The Cannes Film Festival red carpet has, once again, been serving us a cavalcade of show-stopping looks. With so many events, screenings and parties taking place in such a short space of time, we’re always amazed at just how many incredible outfits we spot.

Of course, every year offers up a look to remember and we always spot one or two memorable pieces from the runway, but this year, our favourite celebs seemed to be opting for the same few trends. We’ve put together a list of our favourites and included a few tips on how to rock these striking looks at your next big event…

Shimmer and shine

From Winnie Harlow in that incredible Jean Louis Sabaji gown to Kristen Stewart in a metallic Chanel mini, the order of this year’s red carpet is anything that sparkles. We spotted Bella Hadid in a shimmering design from Elle Saab and countless other models, actors and socialites kitted out in gold, silver and sequins. Now, this is a statement trend guaranteed to turn heads, so keep your accessories simple and your make-up pared down – except your lipstick, keep that bright for a cool contrast.

Power suits

Tailoring always goes down well on the red carpet and at Cannes, the rule has no exceptions. Doutzen Kroes donned an achingly-cool Tom Ford suit, while Julianne Moore opted for trousers too in a softer take on power dressing. Cate Blanchett wowed us in a pastel-pink suit by Stella McCartney and we saw statement styles from Chanel in light blue too. Anything works with a suit, so mix it up with barely-there heels and clutches or statement trainers, sunglasses and a lace camisole

Graphic outlines

From 3D shapes to contemporary twists on corseting, bold graphic shapes and unusual outlined details have been big at Cannes this year. Jennifer Connelly showcased the trend in Louis Vuitton while Star Wars actress Lupita Nyong'o showed us her take on the trend in Dior Haute Couture. Deconstructed silhouettes and futuristic shapes are here to stay but be sure to stick with monochrome or colour-blocked detailing to avoid looking too far out.

Sunshine yellow

Yellow is having a moment and it’s been everywhere at Cannes. From pale-yellow suits to bright mustard dresses, the colour is reigning supreme for SS18. Our favourite yellow gowns? Lui Wen in Bottega Veneta and Leomie Anderson in Twinset. We’ll be seeing a lot more of the colour this year so find a shade that says something about your personality and team it with plenty of sparkling accessories.

Got a big event coming up? Browse our edit below to try out these trends for yourself…

Soho House is something of a 'celebrity' in the hospitality industry in London - well, as much a private members' club can be. It's the one everyone knows, but don't let one that you want to go, no, only non-members would do that. In an attempt to revive White City as somewhere you would go for more than a trip to Westfield, Soho House have opened their newest club in the area. Whilst it might not be the most coveted area this Soho House looks beautiful as you can imagine and I am just obsessed with this picture of the terrace. The all glass will evoke an al fresco feel whilst huddled inside, as will the foliage. The muted blue and black shades are chic and modern - immediately pours self glass of rosé. As much as we hate to admit the early 00's era of Paris Hilton in pink Juicy track suits, double denim x2 Justin and Britney, Christina Aguilera's dirty braided locks, oversized hoops and motorcross gear loving songstress Pink are all trending for 2017. Even though some of those trends especially worn in the early 00's period make us cringe slightly, incorporating a few items here with a 2017  approach will work wonders for your wardrobe this season!

Read on for the latest throwback staples of the season!

1. Velour Track Suit Ensemble

Before the rise of athleisure the velour tracksuit was a no-fail staple. Combined with an oversized bag, a Starbucks venti Latte and a miniature dog it was the celebrity uniform adorned by most starlets of the time. Many years after it's inevitable demise the velour tracksuit is having a come back. Vetement's collaboration with Juicy Couture for SS17 should have given us a hint. Kanye's YEEZY and Chloe are also adding this naughts staple into their collections. You can probably thank or cringe at Rihanna and Kylie Jenner for putting it back on the Insta Fash pack radar.

2. Trucker Cap

In the heyday of paparazzi and celebrity culture which was the early naughts they had to be accompanied by some much needed streetwear and paparazzi-proof attire. Black sunnies have always been favourable but headgear is also quite integral. For the early 00's that attire included the trucker cap. The ubiquitous accessory for every 20-something celebrity from Pharrell to Ashton Kutcher or Britney Spears. It was Hedi Slimane who resurfaced the the polarizing accessory for Saint Lauren's SS16 show. Nowadays, Gigi Hadid and Kylie and Kendall Jenner have all been spotted with the infamous cap.#2e2e2e">

3. Hot Pink

As fashion recycles every 20 years the early naughts adopted the early 80's trend of pastel pink. When it came to the early naughts Paris Hilton not only brought the flirty colour back but basically built her brand by sporting bold non apologetic fuchia-pink. Around the same time that Legally Blonde premiered by the way. And even though we have been drowning in pastel pink for the past few seasons you can attribute the rise of bold pink to Ballenciaga's SS17 collection. Just wondering when Paris Hilton's come back is due?

4. Motorcross Gear

The rise of early aughties hip-hop is undeniable and it quickly infused the fashion runways too. From Pharell Williams, to Pink, EVE, or Christina Aguilera's Dirrty video and most rappers of the time donning heavy leather tracksuits and jackets usually styled with braided hair and lots of 'bling' or 'bling-bling' if you're truly old - school. Nowadays, labels like Maison Margiela, Alyx Studio, Supreme and of course Rihanna's Fenty x Puma SS18 collection at NYFW are completely in racing-inspired gear mode.

5. Candy Coloured Sunglasses

Colorful sunglasses were everywhere in early 00's and adored by women and men equally. From Sisqo to Justin Timberlake Eve and the Olsen Twins (they've gone a long way we know), all 00's stars were sporting this trend. Nowadays you'll find the likes of Gigi Hadid and her entourage in similar rose coloured glasses.

6. Oversized Hoops

The oversized hoops are a symbol of RnB and Hip Hop music. From Lauren Hill, to Missy Elliot, and EVE it's the accessory that goes hand in hand with a bandana, baseball cap or sleek back pony tail. In the aughts the trend went more mainstream and was adored by many including Victoria Beckham. These days, you can see anyone from Kendall Jenner, to the Hadid sisters or Rihanna rocking those giant gold hoops from designers like Area or minimal ones from Lombardi and Nandi Naya.

7. Fishnets

We're not saying you should go full-on Avril Lavigne and "Hollaback Girl"-era Gwen Stefani, necessarily, but there's definitely something about this pop version of post punk fashion that us bubbling back up all over social media. Usually worn underneath low rise wide legged ripped jeans and peaking from the waist and calves. And of course, the fishnet top is a great way to add some interest under a slip dress—or just over a bandeau bra, for a fun flirty look.

8. Pointy slingback pumps

You can pinpoint this trend to the late 90's who resurfaced the super pointy kitten heel. It was in the early 00's though that the silhouette became more relaxed and transformed into a more elegant and feminine slingback pump with a mid-height lift. Doesn't Sophia Coppola's outfit look truly timeless?

There you have it! The eight 00's trends that are coming back in a major way. Which ones will you be sporting this season? Check out our exclusive edit of all the items that will give you that extra aughts edge!

As we're going through the motions in 2018 many are already thinking of a summer holiday resort by the sea in an exotic location or at least enjoying a quick and rejuvenating city break. So you have organised your carry on, and your suitcase you've packed your beauty kit, your casual wear, and your evening wear. But what about your airport outfit? For the longest time celebrity culture has been associated with those glamorous looks snapped in between airport lounges and gates creating a new type of occasion: travel-wear.#000000">

If you're all about unassuming comfort go for Khloe Kardashian's or Nina Kravitz's nonchalant approach. An oversized hoodie, with a pair of black leggings, trainers and sunnies. Don't let the slouchy ease of the outfit fool you. This version is ultra chic especially paired with minimal and fresh-looking makeup.

For a more elegant and classic version follow Victoria Beckham's example and go for a pair of jeans a white crisp open-collar shirt and throw on a long waist-fitting trench coat, and oversized sunnies. Because you just woke up from your long-haul flight beauty sleep.

If you want to make a statement then go for unapologetic bold. Opt for a memorable colour like mustard or violet and pair it with white sneakers a slogan tee and sunglasses. Voila! Airport outfit sorted.

So where are you headed this Spring? Go to our gallery for now for some extra airport style inspiration and then scroll down below to shop your favourite looks!

The famous British Actress Helen Mirren admitted that she has been struggling with her confidence for a lifetime. It is quite shocking how a successful actress like Mirren could have doubt of herself! But Mirren showed us that she is just like us! The actress told that microblading changed her self esteemed in a recent interview. After seeing her friend try this beauty treatment, the actress thought, “at least when I wake up I will have my eyebrows done.” Small things can cause huge impacts and this is yet another proof. #microblading #helenmirren #beauty #treatment #celebrity #advice

As I discussed with Candice's look sometimes less is more when it comes to celebrity Met Gala outfits. Last year Kim Kardashian proved just that. She opted for a simple Vivienne Westwood full length white dress. True to her style it was fitted, accentuating her curves and there's an element of the bandage dress about it - again very Kim. Her hair is classic straightened and sleek. Nothing is need to dress this up, Kim is wearing it and that is enough. Image: Vogue.com

From her engagement and marriage to George Clooney and her push to the public eye, internationally celebrated human rights lawyer Amal Clooney has long created her own personal style before meeting her husband. Clooney is a fan of a fine blend between playful and professional with feminine details that allow her to look polished on all occasions. The human rights lawyer returned to the United Nations for work only three months after giving birth to twins Ella and Alexander.

She had to transverse from businesswoman to Hollywood celebrity status and now it seems that she has it all: the career, the man, the twins, the holiday house in Lake Como, and all the handbags in the world. The barrister rarely gives interviews unrelated to her work which has seen her represent victims of Isli rapes and kidnappings and aid Wikileaks founder Julian Assange in his fight against extradition.

At the same time, she's an avid fashion follower. During her September 2014 wedding, she opted for a Dolce & Gabbana custom-made Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli Couture dress and Stella McCartney look. She knows the importance of quality tailoring especially when it comes to her suits such as her Bottega Veneta.

When it comes to colour palette of choice, she's a fan of black, navy, cream and red mixed with patterns. She also can accessorise like a pro. Just like the special Gucci bag, she took to the United Nations in 2016. For her off-duty looks, she can really let her hair down pairing nude tones in flattering but comfy silhouettes that accommodate her demanding lifestyle and business schedule.

For her holiday attire, whether it's Lake Como or tequilas at Ibiza she wears anything from sequinned dresses to long red dresses paired with patterned mules or striped day dresses with kitten heel slingbacks and oversized sunnies.

As there is an international day for everything, past Monday was Fanny Pack day. Once a dorky item, the belt bag celebrating hands-free life became a true celebrity staple. Best-sellers, they have yet to reach their peak.

This now must-have item made an incredible comeback this year, cinching every trendy waist. Fanny pack, belt bag, bum bag: you name it! This accessory was spotted on every influencer, hitting the streets after every fashion show. Part of a bigger 80-90s revival trend, the belt bag has changed a lot since its older sister version, and has nothing to do with your parents holiday looks.

While seen as a fashion faux-pas before, wearers as Kanye West or the it-models Kaia Gerber and Bella Hadid incorporated the luxury version of the belt bag into their looks. Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Balenciaga made their own version, which has nothing to envy to more “classic” bags.

Worn across the waist or as cross-body bags, this retro accessory will instantly elevate your outfit. And as Spring is finally starting to show up, you can trade the bag-over-puffer-jacket for a sweater and jean jacket version. Think oversize knitwear and long skirts to play on volumes. For a more evening look, use it as a regular belt on a fitted turtle neck dress. And if you don’t feel confident enough to sport the touristy look, loop the bag through jeans like Karlie Kloss.

Find styling inspiration in the gallery above then shop your favourite belt bags in our edit.

Prada has hit the runway and what a show it was. A standout for me has to be this sheer look. Sheer has been all over not only the runways but the tabloids too, for the past few years. It has been a claimed celebrity favourite from Beyoncé's Met Gala gown - you know the one - to Kim Kardashian's, well most of Kim K's wardrobe. I guess it should be no surprise that sheer is still a coveted trend but Prada have changed the trend for me. Over a cute pink number and embellished in floral, this makes sheer more chic than ever. New York Fashion Week runs from today until next Wednesday, February 14th following the Men's collections February 5th- 8th. However, this New York Fashion Week is different than the rest. It's following on a wave of changes that was initiated last season when Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and Thom Browne moved their presentations to Paris. Tome's Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo also joined the pack of designers leaving New York for Paris. While the controversial collaboration of Rihanna's Fenty x Puma received many accolades and the quintessential American spirit brand of Ralph Lauren hosted his show in his Bedford garage. This season more designers are striking on their own accord while two are coming out of town.

THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS

Tomas Maier is celebrating the opening of his Madison Avenue store and is visiting his Bottega Venetta show from Milan to New York for one season. Maier's move makes sense since the fresh air being infused into the collection abides by the New York edgy and youthful sensibility. Esteban Cortazar - the boy wonder from Paris, formerly creative director of Emanuel Ungaro, is moving his show from Paris to New York.

THE DEPARTURES

Ever since Alexander Wang announced that he's moving #WangFest to a June/December schedule there are more designers evading the conventional Fashion Calendar. Wand staged several street parties in September and will present his final show on the official schedule this Saturday before moving with his plans. Marchesa's Georgina Chapman after filing for divorce from Harvey Weinstein and Keren Craig cancelled their runway show in favour of a more low-key event. Delpozo and Victoria Beckham are switching New York for London, Tome traded New York for Paris while there will be no Fenty x Puma show. Many others Public School and Baja East switched to straight-to-consumer, Burberry and Mansur Gavriel wanted to a see-now-buy-now model while Rebecca Minkoff and Lela Rose opted for Instagram shows instead of IRL ones.

FASHION WEEK STAPLES

But still, it's New York fashion week Marc Jacobs whose latest collection was featured on the cover of American Vogue is closing the show. While Raf Simons is presenting both his third collection for Calvin Kein and also showcasing his own menswear brand. Tom Ford is showing two separate collections Women's and Men's. We're anticipating Coach, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and of course Jeremy Scott! We're also expecting a breath of fresh air from newcomers (to the NYFW runway at least) Eckhaus Latta, the powerful subversive duo, and the American - Australian Matthew Adams Dolan, a denim aficionado and Rihanna favourite.

THE FROW

As with designers, there has been a thinning of big celebrity sightings too. This time last year Katie Holmes, Jennifer Hudson and Lucy Liu sat at Zac Posen alone, for example, and by September, the significant celeb snaps were confined to those of a pregnant Jessica Alba and Jessica Seinfeld. And all for a good reason. According to The New York Times, in the practice of pay-per-pose, an A-lister like Angelina Jolie could command close to $1 million per show. As expected Tom Ford kicked off NYFW AW18 with a guest list that included Ciara and husband Russell Wilson, Pusha T and Halsey. Jessica Alba is a Tory Burch veteran so she’ll probably be there, ditto for Zoe Kravitz at close friend Alexander Wang’s show. Rashida Jones is a fan of  Rachel Comey, actress Chloe Grace Moretz has been a COACH regular in the past and may even show up to the Victoria Beckham show (she’s currently dating Brooklyn Beckham). Olivia Culpo and her New England Patriots player boyfriend Danny Amendola are scheduled to make an appearance, according to E! Online. And from the music scene: Solange Knowles Tinashe and Teyana Taylor may all show up. As far as street style trendsetters are concerned: Yasmin Sewell, (heavily pregnant) Leandra Medine, Lisa Aiken and Linda Tol are all safe bet sightings and women to follow on Instagram if you’re not already.

Stay glued to Shopcade for more #FashionWeek updates and speaking of sticking to that New York aesthetic, shop our favourite NYFW designers via our expert edit below!
