Stamford, Lincolnshire; Hatfield, Hertfordshire; Oxford, Oxfordshire; Newbury, Berkshire; Alcester, Warwickshire;:: Available at some of the UK's most stunning settings including Burghley House, Hatfield House, Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle and Ragley Hall, this classical Battle Proms British summer concert provides an evening unlike any other. With a delicious picnic of food and wine, watch Cavalry and Infantry displays, before a volley of shots from a vintage field gun is followed by a choreographed display from Carolyn Grace in her LF Mark IX Spitfire. The New English Concert Orchestra performs classical pieces, including Beethoven's Battle Symphony with 193 live cannons and muskets. Celebrations culminate in a flag-waving proms finale with Rule Britannia and other favourites led by Channel 4's winning soprano Denise Leigh, followed by fireworks. Availability: Saturday dates in July and August 2018. MUST be booked at least two weeks before the concert date. Expect to receive an e-ticket approximately seven days before the concert, which must be presented on the day. Weather: Air displays are subject to weather conditions. Duration: Carparks open at 2pm and gates open between 4pm and 4.30pm, so relax and enjoy traditional fairground stalls, a warm-up band and cavalry display. The musical programme starts at 7.30pm and finishes by approximately 10.30pm. Numbers On Day: Share the experience with between 5000 and 10,000 other concert loving individuals. Spectators: This experience is exclusively for paying participants. No pets (with the exception of guide dogs) can be permitted inside the grounds. Dress Code: As it gets noticeably cooler once the sun has dropped, we recommend wrapping up or bringing warm clothing for the evening. No seating is provided so bring a rug or chairs for comfort. Guidelines: Restrictions: No age restrictions apply but those under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult (18 or over). Other Info: Personal bbq's and naked flames are not permitted. Free and disabled parking is available. Collect the picnic from the blue Picnic Collection Point by two hours after gates open. Please request vegetarian or other dietary requirements at time of booking.
