On the first Monday of every May we eagerly await the red-carpet glam squad who’ll assemble at the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The annual costume gala is only a few days away and we're buzzing with anticipation.

This year the Gala will be co-hosted by Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace and the undisputed queen of red carpet events, Rihanna – we’re still not over the train on the mustard Guo Pei gown she sported in 2015. The theme for the 70th anniversary of fashion's biggest fund-raising event is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination; a pretty controversial subject in comparison to past themes.

China: Through the Looking Glass, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, Punk: Chaos to Couture and of course, last year's Rei Kawkubo: Comme des Garçons were among the iconic themes of Galas past. This time, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination will focus on religious depictions showcased across three galleries including the Met Cloisters.

The exhibition will feature 50 pieces from the Sistine Chapel – including robes, rings, tiaras and other accessories from the 18th to the early 21st century. As for fashion, guests will be treated to a viewing of 150 religiously-inspired ensembles from houses like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and of course Versace.

Care to jump on the bandwagon and dress to fit the theme yourself? Head to our gallery for more inspiration and shop the best accessory styles from our edit below…

Awards season is now in full swing and the Brits announced the 2018 Award nominations over the weekend. In case you didn’t know, this is arguably the UK’s premier pop music awards and has spawned many iconic moments including Ginger Spice’s infamous Union Jack dress and Katy Perry’s controversial US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minster Theresa May oversized dolls. This time round, singer-song writer Dua Lipa made history with five nominations, including British Female Solo Artist, and Ed Sheeran was next most nominated with four nods. Rising star Jorja Smith, who’s collaborated with Drake and Stormzy, won the Critics Choice award ahead of Mabel and Stefflon Don. Find the full list of nominees here and singer Paloma Faith was quick to slam the lack of female performers lined up for the ceremony on 21st February.

That gives you just over a month to add the artists mentioned above to your playlist pronto and shop the nomination looks for your next night out in our edits below.

Chainmail made its latest epic comeback in the finale of the Versace Spring Summer 18 show back in September. Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen, five of the original supermodels, dazzled in shimmering gold chainmail gowns and strutted down the runaway hand-in-hand with Donatella Versace in tribute to the designer’s late brother Gianni. Besides breaking the internet as the most instagrammed moment of fashion month, gold or ‘goddess’ chainmail entered the spotlight.

It was Paco Rabanne who helped popularise the fierce, futuristic fabric in the ’60s as part of the Space Age movement, although none of his dresses were as naked as Paris Hilton’s at her 21st birthday party in 2002. The heiress’ cowl neck silver chainmail mini dress was previously pop culture’s most enduring image of chainmail, chicly recreated by Kendall Jenner at her own 21st birthday celebrations last year. Defined as a flexible armour of small metal rings linked together, allowing tantalising peeks of skin, it’s the perfect attention-seeking material for a New Year Eve’s party outfit. No-one will be able to tear their eyes away from you as you shimmer your way around the room. Now that the age-defying supers have proved that chainmail doesn’t have to be silver or only worn by pretty young things, try it out. It’s a much cooler way to do metallics, glittering without actual glitter specks, and there’s a rainbow of shades now available.

Check out our inspiration gallery above and then pick your most flattering cut or piece from our ready-to-shop edit below.

You’ll bring in the new year with a bang!

It's very easy to get a bit blue just before Christmas. It gets darker quickly especially on the 21st of December. So it's understandable that you might need a bit of pick me up wardrobe to put a halt on those winter blues.

You can start by amping up that colour palette. For example trade in those black and deep browns for a pastel pink, a bright yellow, a sumptuous violet (great for 2018) or a luscious tomato red. If colour doesn't do it then turn to one of the most prominent trends of the year: sequins. Opt for a sparkly blazer, a skirt with studs or a flapper dress with tassels - it's party season after all so a bit of glitz and glam is in order.

Finally if all else fails, turn to gold and high stiletto heels - combine them for double the effect! And if you've been particularly good this year and expect a treat why not go all out? A designer splurge is the ultimate mood lifter after all - and what better way to celebrate than with a velvet Gucci belt bag one of our biggest lust-haves of the year!

A perfectly streamlined closet is one that is updated regularly, ideally every season. The best way to closet cleanse is to clear out the items that you haven't worn in the past 6 months and fill out the space with fresh and exciting items, both seasonal and instant classics. Donald Trump has officially taken over as acting President of the United States of America, and he's bringing some radical views into the White House with him. Some of these are detrimental to our LGBTQ fam, and the LGBTQ community made sure that the world notices.

They held a giant political rally in Washington D. C. on January 21st, promoting women's rights, immigration reform, and LGBTQ rights. To add to the awesomeness, this quickly turned into a global movement, where marches were held all over the US and in many international cities as well, all promoting the same cause.

Additionally, issues like racial inequality were added to the causes being countered. People all over the globe came together somehow to fight for the rights of people who need liberation. And we think that this day will certainly set itself in history as a day full of warm fuzzies and girl love.

Scroll through our gallery above for some amazing snaps of the rallies across the globe, and check out the Women's March website to find a march near you that you can get involved with! Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your dog. But don't miss a chance to be part of history!

18-year-olds fear their 21st, 21-year-olds are hesitant to enter their mid-twenties, and everyone else has either undergone a quarter-life-crisis or has given up caring.

In a time when millennials are being dubbed the Peter Pan Generation yet are having less sex, growing up faster yet are earning much less, and are accused of being spoilt but party less than previous generations, just how old is “old”?

Amid challenges to becoming financially independent (med and law students excluded)*, finding the right job, and rising above social/family pressure to find a “suitable" partner, it’s entirely plausible that young Western women aren’t living up to their wild child image nearly as much as everyone believes.

For example, the findings of a nationwide annual survey by the University of California showed that time spent partying by high school seniors has drastically decreased over the decades.

Life after high school and college graduation doesn’t appear to get much more carefree or exciting given it’s harder than ever to make rent. Radpad, an apartment search and rent payment services provider, found that a large number of millennials are paying over 30% of income for housing. Some are even paying twice that amount.

While the constant lamentations of young women fearing they’re “too old” can be grinding for "grown ups" everywhere, it’s important to consider their youths are spent overcoming career, housing, and relationship uncertainty in ways previous generations haven’t experienced.

Understandably, this forcibly propels young women to concern themselves with important yet mundane issues - #firstworldproblems - that prevent them from fully taking advantage of a time in which they technically have the “least” amount of responsibility.

The complaint of being or becoming “old” serves more as a figure of speech for holding back in life than anything else.

Ultimately, isn’t partying more fun when searching for a paid job and making rent an isn’t at the back of your mind? Joel Kotkin’s piece for Newsweek, Are Millennials the Screwed Generation? states "the wealth gap today between younger and older Americans now stands as the widest on record."

Here are some signs you’re definitely not living up to the perception millennials are “lazy, entitled, delusional, narcissistic, and unreliable”:

- It’s your BFFs birthday and you’re eager to forget the nightmare job interview you had for a hotel receptionist role in which you were asked if you knew HTML5, have at least one Michelin star, and outdoor survival skills. You’re broke AF but prefer to stay sober than allow a predatory barfly to buy you drinks.

- Your first-generation immigrant parents have been giving you sh*t about your lack of savings but your only leisure related outgoing is a $8.99 monthly Netflix subscription. *Just kidding, they aren't exempt from student debt either ;)

We couldn't have been more excited to celebrate V Festival's 21st birthday at Weston Park, Stafford on Saturday 20th! Headlining the event was none other than Rihanna who'd performed at V before, with other main stage acts such as David Guetta, Little Mix, Years & Years, and Example.

The weather at Weston Park, Stafford was damp but forgiving. Raining on and off throughout the day, ducking into the plasticine blue tent in which the Dance Arena was located acted as a failsafe for revellers who couldn't wait to indulge in some daytime clubbing.

Years & Years' Olly Alexander raked in the crowd with an upbeat and heartfelt performance prior to Little Mix lighting up the stage shortly after with covers of Willow Smith and Beyonce alongside hits such as Salut and Black Magic. Dressed in matching army bomber jackets, khaki green bodysuits, and black thigh high boots, the girls whipped up a frenzy when Craig David made a surprise appearance during the set!

Scoping out the scene at V Healthy (yes, there ARE food and drink options at V for clean eating practitioners) prior to David Guetta's set, we were alerted to his arrival when festival goers dropped what they were doing/eating/drinking (literally) and flocked in droves to the main stage.

By this point, with tunes like Sexy Chick, Bad, and Hey Mama blaring from the speakers, we'd long eschewed caring whether our clothes clung to our bodies from the rain and embraced the beat with gusto.

Soon after, rides and food stalls were abandoned by all as everyone patiently waited for Rihanna who true to RiRi style, arrived with a bang in a chocolate brown leather bodysuit, asymmetric distressed trousers, and a matching oversized trench.

Leaving the cheering crowd satisfied with a stellar performance complemented by her contortionist backup dancers and hits such as Diamonds, Work, and BBHMM, RiRi proved once again she has stage presence like no other!

It has been one hell of a birthday week for Kylie Jenner, after numerous celebrations and amazing gifts, her actual birthday is here! Tyga treated her to a $189,000 car, after last year getting her a $320,000 white convertible Ferrari. Her BFF Jordan also surprised her with a puppy, called Penny. So yeah, the star hasn't done badly. WTF is her 21st going to be like?!

To celebrate King Kylie's bday we thought we'd have a look at her through the years, and how she's grown up in front of our eyes. Kylie has been at the centre of a lot of controversy over how her image has changed, and yes she does look different from how she did at age 10, but don't we all? Despite the obvious lip fillers, which she has admitted to, we're not sure if she's changed that much apart from getting older and into makeup. But judge for yourself, scroll through the gallery above to see how she her transformation....
