As we welcome 2018, we tend to make plans about the goals we want to achieve in the new year. It's time to be more organised, more productive and less burnout. Which is why we have compiled a list of the best productivity hacks you can employ straight away.

Get on the App Game

If you want a quick productivity boost you can start by downloading a few apps. From todoist, calendly, and task rabbit you can track habits, make notes, set up reminders and track your progress!

Follow the 10 x 5 *2 Rule

This is not a complicated Mathematical formula you need to solve. The (10+2)*5 simply means 10 minutes work + 2 minutes break multiplied by 5, completing 1 hour. Set a timetable Purchase a notebook and start making a strict schedule not allowing time for social media, turn off all email notifications and set time for a break too.

Do a ten-minute workout

Try an easy short workout in the morning. Exercise releases "endorphin" a happy hormone that can make you feel more relaxed and prone to focus.

What are you planning to achieve this year? Get a cool organiser or notebook from our expert edit below and start your journey to success!

1. Adidas
2. Gucci
3. Christian Dior
4. Chanel
5. Rolex
6. Louis Vuitton

We’ve all dreamed of having a perfect Instagram feed with thousands of followers, but realising that today Instagram can quite literally be a full-time job, many of us have given up.

Luckily, we have a few simple tips that will instantly make your feed look amazing.

Choose a theme
Sticking to a theme is very important to make your Instagram feed look good. Some of our favourites are the minimalist theme (very bright with a lot of white), sticking to a particular colour, or even having only quotes in the left-hand-side column.

Have a consistent filter
For a neat looking feed, you should stick to a specific filter. We recommend using apps on which you perform the same edit every time and our favourites are vsco, after light, and faded.

Vary your posts
Be creative and play with different angles and subjects to keep your followers interested. No one wants to follow an account that posts only selfies… If you’re looking to switch it up, trying adding a photo of your style icon for example, they usually perform really well!

The ensemble must look good
The key to an aesthetically pleasing feed is making sure your new photo matches the 1st and 3rd photos. For example, if you feel like they are quite detail heavy, the newest photo should be clean and simple to balance it out. A quote, a scenery picture or even a empty coloured photo will do the job!

Keep captions brief
The trick is to have a short caption and to hashtag selectively. Be sure to skip the trending hashtags, adding #girl #cute #tanktop #blog #love #followme is never a good idea. Firstly, those hashtags don’t work, secondly, they’re annoying to everyone and thirdly, they don’t make any sense.

Tag brands
If you post a lot of photos with clothes, be sure to tag the brands. If you’re lucky, they’ll repost your image, and even if they don’t, you’ll still be in their tagged photos section.

Now let the followers roll in...

No-one's perfect, but that's no excuse to be unreasonably jealous. Us girls are out here tryna shake the 'psycho girlfriend' tag, so help the team and reign in your jealous behaviour a little. If you do these 6 things, then you are a jealous girlfriend. And no, not the kind of jealous where it's justified or shows you care, the kind where 'stalker' pops to mind.

1. You FB Stalk Every Girl He's Dated

...and you stalk them on a regular basis. If you know she went to Paris this weekend, then you've gone way too far. A inquisitive look on your significant other's ex girlfriend's page is normal, not healthy, but normal- to check it daily, and find out even detail about her isn't. There's a reason she's in the past, and that they're not together anymore, so give yourself more credit.

2. You Check When He's Online

WhatsApp and FB messenger are your BFFs because they tell you when he was last active, and therefore if he's ignoring you. Ok, he shouldn't be avoiding your convos but maybe it's for innocent reasons. Or maybe it's because you're an OTT jealous GF who won't let him live.

3. You Lie To Make Him Jealous

So in reality the only guy who hit on you today was the homeless dude who hangs around your neighbourhood, but the version you tell him, it may as well have been Brad Pitt's younger, better looking, brother. Or you lie and say your ex has hit you up. He should already know how lucky he is, jealousy isn't the right way to bring that out of him. Would it make you feel lucky if his ex wanted him back? Or would it make you feel insecure and angry? Yeah, thought so.

4. You Read Into Everything He Does

A friend of mine legitimately uses the 'Find Your Friends' app to stalk her boyfriend's whereabouts. She plans how long his journey home takes to make sure he isn't lying about where he's been. Seriously, not normal or ok. Your other half has a life, and you need to let them live. Imagine how annoying and controlling it would be if someone asked you 100 questions every time you went to the shops.

5. You've Created Fake Profiles

Please, please, please don't do this. If you don't trust them to this extent then the relationship is never going to work, and you need to call it quits. And work on yourself. Seriously.

6. You Snoop

Looked through his phone multiple times? Even rummaged through his trash? Get excited when you get the opportunity to do these things? Then take a long hard look at yourself, because you need a reality check. This is invasion of privacy. This is you ruining the trust, not him.

The green-eyed monster is not a cute look, yes we're all guilty of occasionally getting carried away but if these 6 points are familiar to you, and frequent, then you're an out of control jealous girlfriend. Check yo'self before you wreck yo'self babe.

James Preece aka The Dating Guru and Alexander Ziff aka founder of Ciao dating app, say that there are 5 tell-tale signs to look out for when figuring out if someone likes you romantically. Life saver, ammiright?! Hopefully there should be no more awkward-lunge situations or "Oh, I thought we were just friends" convos.

1. Closing The Gap

If someone likes you, like that, then they'll do their best to break down the personal space between you. This could be touching your arm or moving their chair closer.

2. Rapid Blinking

"WTF" was our first reaction to this one, but it does make scientific sense. They're blinking more because of the prolonged eye contact combined with excitement which forces their eyes to dry out.

3. Talking & Teasing Lots

Men are conditioned to boast as an attempt to impress, so if they're showing off more than usual, this could mean they're attracted to you. Both men and women tease as a form of flirting, even in adulthood.

4. Noticing Little Changes

Wearing your hair differently? Do they notice? If they do, that means they romantically like you- because they're paying extra attention to the smaller details.

5. Playing Hard To Get

This is an annoying one, but still a sure sign. They don't want to appear to keen in case they turn you off- try not to count them out straight away if they seem to be playing hard to get.

Isn't the term 'Sunday Funday' just the most annoying, completely false term? Sunday, around 4 p.m. to be precise, we all sigh in unison. Sunday night fear is something we all fear, but often just turn into a jovial story, but it's a legitimate thing. Even science says so.

In 2013 Monster.com did a poll, where they found that 81% of American respondents said they get Sunday-night-blues, with 59% describing them as "really bad". Is there a solution? Well, there isn't a cure (apart from maybe eloping to Hawaii) but there are ways to reduce Sunday night anxiety.

Be Organised

This is a very boring tip, but arguably the most important. We all have that habit of letting off steam on Friday and Saturday, which means by Sunday we haven't done any of our admin or chores. Rather than leave it all to Sunday, space it out. An hour on Friday evening and Saturday day will make Sunday far less daunting. No one likes cleaning, paying bills or begrudgingly shuffling off to family events. But we have to do them. So just get them over with.

Be Sociable

We all want to avoid adult life on a Sunday, and usually spend it hungover in bed with a pizza box on one side of the bed and regret on the other. But get up, get over that hangover and see your friends. Having a pity party on Sunday is only going to make your mood worse. Don't go cray, because the only thing worse than Monday mornings are hungover Monday mornings, but do something active/fun. Grab brunch with your friends and then hit a yoga class.

Quit Your Job

This isn't any easy solution, but if you absolutely dread going to work every week, then you're in the wrong job. Work is work, but unless you do something you love or at least tolerate, then there's no point. We spend more time in the office then at home, so it has to be a place you enjoy. Life is too short.

Be Positive

Maybe the problem isn't the job, maybe it's you. If you've tried multiple careers and you still get this feeling, then you're either seriously unlucky or it's to do with your mental state. Saying be "positive" makes my blood boil, but the sentiment is there. Mindfulness apps, self-help books, therapy or simply talking about it with people you love- voicing what exactly your dreading and why will help you decide if it's the job, or you, or both. Basically, talking helps, it's cathartic.

'Tis the season for heartbreak apparently. The Sunday just gone, 11th of December, is the day you're most likely to break up with your Significant Other or get dumped. So if this happened to you, don't worry you ain't alone. And the festive cheer doesn't stop there, today (Wednesday 14th) is the least romantic day of the year. *yay*.

Dubbed 'Anti-Valentines Day', a study from eHarmony.co.uk has found that increasingly, financial pressure and work responsibilities are behind the lack of romance, while one in ten daters are simply trying to save money by avoiding having to get a new partner a Christmas present.

21% of singles go on less dates in December than any other time of year, which makes sense- Christmas can add a lot of pressure to new relationships, plus the month is already full of commitments to friends and family.

Apparently temperature also plays a part, 'cus we don't want to leave the house when it's this bloody cold. 32% of fellas say that it's too cold to date in December, with only 12% of women agreeing.

So yeah. Happy 14th of December, officially the least romantic day of the year. Fab. Brb, just gunna go cry into a tub of ice-cream...

What is more important than having a big Instagram following? Nothing, it is where all your self worth should derive. I jest, of course. But having a big following can be used for good- it can help your career and be a great platform to express yourself.

Want to be #Instafamous, just for being your fabulous self? Well if you have a lot of spare time and dedication, then it's achievable. Follow these top tips, and in no time you'll be racking up thousands of followers.

1. Have a cute pet
This is arguably the fastest and most effective trick to get more followers. Look at @buddyboowaggytails. Buddy, Boo & Blu have an impressive 623k followers. It's a seriously cute account with witty captions. Now, if you want all the attention then this may not be the best route to go down because it'll be your pup in the spotlight, not you.

2. Have a theme
Succesful Instagram accounts tend to have a theme which they stick too, especially for a fashion based accounts this is a must. For example, @emilycocklin, who's insta is a visually pleasing curation. Make sure it looks cohesive and think of it like a blog rather than a Facebook page for images.

3. Have a schedule
If your followers get use to your schedule they'll come back at that time consistently. Post daily at least, and try to pick times when traffic is high. For example in the morning during people's commutes and in the evening after work.

4. Interact with your followers
Like the humble ruler you are, you don't mind speaking to the lay people. Respond to commenters and like their images back. Don't be that d*ck who won't tell people where you bought something from.

5. Edit your images
The latter points don't matter if your images are poor quality. Use apps like VSCO CAM, Afterlight and Facetune. Don't go OTT though, it's very obvious when someone has blurred out all their features.

6. Find a niche
Look at @cuteboys_withcats, such a simple idea but thoroughly effective. Finding something unique will make your account popular, it doesn't have to be revolutionary. Maybe if food is your thing then stick to one diet, like vegan.

If you follow those top tips I'm sure you'll be #Instafamous in no time...

5. Instagram
On blame les filtres. Et les stories.

4. Facebook Messenger

Double dates went out of fashion for a while, but they're back in favour with millennials after dating apps made them cool again- like the app Double, as seen on Dragon's Den, and Tinder's new 'social' feature. We debate in a final showdown, are double dates lame or a fun way to date?

For

1) They can diffuse awkwardness. If you're dating someone your friends know or have set you up with, this provides a common ground which can make the first or second date a little less stressful.

2) If you're in a longterm relationship and so is your BFF, a great way to get your SO's to bond is a double date. You and your girl can gossip, forcing them to make conversation, and before you know it you're the 4 best friend's anyone could have.

3) New friends. It's always great to meet new people and expand your social circle, so going on double dates with people you don't know that well could open up new possibilities.

4) This is a pro for you and your BFF, not so much your SO. Double dates are a brilliant way to interrogate your pal's new man, without it being intimidating/super obvious.

Against

1) Comparisons. Your date turns up late, in old jeans, and a little drunk. Your friend's date arrives in a suit, with flowers and chocolates. Smug pr*cks.

2) One couple is always waaaaay more PDA than the other. You and your beau just want to eat your spaghetti in peace, not watch a live porno happen across the table.

3) If you or the other couple have an argument, things get a million times more tense. What's protocol if one couple break up? Do you carry on eating the meal? Do you pretend it didn't happen? So many questions, so many potentially awkward situations. We'll pass thanks.

4) Flirting, with the wrong person. If it's a first double date switches may happen, and that's just plain weird.

5) You can roll your eyes at your beau, but when your mate's beau is being annoying that's not quite as acceptable. Basically, double dates nine times out of ten are horrible. And a bad idea.

If you're in a long term relationship and you're already great friends with another couple then it's a lovely thing, but more of a catch up then a double date. First date double dates are never as fun as they sound, trust me.
