The clear plastic bag is one that every brand is designing, but there is only one brand that makes it classy - Chanel, of course. It sort of reminds me of something I'd take to the school disco; bright and plastic, but Chanel have but their own spin on it for us adults. The classic Chanel chain is still incorporated but in baby pink and just look at the aqua blue. Inspired by the disco, ideal for the club. Image: Chanel

2018  is all about mood-boosting fashion. From glam beauty to sparkly sheer dresses, metallic boots and silver or gold details the moto is life-celebratory. That joie de vivre is especially captured in the recent dress trends for 2018, that even though they are emerging during the cold, dreary winter months there's absolutely nothing dreary about them. So if you're on the lookout for uplifting mood-enhancing frocks you came to the right ... season. Try them with tights, ankle boots, flats or thigh-high creations. Sport them with minimalist accessories or extravagant numbers like feather earrings or studded boots. Just have a look below to find out how you can sport the new dress trends this season without fail!

BRIGHT HUES

The trend for bright bold colours emerged a few seasons ago with the 70s resurgence. But lately, the colour palette of the seventies ranging from khakis, brows but also bright shades like ultraviolet, aqua blue and mustard yellow has focused on the latter. Take your pick of moss greens, reds, blues, orange, and purple. Try them with neutral accessories and don't hesitate to combine them, for example, take Jeanette Madsen's cue for a green and orange combo.

POLKA DOTS

The trend for polka dots blew up last year with most influencers posting a shot of them in a patterned number. This year the trend has incorporated a puffer sleeve to the mix such as over at Isabel Marant and Rejina Pyo. Try them with a pointy pair of white ankle boots and some gold accessories for that elusive 2018 twist.

WINTER FLORALS

What's the difference between Spring and Winter florals you ask? It's all about the fabric. Opt for a rich fabric like velvet, or corduroy and opt for patterns that carry a vintage vibe. They feature wallpaper patterns, ruffled shoulders high necklines. In other words, Victorian chic at it's best.

Are you ready to sport the new dress trend? Head to our gallery for more inspiration and shop your favourite styles from our expert edit below!

‘Life in plastic, it’s fantastic” sang Aqua in the Nineties hit ‘Barbie Girl’ but we’d definitely disagree now that some horrifying evidence and stats have come to more prominent light. A recent Refinery 29 article revealed that plastic takes at least 450 years to break down after reaching the sea: even if it’s ground down into tiny pieces. That means ecosystems are affected as wildlife eat and/or get stuck in it and the food chain too because fish and salt can contain plastic traces as well. Just let that sink in for a moment and consider the fact that almost everything is packaged in or made more durable using plastic- food, beauty products, clothes… You can’t say the environmentalists didn’t warn us.

If you’re wondering how you can reduce your plastic consumption, you’re already doing it. The 5p charge for plastic bags in the UK that you probably curse when you forget your canvas bag at home has already seen a 83% drop in usage since 2015. And plastic microbeads formerly found in cosmetics are banned. Iceland became the world's first supermarket to ban plastic packaging this week. Next up is a possible ‘latte levy’: a 25p charge on single use coffee cups which are apparently plastic-lined and therefore not biodegradable. Pret’s offering a 50p discount if you bring your own cup for your morning hot beverage and other companies have followed suit. Don’t forget about plastic water bottles either, and soon the straw in your cocktail or milkshake will disappear or be paper instead of plastic as more business ban them.

To fight plastic pollution more proactively, we’ve rounded the best reusable cups, straws and bottles around right now in our edits below.

The Chandon Party Starter Event took place in Mumbai over the weekend, and we spotted Bollywood stars in some pretty chic outfits. Here's our roundup of the best ones!

Kalki Koechlin
Kalki looked beautiful in a strappy aqua blue dress by Amy Billimoria. We think the colour complimented her super well!

Sarah Jane Dias
Sarah Jane Dias decided to ditch the usual choice of wearing a dress on the red carpet, and instead went for a black Shriya Som jumpsuit and classic black pumps. Chic power dressing at its best!

Kangana Ranaut
Kangana was another one who decided to give the dress bandwagon a miss. Instead, she wore an all-black outfit in which she looked edgy and, well, quintessentially Kangana.

Malaika Arora Khan
Malaika is known for her super chic and glam sartorial choices, and this event was no exception. She rocked our socks off with a short, black and gold Balmain number, and Casadei heels.

Happy birthday Aquarius! Being a total aqua babe, your signature style centres upon a palette of blue and aquamarine shades; as much as you can pull off mismatched prints and eclectic shapes, you're heavily suited to fluid, draping fabrics.

For 2016, embrace your quirky side with accessories such as Carerra's 85/S sunglasses from Monnier Freres and the Pandora Moments leather bracelet in turquoise. As for your beauty look, it never hurts to complement your natural face make-up with a dash of vibrant coloured lipstick and bold, strong brows!

Famous Aquarius fashionistas include Mia Farrow, Isabel Lucas, Paris Hilton, Emma Roberts, Chloe Moretz and Jennifer Aniston.

It's the Battle of the Teens Time...Last night the Teen Choice Awards was broadcasted as millions tuned in to cast their votes.

As some of the biggest names in music, TV, film and fashion battled it out, unsurprisingly One Direction scooped a majority the prizes (Yes, even without little hottie Zayn).

Yet the part we all [secretly] love is what the A-list celebrities actually wore- yes that is their OOTN (Outfit Of The Night). Credit goes for a sophisticated but a fun and slightly playful look!

Therefore our best dressed favourite, who was voted teen style icon is Miss Britney Spears. Dressed like a Frozen princess the style icon stole the show with a high-low floral imprinted dress from Mikael D’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection.

To top-off the look Britney’s hair was dip-dyed in a purple and aqua blue colour. Looking pretty and sexy, we’ve fallen in love with Britney all over again- OOPS, We've done it again!

Swipe right to see our best dressed list and below for how to get the look.
