The beauty industry offers up new products every day and increasingly, we’re seeing a trend for personalization. We’re now able to add boosters to existing products, custom mix our own foundation and day cream, fill out questionnaires about our lifestyle, or receive tailored recommendations according to our individual needs.

Even if you don't buy into filling out questionnaires or opt for DNA testing for your skin, you at least need to test a product before deciding whether it’s the best choice for you.

So how can you personalize your beauty routine? Well, there are a few ways to make a start…

Get a beauty box subscription

If you don’t fancy scouring the stores for a range of  different beauty products to try, you can simply subscribe to a monthly beauty box service. There are plenty to choose from and you can opt for plans that last three, six or even 12 months.

See an expert

Once you’ve found brands and products you love with the help of a subscription box, hit up the professionals that work for and with those products. Book in to see a skincare expert and make-up artists who know the products inside out and get their advice on what’s right for you.

Use an app

Tech is blowing up the beauty industry and there are already a ton of apps that make it easy to figure out which products are right for you. Search the app store and download anything from foundation shade simulators to skin scanners.

Doesn't Rihanna look like a mermaid in this new cover of Vogue?  While channeling her Pisces energy, I love that she has such a sultry but natural makeup look.  The makeup was done by Lisa Eldridge one of my favorite makeup artists and I really like how she kept all the drama on Rihanna's iconic eyes, leaving her skin bronzed and bare at the same time. beautiful work. photo credit: @vogue on twitter #makeup #beauty #rihanna #lisaeldridge

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few years, you’ll no doubt have heard of Charlotte Tilbury. The make-up artist and IT-girl is renowned for her glamorous, romantic aesthetic and is the go-to for models and celebrities everywhere.

A few of Charlotte Tilbury’s creations have even gained cult status in the world of beauty blogging – see the Pillow Talk lip collection – and there are definitely a few bits and pieces our Editors can’t live without. Whether you’re an avid fan or trying the brand for the first time, we’ve rounded up the essential make-up and skincare picks to invest in below…

A lightweight SPF15 foundation, this formula contains a plant-based retinol to boost collagen production, creating a perfect make-up base. Pseudo-ceramides also help to keep your skin hydrated for up to 18 hours which makes for a pretty great foundation.

With vitamins and elastomer pearls, this hydrating complex keeps your skin plumped moisturised for a glowing finish. A Lipo-Siliconic compound helps to cover any imperfections without caking on the skin, filling in lines instead of highlighting them.

Four shades that suit every skin tone make this an obvious favourite. Use them individually or blend the long-lasting colour for work, the weekend, off-duty, after dark and beyond.

With winter Daphne stem cell extract and red algae marigel, this nourishing eye cream is a hit. Time-released retinol molecules refine the skin around the eye to help you look fresh hour-by-hour – great for those long days when tired eyes can make you look wiped out.

The number one product loved by make-up artists, beauty editors and bloggers everywhere, this paraben-free liner lasts up to six hours with no smudging and the waterproof colour stays put making it great for dinner, drinks or just a perfect all-day pout.

This handy wand contains firming eye cream including cyclodextrins, hyaluronic acid, rice proteins & bio extract of Salicornia. Great for brightening shadows, neutralising tones and minimising dark circles with mother-of-pearl and polypeptides, the concealer contains silky elastomers to smooth out lines. Carry this for an eye-brightening touch up on the go.

Finally, a liquid lipstick that doesn’t feather. This long-wear lippie contains beeswax to hydrate lips and anti-ageing sea lavender with hyaluronic acid and firming actives for smooth, plump lips. Just use the clever curved applicator add a slick of this to brighten your look day or night.

A paraben-free lipstick in the perfect vampy shade, the Matte Revolution lipstick contains orchid extracts to soothe, protect and moisturise lips. Triglycerides mixed with a perfect blend of oils and waxes means your lips look great and feel good with minimal effort.

It’s no secret that we’re fans of Alexa Chung. The model, writer, IT-girl and now designer is always ahead of the curve when it comes to her style. Her influences are myriad, from punk to Victoriana, and we love the creative references in her own collections too.

Alexa’s latest collection is inspired by Bloomsbury Set – a group of artists and writers – and the wild, eclectic decor at their Sussex country retreat, Charleston House.

Alexa Chung launched her eponymous label ALEXACHUNG this year and was keen to honour her British roots with the new designs. The label combines Parisian chic with a New York edge and a British sense of humour.

We’re head over heels for the dreamy images on the Alexachungstagram feed, shot at Charleston for SS18. The Virginia collection, inspired by Virginia Woolf, features white boho dresses, statement floral prints and illustrated silk scarves and tees in Alexa’s signature quirky style.

Nanushka was born in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, more than a decade ago, but is finally getting under the spotlight. If you spend your days cruising on Instagram, you definitely saw the brand's design: maybe a dress, a coat... fashionistas love it! From Song of Style to NYC Bambi, without forgetting the French it-girl Caroline de Maigret, they all wear Nanushka.

It's hard not to fall for its amazing outerwear, their famous lilac wrap dress.

We had the chance to meet Sandra Sandor, the designer behind the brand, during Paris Fashion Week, for an exclusive interview, to chat about the story of the brand and what we should expect in the future.

Shopcade: What brought you to fashion ?

Sandra: Actually, it was a given way for me because my mother was a children's wear designer in the 70s prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. Dressing was always a very important self-expression form for me. I wasn't sure that I wanted to become a designer until the age of 17. Then, I thought that I really want to try to study fashion design and it was very interesting because you know, in Hungary, there is no history in fashion and there aren't many fashion schools. I really wanted to study fashion somewhere where it was very relevant.

After studying in the London College of Fashion, I went back to Budapest were Nanushka began, back in 2006.

How do you define Nanushka's style?

S: We usually think of ourselves as a bridge between intuitive and functional design. The clothes that we will keep loving and will become our wardrobe staples are those in which we really feel comfortable in as well. So, we try to execute this also in the design from the choice of fabric. We try to make everything washable. Nothing gets very wrinkly. It's comfortable wear for every season and good for both seasons. Of course, we do have fur coats for winter, but it has a soft feel.

I don't think trends are ad-hoc things they reflect our surroundings and the people around us. Nanushka, from a design perspective is trying to be relevant for the era we live in.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

S: My main source of inspiration as a designer it to try to create harmony, while mixing very distant cultural references, like Western with Oriental or Far Eastern. Actually, these two have been permeating through our collections. Sometimes even for three seasons, we kind of have a theme that carries over and we maybe add an extra inspiration. As a designer, I don't want to jump in too quickly.

The next season is already coming, but I like to keep the inspiration flowing for longer. Mixing the Wild Western boots with Far Eastern culture has been going since Resort 18, carried over to our SS18. For Pre-Fall 18/19, we added 90s Berlin colors and silhouettes, as well as vegan leathers.

Also, as a general inspiration, the traveling state of mind really inspires me. When you travel, you're very receptive, very open and almost like a child state of mind, and comfort becomes essential.

How do you want women to feel when they wear your clothes?

S: I really want them to feel confident, easy, effortless.

Called the label to watch by fashionistas, how do you feel about social media ?

S: Social media really helped us grow. We kind of think of ourselves as a lifestyle brand. We try to make our social media platform a moodboard of our brand and also a source of inspiration. Influencers is our secret in a way. We never pay for partnerships, but we work with influencers who represent our brand values. I think it's important for a brand to give to the right people, no with the biggest followers, because their followers are similar to ours.

What's your favorite piece from the current collection ?

S: From the SS18, our tiger-inspired print made with watercolor painting, and digitally printed on fabric fabric is my favorite. We made a pair of long pants from it called Nevada pants, inspired by pyjama pants from Coco Chanel in the 30s or 40s. She was the first woman to wear pyjama pants as a daily wear I think.

What should we expect for the future collections ?

S: The values and clashing cultures as a source of inspiration will definitely remain, I think it's important to highlight where I come from. Hungary has always been an intersection of East and West. The German Empire had a big effect on us, as well as Turkish culture and the Parisian Belle Epoque.

At the turn of the century, travel was open for everyone. Hungarians and artists came to Paris to get some inspiration and change their values etc. So, when you come to Budapest, you'll find a Turkish bath on one side of the street, next to Brutalist buildings on the other side. So it's a mix of cultures.

But going back to how I imagine my future collections, I think we're going to develop, while our core brand values and sources of inspiration remain. And spice it up with the season's trends. A good balance.

If you had to pick only one piece you created, which one would it be?

S: Hard question! But I love outerwear and our brand is really known for that. So I would probably pick a coat, specifically a robe coat.

What are your do's and don'ts when it comes to fashion ?

S: I don't really believe in do's and don'ts. I think you can get away with anything if you put it in the right context.

What is the must-have of every outfit?

S: The right pair of shoes, they define the whole outfit in the end. But I could also say that a good pair of jeans is a must.

This Fashion Month make up artists began to move away from the classic smokey eye and towards something a little brighter. Block colours were splashed across every show from the shoes to the eye shadows and one my favourite instances of this Romero Jenning's look for Talbot Runhof. He went for vivid colours like this azure blue and zig zagged across the eye lid. This is such an easy look to recreate and one I am definitely down for trying myself. As we go into spring I guess it's no surprise that our make up inspo is becoming as dewy as the grass beneath our feet. Since moving to London my skin has been battling the harsh city air so I've been trying to give it a bit more love. I recently bought some Glossier products - Milky Jelly Cleanser, Balm Dotcom and the Priming Mosturizer. I have very quickly fallen in love with all three products and my skin is looking clearer than it has for months. It just so happens that my buying this skincare set has coincided with the glossy skin make up look. Make up artists have been laying down the heavy products and reaching for primers, strobes and glowing moisturisers. This is the perfect look as we start to head towards summer when a light base is always better. It's also a look that your skin will thank you for. Image: Indigital

After 15 years on the West coast, the 60th Grammy Awards moved east, in New York City,  at Madison Square Garden on January 28th. Memorable moments from the ceremony include Kesha's #MeToo performance against sexual harassment while Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance. Bruno Mars was the bigger winner of the night snatching Best Record, Album and Song of the year. Major artists like Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, SZA, Cardi B and Camila Cabello took the Red Carpet and the stage in amazing outfits for music's most mesmerizing night.

Lady Gaga appeared in a long black gown by Armani, sporting also a  huge rock on her finger sparking rumours of an engagement to her beau.

It was a tomato red strapless gown by Vivienne Westwood Couture for former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello. She paired the sleek gown with precious silver jewellery and a tiny diamond-encrusted bag.

SZA showed off her newly toned bod in a naked dress by Atelier Versace and complimented it by adding Chopard jewellery.

A very pregnant Chrissy Teigen showed off her belly proudly in a sparkly silver number and Chopard jewellery paired with strappy heels and a tiny clutch for her bare essentials.
