Investing in a good body scrub is imperative for bacne sufferers. While cleansing is something that should be done every day (think of all the grime and sweat that builds up during the summer months), even a gentle and targeted treatment scrub should be used 2 - 3 times a week unless it states it's suitable for daily use. Try Clinique's Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator or black|up Ultra-Exfoliating Cream with Micro-Crystals.

Treat: Once you're squeaky clean, it's worth applying a spot treatment to the affected area. Murad's Clarifying Body Spray is easy to apply to the back and specifically targets body blemishes!
