Plaid is a must in our wardrobes this season. Every autumn plaid coats and scarves are seen on the streets here and there, but this season it is literally everywhere from pantsuits to mini-skirts. Upgrade your wardrobe with some coloured plaids instead of the beige and grey ones you are used to. Don't hesitate to mix and match other patterns to stand out in the crowd!

It's been another great Fashion month and now with PFW drawing the curtain we can round up the best moments and predict the trends that will inform the next Spring/ Summer season!

OVERALL TONE: GLAMOUR MEETS GLITTER!

We've seen a shift from blunt norm core to glitz and frivolity and after fashion month it's evident that this trend is here to stay. Designers want to celebrate the joy of life during darker times. Dries van Noten dedicated her collection to "The Optimist", who knows how to break the rules. The sneaker gave way to its more glamorous version of the Manolo - as a nod both to the glitz and glam but also to the Carrie Bradshaw look that defined the early 00's resurgence that we're experiencing now. We also saw puffed hemline dresses at Saint Laurent, as director Anthony Vaccarello paid a tribute to Pierre Berge, Yves Saint Lauren't long time business and life partner. The end result was a beautiful show of feathers, frills, shimmer and satin. Alessandro Del' Acqua's creations emphasized on big satin separates and glittery dresses full of bold patterns and colours. At Maison Margiela, John Galliano's version of glitz was crystals, feathers and mirror embellishments on coats and dresses. Makes you want to party no matter what.

PANTSUITS AT CELINE

Tennis Club de Paris: Phoebe Philo showcases a stunning collection at a giant-tent bubble structure while Mary J. Blige's rendition of "You're All I Need", blasted through the speakers. The runway was flocked with extra wearable garments for example oversized suits with large trench coats reminiscent of an 80's power businesswoman. The colour palette was equally 80s scrumptious meaning pistachio pastel pink and fair yellow. Another element introduced by CELINE was extreme fringing on the hem of flapper-style dresses. When it came to accessories the theme was volume: oversize totes, balloon like clutches, big gold buckle belts, and chunky white lace oxfords.

HELEN MIRREN & JANE FONDA at L'Oreal x Balmain

The location was Paris Champs de Elysees and the occasion was the L' Oreal x Balmain fall 2017 collaboration. The show starred an array of stunning models like Doutzeb Kroues and Liya Kebede and two movie icons Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda. Mirren was dresses in a suit a la garconne while whipping her cane around with prolific elegance and confidence. Jane Fonda on the other hand, threw peace signs and really owned the long runway. A true inspiration seeing two ladies well into their 70s (Jane Fonda turns 80 at the end of 2017) strutting their stuff with pride.

VIRGIL ABLOH RECREATES ICONIC DIANA SUITS

More specifically, Abloh took the people's princess most wearable looks as an inspiration board just four weeks after the 20th anniversary of her death. The challenge was to re-invent those items without sacrifising them and coming up with a collection that would be in line with the current fashion climate. The result was briliiantly made tartan suits, graphic prints, prim coctail suits, polished whites, polka dot suits, and pastel coloured numbers.

Trends come and go but some favourites remain in our hearts and wardrobe because of their uniqueness; and we’re here to reveal to you the biggest trends of the season and why we think these are keepers.

Off-shoulder everything
From New York to Paris to India, off-the-shoulder tops and dresses are one of the biggest trends of 2016. Undoubtedly, these are one of the easiest garments to wear and not only do they look chic but also help you battle the heat with style. Best of all, these are classy silhouettes which you can invest in without thinking twice because they will never go out of style. If you don’t own these already, you may want to give in to the hype and make some priceless investments.

Trainers For Life
Gone are the days when dresses looked good only with a pair of heels. Not only are trainers unbelievably comfortable, they are also one of the biggest style trends this year. You can wear these under almost anything from dresses, skirts, denims, pantsuits to trousers and you won’t make a fashion blunder. Add a touch of quirk and include a patterned or printed trainer for a unique look.

Activewear
Whether you’re travelling or just going to work, a few subtle elements from your gym ensemble can prove quite comfortable and exciting. If casual, chic and modish is your favourite combination; chances are you’re already a master at styling yoga pants with elegant crop tops, shirts, pumps or even classy statement jewellery. Identify this trend and get prepared to make it a part of your everyday life by shopping some of our fav yoga pants from down below.

Bomber jackets
Embroidered, printed or monotone, if you do not own one in your wardrobe, you’re losing the fashion game. Everyone is wearing these and not only can you style them with denims but also rock them on skirts, sneakers or heels. Stay chic and invest in bomber jackets and we promise it will be the best fashion decision you’d make. Shirtdress for all seasons What’s better than a gorgeous shirt?

A shirtdress
Minimal and so fresh, a shirtdress has become a must-have in every wardrobe. It’s a perfect combination of formal and casual and we think this trend is here to stay. Team it up with a leather belt, a statement necklace, a bowtie or a pair of good old heels and you’re ready for any event – formal or informal. Give it a try and we’re sure you won’t regret it.

Have to go to brunch this weekend and wondering what to wear? Want to remain classic but still look effortlessly chic? Well, like always, the answer is white. Our B-town divas show you how you can master the art for that weekend whites.

That LWD
Look effortlessly gorgeous in that LWD you own by matching any accessory you may have tucked away in your wardrobe. Add a cute sling to the look, wear some studded flats and you’re ready to go. To add to the excitement, play around with the fabric of the dress and choose for lace or chiffon instead of cotton. Take a cue from Deepika.

White skirts are forever
A cute white skirt is forever. Wear it with a white shirt, a crop top or even a graphic tee and you’re going to look mesmerising. Tie up your hair in a high ponytail, wear gorgeous pumps and you’re ready for that weekend event you’re most excited for. Bipasha shows you how.

Comfy in palazzos
Take inspiration from Sonam and invest in a pair of comfortable palazzo pants. On days when you want to free your body from fitted clothes, these pants will come to your rescue. Pair them with whatever you like but make sure it is equally loose and comfy. Like her brogues? Yes, we think it may be an excellent idea to walk out in those.

Sexy pantsuits
Athiya Shetty looks hot AF in an all-white pantsuit. To give the look the much-needed twist, it is always a good idea to choose from different fabrics of the same colour. Get inspired by our diva and opt for a netted or lace top to go with your pants and blazer. Work meeting over coffee on a Sunday? Well, we’ve got the outfit covered for you.

Wardrobe essential: white shorts
If you don’t own a pair of white shorts, you aren’t doing it right. A pair of white shorts can always save your sinking ship and no matter what the occasion is, you can pair it with any kind of top or footwear to make a style statement. Extra point to Bipasha for sporting that cute white satchel with her outfit. We’re totally loving it!

Pantsuits are all the rage with the ladies of B-town currently. They look powerful, fashionable, and flattering as heck! Here are some of our fav recent pantsuit appearances.

Katrina Kaif
Kat kept it simple in a white Isabel Marant pantsuit and kept her hair down. Very classic!

Kalki Koechlin
Kalki’s pantsuit of choice was a funky, art-pop Masaba Gupta creation in white and neon pink. Yum! We love how she put a super fun twist to a formal outfit.

Athiya Shetty
Athiya’s white pantsuit said “formal”, but the black bustier peeking through and the black choker said “seductress”! Because who said power dressing has to be straight-laced?

A behind-the-scenes video of the shoot has been released by Estee Lauder and doubles up as the tv campaign for the fragrance itself.

Having witnessed a growing trend in pantsuits this season, we wonder if we'll be seeing deep plunge blazers with nothing underneath on the streets any time soon...
