In this exclusive interview our Founder Nathalie Gaveau catches up with Véronique Forge-Karibian, Founder of the French site for working women Business O Feminin, to talk work/life balance, fashion, focus and how to get into the back to school mindset for the season ahead...

V: What are your tips for maintaining your zen during the busy 'back-to-school' period?

N: The key is to organize well and take advantage of the summer holidays to sort out the essentials. Plan trips and important meetings, review plans for the last quarter and communicate your goals to the teams you manage. Suddenly, we'll find we have more time for sports and the spa, it's a virtuous circle.

V: Who's been inspiring you this season?

N: Jeff Bezos, he started out 15 years ago with a small online bookstore, was criticised for years by analysts and became a leader in cloud computing. Today Amazon is valued at $1000 billion. What audacity, what tenacity in his vision.

V: What quality do you admire most in women?

N: Adaptability. Business woman, mother, wife, girlfriend, sportswoman, coach, every woman is plural and manages multiple tasks in a day, sometimes to a staggering extent.

V: What's your daily routine like and how do you start your day?

N: I don't really have a routine with my travels between London and Paris but I cannot live without an Earl Grey tea followed by an espresso and kisses from my husband and children first thing in the morning. A poached egg with avocado toast always tempts me and then it's on to emails, dashboards and the day begins.

V: What are your workspace essentials?

N: I'm a bit of a minimalist so I like a white or transparent desk with just my apple Macbook Pro on it. If possible, I like an open space with no walls around me and an inspiring view. From time to time, I'll light a candle like the La Française Sympa.

V: Which books are by your bedside right now?

N: The Love Dictionary of Freedom by Mathieu Laine and a pile of documents. I usually have books on all kinds on business topics. I've recently been reading the 2018 Goldman Sachs Millennial Insights study.

V: Who are some of your favourite fashion designers?

N: Chloé by Natacha Ramsay Levi, Diane Ducasse and always Saint Laurent.

V: What about your 'can't live without' websites?

N: I'm probably more into apps than sites. I use Yoga Studio for my yoga routine, Lumo Lift to help with my posture, Paleo Leap for paleo recipes, Les Echos, Elle, Bloomberg and of course Whatsapp, Instagram, Uber and Deliveroo.

V: What's your motto or favourite quote?

N: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” You must have ambition and persevere on your journey.

If there’s one brand that knows how to do fall to perfection, it’s Coach. Mainstay of cool girls, stylists and celebs everywhere, Coach is synonymous with a laid-back rock’n’roll meets wild prairie aesthetic and of course, those signature shearling and leather pieces.

You can always rely on Coach to offer up a luxe fall jacket or the perfect new-season bag, complete with playful dino charms, but this year the brand has really struck gold.

Perhaps it’s because the rest of the fashion world seems to be embracing the Coach approach to style with ‘70s shearling, snakeskin and muted autumnal tones reigning supreme on the FW18 runways at fashion Week.

Whatever the reason, the brand’s latest ready-to-wear collection is almost too good to be true so we’ve picked out our favourite pieces and the styles you need to know about before they sell out.

If, like us, you’ve been stalking Selena Gomez’s outfits on Instagram for quite some time now, you’re in luck. For the second time, the star has collaborated with luxury heritage brand Coach to bring you the best of her personal style mixed with the label’s New York cool.

While the previous collection she designed with the brand consisted of handbags and leather goods, this time Gomez has introduced ready-to-wear – so now it couldn’t be easier to emulate the singer’s off-duty looks.

Ranging from intarsia knit sweaters and hooded jackets to lace-trimmed slip dresses and faux fur-collared leather jackets, the collection is feminine and fun in equal parts. Plus, it’s instantly recognizable thanks to the playful bunny motif featured throughout.

Selena’s favorite piece? She’s called out the Trail top-handle bag as her go-to accessory for dinner dates, but the Belt bag is a close second thanks to its convenient on-the-go shape.

Now that September's here and New York Fashion Week has graced us once again, it’s time to reflect on the trends we saw on the runways and get excited about wearing them in real life. Here’s our round-up of the top ten trends we loved at NYFW and the ones you'll be seeing everywhere...

Animal print

Already spotted on our favorite street style stars, animal prints ruled the New York runways. Tom Ford’s came in every shape and color you could imagine, but classic leopard patterns still dominate – see Victoria Beckham’s timeless coats.

Western boots

From slouchy over-the-knee shapes to classic cowboy styles, plenty of Western boots were worn on the runway this season. Whichever you choose, show them off with cropped denim or maximalist dresses.

Checks

They may be nothing new, but checks are about to have a major moment. Michael Kors and Calvin Klein 205W39NYC both showed punk-inspired tartan coats – we’ll be wearing them with denim and chunky boots.

Logomania

Logo prints have ruled the street style circuit for several seasons now, and they’re not going anywhere – Alexander Wang’s embellished tracksuits and Tom Ford’s sequined sweatshirts are proof if proof were ever needed.

Neon

Already championed by Kim Kardashian, neon brights popped up everywhere. We loved Calvin Klein’s industrial-style jackets and Tibi’s fluorescent sweaters teamed with low-key camel tailoring.

‘70s brown

Coach and Self-Portrait both showed plenty of ‘70s-inspired brown hues, proving the trend has serious staying power. Try a belted coat or midi dress for a timeless feel.

Colorful suiting

Navy and black will no longer do – suits this season came in every color possible. From candy pinks to pastel blues, any shade goes as long as you’re wearing it from head to toe.

‘80s maximalism

Tom Ford proved the ‘80s are here to stay for another season with purple leopard-print leggings, sequins and shoulder pads.

Modern sports

Sportswear is now a staple on the runway, and this season it came in sleek silhouettes with industrial details – think quilted nylon midi skirts and oversized drawstring pants.

The new utility

Military-inspired pieces make their way onto the catwalk every fall, and with good reason: a classic double-breasted coat or khaki jacket will never go out of style.

A great handbag doesn't have to come at a great price especially when there are so many affordable bags on the high street; but when choosing an oversized bag for your day-to-day you may want to take a few factors into account...

Volume offering

With a hectic everyday schedule you'll need an XXL bag to hold your make-up, phone, perfume, wallet, water bottle and snacks for on the go. If this is the case, opt for an unfussy tote in a simple silhouette that offers depth and width in spades. Avoid all the pockets and zips other bags offer and keep thing straightforward.

Multi tasker

This bag is a master of disguise and looks just as at home in the boardroom as it does on a weekend stroll around the city or a trip to the grocery store. Acting as your briefcase, overnight bag and shopping tote at the same time, in this case it’s essential to go for with pockets zippers and smart compartments to keep everything in its place.

Quality investment

The sturdy top handle, quality leather and detailed stitching are a few things to look out for when choosing your next oversized tote. This baby is going to be your lifeline so you’ll want it to stand the test of time..

Color craze

Just because it’s practical doesn’t mean it has to be boring. This bag is going to be part of your everyday attire so channel your personality and have some fun with it. Love print, colour, classic detailing or boho flair? Opt for an oversized handbag that suits your style.

Having great style doesn’t necessarily mean you should be decked out head to toe in labels. In fact, women with great style rarely opt for conspicuous logos. Mixing high street and designer is an art and so is knowing when to splurge and when to save.

Looking amazing doesn’t cost the earth and our Editors are big fans of affordable brands, especially when they roll out a decent designer dupe or two. We asked them for their tips on how to elevate an outfit, the best designer pieces to invest in and how they make their line-ups look that little bit more polished…

Never underestimate the power of accessories

Can’t afford a designer handbag but can justify that silk scarf? Let’s not forget bag charms and clip-on shoulder straps by the likes of Coach, Fendi, Valentino and Prada. Maximalise your tote’s power to shine with a few high-end additions here and there.

The same goes for your outfit. Tie that silk scarf around your neck, rock a Chanel brooch on your high-street denim jacket and rock expensive jewellery with every look. Jewellery is one of the things worth investing in – you’ll never grow out of it and higher quality pieces will last forever. Plus, most styles are timeless.

Sunglasses are your best friend when trying to achieve that super-polished look and most frames look pretty high-end whether they’re marked with a logo or not.

Do look for convincing designer dupes

From Mango to Zara and even online exclusive brands like Chi Chi, a ton of affordable labels offer great designer dupes. So, if you can’t splash out on runway-fresh styles, rest assured you’ll be able to find a convincing imitation that suits your budget.

We love floral maxi dresses for summer days, chunky buckle belts for off duty, guipure lace for all our big events and cool boxy and boho bags; there are so to choose from this season and all at a pretty reasonable price point.

Buy clothes that fit – tailoring is everything

The most important thing to remember when trying to look chic is that you should be wearing your clothes, they shouldn’t be wearing you. The cut of an outfit makes all the difference so invest in pieces that fit you perfectly and get the ones you really care about tailored. Every woman should have at least one well-fitting jacket, dress and pair of trousers in her line-up.

It seems as if the embroidery trend has been the focal point of many designer shows for the past last seasons. The designs range from roses, coral snakes, rockets and tigers designers are really using their imagination and taking us into their embroidered fantasy worlds.

Sheer is another strong trend and partnered with embroidery makes for a really powerful look! Bodysuits, mesh t-shirts and bralettes are great pieces to wear for festivals and really make a statement. If you are more discrete in your style then go for something more modest like an embroidered tee, a handbag or shoes.

Check our selected edit of designer and high street embroidered clothing and accessories below including Coach bags and Gucci trainers. Embroidered Kenzo tiger espadrilles are ideal for the summer months... Spice up your wardrobe and bring a little fantasy into your life!

Selena, now the new face of Puma, is back under the spotlight for her renewed collaboration with the fashion house Coach. After a successful partnership on a line of accessories launched in last year, the singer will now design her own ready-to-wear collection for the American brand.

Together with Coach creative director Stuart Vevers, they created a collection inspired by the 20s and street style looks. The new collection will also feature outerwear, handbags and accessories. So expect print dresses, denim looks and knit tops, lace and pastel colours.

Just like her confident and powerful feminine spirit, she is nailing streetwear style with nostalgic jumper, largely inspired by the 90s. Always sporting a pair of jeans or her beloved sunnies, Selena has this casual je-ne-sais-quoi.

She proves she owns the boho-rock style, matching floral dress with thigh-high boots wtih great success. On red carpet, she easily wears pastel pink, proving the shade can also be a perfect match with an adult style.
