Basingstoke, Hampshire:: Step into a wind tunnel, a 120 mph wall of air strong enough to support human weight, and delight in the sensation of freefall without the need to jump out of a plane. Start off with a safety briefing from an instructor before being kitted out with a specialist flight suit. Then take a big step into the wind tunnel with the instructor close at hand and ascend into the air for two electrifying 60-second sessions of flying. As a comparison, a skydive from 10,000 feet gives around 30 seconds of freefall. What's more, for some participants the expert instructor jumps onto the flow to perform some logic-defying acrobatics. The flying session ends with a debrief. Availability: Available all year round except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. On weekend, bank holidays and weekdays during school holidays, availability is before 11am and after 7pm. Weather: The tunnel is indoors and isn't affected by the weather. Duration: Expect to be on-site for around one and a half hours, including a 20 minute safety briefing, kit issue (15 minutes), two 60 second body flying sessions and a full debrief. Numbers On Day: Training may be shared in a group of up to 12. All flights are held on a one-to-one basis in the wind tunnel with a fully qualified instructor. Spectators: Facilities are excellent and make for a good family outing. Spectators can watch the action from the free viewing gallery. Dress Code: No jewellery or collared shirts. Please wear tight-fitting lace-up trainers (not boots). If suitable footwear isn't worn, it is compulsory to hire trainers from the venue. Jumpsuits and other equipment are provided. Lockers £1. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age 4. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum weight is 18 stone. Anyone who's reasonably fit can fly. If you're pregnant, have heart, back or neck problems or have ever dislocated a shoulder, you can't fly. Other Info:
