North Queensferry, Fife:: Come face to face with one of the world's most feared aquatic creatures by scuba diving with real life sharks! Kick off with one to two hours of fundamental scuba tuition, including a full briefing on equipment, diving techniques and underwater etiquette, before putting theory into practice in the swimming pool. Then it's time for the main event - a 30 minute dive in the aquarium and swim with sand tiger sharks as well as other big fish and stunning shoals of smaller species. Feel free to wave at the audience through the glass as the sharks glide past you. Availability: Saturdays and Sundays at least twice a month throughout the year. This is a very popular experience - book several weeks in advance. Weather: Duration: Training takes an hour and the dive itself lasts for approximately half an hour. Please arrive a few minutes before the session time. Numbers On Day: Briefings, training and the dive are carried out in a group of up to three people. A qualified diving instructor remains on-hand at all times. Spectators: Admission for two spectators is included. Additional spectators are welcome for the price of £11 for adults and £7.25 for children (payable on the day). Dress Code: Bring a towel and a pair of tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a thin long-sleeved T-shirt or sweatshirt and a warm pair of socks to wear under your dry suit. All scuba equipment is provided. Contact lenses can be worn but glasses must be removed. Guidelines: From Edinburgh; follow signs for Forth Road Bridge. Once across, take the first exit left and Deep Sea World is signposted. Southbound; exit the M90 at junction 1 following signs through Inverkeithing or Rosyth. Deep Sea World has over 500 free parking spaces. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. You must be comfortable in water and in good health. If you suffer from claustrophobia, asthma, respiratory/heart problems, certain other medical conditions, or are pregnant, you can't take part. If in doubt, seek medical advice. Other Info: A medical questionnaire and liability release form must be completed before diving. This is a cold water tank so you'll dive in a 'dry suit', which is warmer than a wetsuit. It's not possible to fly for 24 hours after diving.
