Would you be up to paying $795 for a pair of recycled Louboutins? Recycling has never been this luxury! The most famous shoe designer has created shoes from craft paper and boxes and wrapped them with PVC using the ‘trash’ technique. Worn by Jennifer Lopez and Gigi Hadid, this recycled shoe has made its name among stars! #recycling #sustainable #louboutin #christianlouboutin #shoes #style #streetstyle

On l'avait même prédit ici même !

Living in as unpredictable a climate as we do in the UK, its hard to know how to dress for the weather. But one thing is for sure, the trench coat is an all year round winner when it comes to style! As far as cover ups go, the trench is excellent for rain or shine, layered in the winter or worn in the summer as a light cover up.

Perfect bridge between winter and spring, the trench coat is undoubtedly a fashion favourite and has been ever since it was invented in 1850. Aquascutum claim to have been the first fashion house to design the classic coat, followed by the famous Burberry trench when Thomas Burberry used garbadine fabric and designed it as an army raincoat.

This hardwearing raincoat has evolved into many different forms since the early 1900s. SS18 reinvented the classic transitional staple, when we thought we had seen it all. Layers, corsets, fringes, Céline, Christian Dior and Valentino amongst others proved that this must have was far from boring.

From the classic beige garbadine coat to satin and leopard print, the evolution of the trench has exploded from corporate to casual. Shopcade has some excellent styles available, from a classic trench to a more rogue design.

With Spring finally here, there is no better time to invest in a trench. We are all looking for that back to sunshine uniform and the ideal coat for milder months ahead. Find your perfect trench coat below, dress it up or down and wear it day in and day out. It will remain a pillar of your wardrobe forever.

One of the most immediate trends to emerge from fashion month was anything and everything plastic. Whether it was see-through opac black made of PVC or vinyl, plastic interpretations were appearing everywhere during AW18. Think long practical raincoats at Burberry, moto futurism at Valentino or Chanel's chic 1960's see-through version including capes and boots.

Even Yeeze caught in on the trend and presented thigh-high tubular boots. Most designers were looking at the trend ironically, attempting to elevate the plastic fabric which is associated with food preservation to a fashion trend. Kind of like 2010's obsession with trash bags.

Street style was also heavily focused on plastic wear especially when it came to rain gear. Admittedly this trend is challenging to wear IRL even though the synthetic fabric has made its way into our mainstream attire starting from the collections of all our sartorial favourites.#000000">

It was Karl Lagerfeld who truly gave PVC an haute couture dimension not only by the artistry with which he crafted the clothes but also by styling them with modern Chanel tweed suits. They were word under feminine hooded rain capes in plastic, denim jackets and skirts were trimmed with plastic fringe while he created low-heeled boots in clear plastic as a luxury alternative to our common rain boot. Similarly, Demna Gvasalia and Acne Studios opted for sleek plastic raincoats.

This season the trend dominated New York and London alike. Philipp Plein was most experimental by layering faux fur and metallic pieces while Jeremy Scott opted for Space age and taking cues from Barbarella in the 1960's.When it comes to styling, work the trend around your everyday essentials instead of adopting a head-to-toe look.

Take influencer Yoyo Cao's example by layering a transparent overcoat over a classic camel trench, white tee and distressed denim. Try a plastic trench belted with a Gucci belt or simply invest in plastic accessories: From a see-through bag to a hat or boots, there's always a more nuanced way to incorporate plastic in your everyday attire.

No more hiding your contents of your bag a secret. Big names like Celine, Calvin Klein and Chanel put their own spin on see-through plastic and vinyl to give their covetable collections a clear edge. It's perfect for rainy Britain too, being waterproof and wipe clean. Most designers were looking at the trend ironically, attempting to elevate the plastic fabric which is associated with food preservation to a fashion trend.

Once relegated to carrying groceries from one place to another, plastic bag is now a IT bag. From Celine £420 version to the Balenciaga £835 one, the transparent bags are everywhere. Reading the description, we can only fall for the Celine version: the finest clear vinyl, finished with the classic logo, a suffocation warning in four languages, two handles and of course, only available in Nordstrom Downtown Seattle.

Are luxury brands trying to send you a message ? Plastic bag should not be disposable, but sustainable. It's time to come back to slow-fashion (and not taking a flight to the US just to get this must-have bag is probably the best solution).

So, is it a yay or nay for you ?

You've seen them on Kaia Gerber, the Hadid sisters can't get enough. It’s the ultimate winter staple and comeback item from the 90’s the era of grunge and tea dresses. It’s the easy way to toughen up any girly outfit and infuse it with some much-needed edge. Even before the Chicago grunge era of Nirvana and Courtney Love combat boots such as Dr. Martens, were causing head waves across the country with the punk rock of movement in all its vinyl, PVC and fishnet glory.

For 2018, the vibe is muted and nuanced. Although we may see lots of touches from the previously mentioned punk trends, the styling now has an amazing way of looking elegant and put together though maintaining that tough, rocker edge.

Combat boots are also surprisingly complimentary to all shapes and sizes. They come with that tiny rubber heel that gives a few cheeky inches to a petite figure. Also, it has a very clever slimming effect. The chunkiness of the boot actually juxtaposes to the calf and elongates the leg as a result. Nothing wrong with that!

Go for a full 90's resurgence look by sporting your combat boots with a frilly tea dress, minimal make-up and a knit cardigan.

Try a student look and style your boots with a pair of denim shorts, a trench coat and a cool red beret.

Opt for an 80's look by adding a LBD and fishnets.

For an up-to-date take on the trend, mix a slip dress under an oversized knit and finish the look with a pair of white Dr. Martens.

Show-goers at NYFW had to bare the weather tantrums including pouring rain. And maybe under any other circumstances, this would be an obstacle but for street style stars this was their opportunity to show off their raining gear. Chanel's Spring 2018 collection, heavy in PVC and see-through elements was a favourite among the stylish editors and influencers including clear plastic footwear and bucket hats.

Another NYFW street style treasure was belted outerwear. Show attendees braced the freezing temperatures by opting for stylish translations of the basic trench coat or by simply belting many different layers all, at once. One of their favourite trenches to wear was Calvin Klein's signature outerwear by Raf Simons.

Others went for a plaid version, with plastic overlay, pastel colours like mint and blush pink or they scrapped the trench completely and opted for faux fur colourful coats but added plastic details like hats and boots.

If you want to incorporate rain gear into your everyday attire go for a head-to-toe plaid look in a muted colour palette like grey, white and black.

Go for a gelato chic approach by blending pastel colours and pastel details.

Finally, go for the colour clash and opt for bold colours juxtaposed with plastic ankle boots and bucket hats. Your world is your oyster!

Vinyl is everywhere. Especially red vinyl and black vinyl trousersç Yet Spring Summer 2018 is getting an update about this shiny fabric. Now it’s transparent and sparkly. Chanel’s Spring Summer 2018 show was literally an overload of transparent PVC raincoats, hats and accessories. This trend is perfect to show off what you’re wearing while protecting yourself from the rain. Remember the transparent thigh high boots trend? Now its not just the boots, it is every single item that you can get your hands on. #PVC #vinyl #trend #transparent #streetstyle #chanel #spring #summer

From Karl Lagerfeld's array of synthetics like plastic and PVC, to sequins and translucents at Acne Studios, future-forward fashion still donned the runways at the recent SS18 fashion weeks. Think Maison Margiela and Balenciaga! But the optimism and high shine of the Space Age emerged a while back on the Fall/Winter 2017 catwalks. Alessandro Michele's unisex Fall/Winter 2017 Gucci show was an extra-terrestrial amalgamation of human and crystal.

Futuristic beauty trends also appeared, like glitter brows, chrome lips, and metallic hues, perfect for adding a dose of sparkle to your Instagram with the Kirakira+ app. Raf Simons' PVC-wrap fur coat for Calvin Klein is also a sensational example of fashion's growing obsession with Space Age Futurism reinterpreted from the '60s. With a shielding PVC overlay, the gold coat felt like an encapsulated treasure. Who wouldn’t want that? Sign us up, please! You know you're in a pure futuristic mode when tinfoil and Comme des Garçons get involved. We’re talking about a tinfoil hat, initially created in the ‘60s, an era ridden with conspiracy theories, to fend off government radio signals.

Concurrently, the space race of the 1960’s and the first moon landings in ‘69 a year after Barbarella appeared on screen, inspired a whole new era of sci-fi glamour that is still relevant today. Fashion has since then always held a soft spot for the future!

Eager to get in on the Space Age theme? SSENSE has a trendy selection of astro-chic, post-apocalyptic inspired outerwear, separates, and accessories. Shop the entire collection in our exclusive edit below!
