2017 was the year where bare shoulders reigned. Now it's time to change the focus and look for items that are more focused on the neckline, tighter tops and simpler silhouettes. Credits: Pinterest

Strathberry has stolen the hearts of many, including that of future duchess Meghan Markle. It specialises in statement leather handbags at a nicely affordable price point. The brand was founded by husband and wife duo Guy and Leanne Hundleby in Edinburgh in 2013. Strathberry aims to create quality Scottish accessories with an international look.

Though the affordable price tag means similar accessories brands might have trouble standing out from the crowd. but Strathberry has been able to distinguish itself by maintaining a high standard of design. Its silhouettes have already become super recognisable and they've gained the much coveted IT-bag status with influencers and editors alike.

Strathberry was doing pretty well, but its popularity soared back in December 2017, when Meghan Markle carried a Strathberry bag during her official engagement. The Strathberry Mini Tote sold out in 11 minutes after she was snapped with the bag.

Are you coveting a Strathberry bag too? Browse to our exclusive edit below and shop your fave style now...

The past season designers have been showing an act for the artisanal. Over the last year, runways were filled with crafty handiwork that came from peculiar embellishments: from quilting to crochet.

Jonathan Anderson knits dominated his Fall 2017 menswear show, while Jeremy Scott created bodycon dresses for his Resort collection. Other designers opted for crochet miniskirts and polo shirts during a Spring 2018 outing. We absolutely love the offbeat and experimental attitude of the material that allows for an array of mixing and matching options.

How to style crochet?

Pair a jumper with a leather biker jacket to emphasize the juxtaposition between the '60s silhouette dress and the edgy jacket. Add a fetish choker for effect or a knit-top handle bag and a pair of front-button track pants and sneakers.

Kick back in a crochet overlay with your monokini and a summer basket bag with slides for a comfy-chic beach look. Add some bamboo-inspired accessories with beads to fully immerse in this look.

Ready to rock crochet this summer?

As much as we hate to admit the early 00's era of Paris Hilton in pink Juicy track suits, double denim x2 Justin and Britney, Christina Aguilera's dirty braided locks, oversized hoops and motorcross gear loving songstress Pink are all trending for 2017. Even though some of those trends especially worn in the early 00's period make us cringe slightly, incorporating a few items here with a 2017  approach will work wonders for your wardrobe this season!

Read on for the latest throwback staples of the season!

1. Velour Track Suit Ensemble

Before the rise of athleisure the velour tracksuit was a no-fail staple. Combined with an oversized bag, a Starbucks venti Latte and a miniature dog it was the celebrity uniform adorned by most starlets of the time. Many years after it's inevitable demise the velour tracksuit is having a come back. Vetement's collaboration with Juicy Couture for SS17 should have given us a hint. Kanye's YEEZY and Chloe are also adding this naughts staple into their collections. You can probably thank or cringe at Rihanna and Kylie Jenner for putting it back on the Insta Fash pack radar.

2. Trucker Cap

In the heyday of paparazzi and celebrity culture which was the early naughts they had to be accompanied by some much needed streetwear and paparazzi-proof attire. Black sunnies have always been favourable but headgear is also quite integral. For the early 00's that attire included the trucker cap. The ubiquitous accessory for every 20-something celebrity from Pharrell to Ashton Kutcher or Britney Spears. It was Hedi Slimane who resurfaced the the polarizing accessory for Saint Lauren's SS16 show. Nowadays, Gigi Hadid and Kylie and Kendall Jenner have all been spotted with the infamous cap.#2e2e2e">

3. Hot Pink

As fashion recycles every 20 years the early naughts adopted the early 80's trend of pastel pink. When it came to the early naughts Paris Hilton not only brought the flirty colour back but basically built her brand by sporting bold non apologetic fuchia-pink. Around the same time that Legally Blonde premiered by the way. And even though we have been drowning in pastel pink for the past few seasons you can attribute the rise of bold pink to Ballenciaga's SS17 collection. Just wondering when Paris Hilton's come back is due?

4. Motorcross Gear

The rise of early aughties hip-hop is undeniable and it quickly infused the fashion runways too. From Pharell Williams, to Pink, EVE, or Christina Aguilera's Dirrty video and most rappers of the time donning heavy leather tracksuits and jackets usually styled with braided hair and lots of 'bling' or 'bling-bling' if you're truly old - school. Nowadays, labels like Maison Margiela, Alyx Studio, Supreme and of course Rihanna's Fenty x Puma SS18 collection at NYFW are completely in racing-inspired gear mode.

5. Candy Coloured Sunglasses

Colorful sunglasses were everywhere in early 00's and adored by women and men equally. From Sisqo to Justin Timberlake Eve and the Olsen Twins (they've gone a long way we know), all 00's stars were sporting this trend. Nowadays you'll find the likes of Gigi Hadid and her entourage in similar rose coloured glasses.

6. Oversized Hoops

The oversized hoops are a symbol of RnB and Hip Hop music. From Lauren Hill, to Missy Elliot, and EVE it's the accessory that goes hand in hand with a bandana, baseball cap or sleek back pony tail. In the aughts the trend went more mainstream and was adored by many including Victoria Beckham. These days, you can see anyone from Kendall Jenner, to the Hadid sisters or Rihanna rocking those giant gold hoops from designers like Area or minimal ones from Lombardi and Nandi Naya.

7. Fishnets

We're not saying you should go full-on Avril Lavigne and "Hollaback Girl"-era Gwen Stefani, necessarily, but there's definitely something about this pop version of post punk fashion that us bubbling back up all over social media. Usually worn underneath low rise wide legged ripped jeans and peaking from the waist and calves. And of course, the fishnet top is a great way to add some interest under a slip dress—or just over a bandeau bra, for a fun flirty look.

8. Pointy slingback pumps

You can pinpoint this trend to the late 90's who resurfaced the super pointy kitten heel. It was in the early 00's though that the silhouette became more relaxed and transformed into a more elegant and feminine slingback pump with a mid-height lift. Doesn't Sophia Coppola's outfit look truly timeless?

There you have it! The eight 00's trends that are coming back in a major way. Which ones will you be sporting this season? Check out our exclusive edit of all the items that will give you that extra aughts edge!

In our never-ending search for the ultimate party accessory, we stumbled upon a bag that's making waves across social media. Although this is one of the chicest ways to elevate your evening attire, this accessory is completely wearable with a pair of jeans and a blazer. The design and embellishments mean this bag has the power to transform any outfit, be it day or night.

If 2017 was an ode to rustic totes, bamboo creations (thanks, CULT GAIA) and mini velvet body bags – see Gucci –  this year is a homage to the beaded bag. You might not see it as the most practical of the bunch but it's definitely got the retro aesthetic down to a T. The beaded bag was inspired by Shrimps’ Antonia bag, and the brand’s wild pink faux-fur Graham clutch with beaded embellishments.

Sasah Alexandra's multicolor version and Vanina's cult Camelia cross-body have also been spotted adorning the arms of the fashion elite, From Leandra Medine to Pandora Sykes, Camille Chariere Maria Bernard and Laura Jackson, it seems that everyone wants a piece of this vintage-inspired trend.

This year's Met Gala is fast approaching. The 'Heavenly Bodies' theme is being highly anticipated now that we are just a few weeks away. In light of this I thought we should look back at a few of last year's outfits. Of course as soon as this year's are spotted I'll be talking about those too. 2017's theme was Comme Des Garçons and Rihanna brought it. Her dress was insane. Designed by Chinese designer Guo Pei this piece took two years to create. It was certainly hard to look away. Rihanna's eye make up beautifully coordinated with the dress's hues and the hair is subtly in homage to China, the origin of the dress. Image: Vogue.com

Even though Pantone's 2017 color of choice was " Greenery", a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade symbolising new beginnings the truth of the matter is, the year felt like it was dedicated to millenial pink. Actually there's never been a year so chromatically in sync with Elle Woods wardrobe - Ever.

But, as all Barbie things come to an end, Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year will be "Ultra Violet, a "spiritual, cosmic" purple that "communicates originality ingenuity and visionary thinking that point us toward the future".

As predicted this already caused a riot with Ultra Violet’s relative hue Lilac causing a major craze. The fresh pastel shade was everywhere all over  the SS18  shows, from Victoria Beckham and Tibi at New York Fashion Week, before heading over to Emporio Armani at London Fashion Week and Céline in Paris.

So how do you wear the ice cream shade with confidence? This season it’s all about keeping it paired back with clean lines. Try it on a sharp boutique pantsuit, a see-through blouse and a simple slip dress. The head-to-toe look is very bold so if you feel a bit unsure opt for a few accessories here and there like strappy sandals, a statement bag or sunnies.

Are you ready to immerse yourself in head-to-toe Ultra Violet? Scroll down below and shop your favourite styles from our edit!

One of the most immediate trends to emerge from fashion month was anything and everything plastic. Whether it was see-through opac black made of PVC or vinyl, plastic interpretations were appearing everywhere during AW18. Think long practical raincoats at Burberry, moto futurism at Valentino or Chanel's chic 1960's see-through version including capes and boots.

Even Yeeze caught in on the trend and presented thigh-high tubular boots. Most designers were looking at the trend ironically, attempting to elevate the plastic fabric which is associated with food preservation to a fashion trend. Kind of like 2010's obsession with trash bags.

Street style was also heavily focused on plastic wear especially when it came to rain gear. Admittedly this trend is challenging to wear IRL even though the synthetic fabric has made its way into our mainstream attire starting from the collections of all our sartorial favourites.#000000">

It was Karl Lagerfeld who truly gave PVC an haute couture dimension not only by the artistry with which he crafted the clothes but also by styling them with modern Chanel tweed suits. They were word under feminine hooded rain capes in plastic, denim jackets and skirts were trimmed with plastic fringe while he created low-heeled boots in clear plastic as a luxury alternative to our common rain boot. Similarly, Demna Gvasalia and Acne Studios opted for sleek plastic raincoats.

This season the trend dominated New York and London alike. Philipp Plein was most experimental by layering faux fur and metallic pieces while Jeremy Scott opted for Space age and taking cues from Barbarella in the 1960's.When it comes to styling, work the trend around your everyday essentials instead of adopting a head-to-toe look.

Take influencer Yoyo Cao's example by layering a transparent overcoat over a classic camel trench, white tee and distressed denim. Try a plastic trench belted with a Gucci belt or simply invest in plastic accessories: From a see-through bag to a hat or boots, there's always a more nuanced way to incorporate plastic in your everyday attire.

One of most popular items of last year was the fanny pack rounding up to 57.000 sales. This year is no different, with sales only increasing for Spring 2018. There are few reasons why the fanny pack has made such a notable comeback. The retro accessory which had received such a faux-pas connotation in the past, got a resurgence when male icons started sporting it: from Kanye West to Virgil Abloh and A$AP Rocky.

Female fashion influencers like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and fashion editors such as Lisa Aiken donned Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Balenciaga fanny packs in multiple street style snaps. The truth is the 2017-18 version has little to do with the dad on vacation look of the 90s. The packs are worn cross-body instead of around the waist with many designer options as well as high-street offerings. By all accounts, fanny packs are selling out like crazy and have yet to reach their peak.

As we enter the era of less bulky outerwear it’s time to bring out the belt bag and wear it over sweaters, shirts, and light denim jackets. For an evening look, choose a long fitted rollneck dress and use the bag to hold your absolute essentials but also to give some definition to your silhouette. Finish the look with a pair of mid-heel ankle boots, a black leather jacket and a chunky necklace. For a daytime look, go fan oversized sweater and wear the belt bang hung loose on the side. Add a floor-skimming skirt, dad trainers and put your hair in a messy bun.
