Description

Retford, Nottinghamshire:: Get airborne with a stimulating light aircraft flight in Nottinghamshire. After a detailed pre-flight briefing and explanation of elementary flying methods, hop into a dual-controlled two-seater Cessna 152 training plane with an experienced tutor to head to the heights for a 30 minute flight. Watch incredible views unfold and during the flight, you may be asked to take over the flying responsibilities and take this nimble aircraft for a spin. Availability: Seven days a week. The venue is closed on Christmas Day. Weekends can get very busy, if you want a weekend date we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends). Weather: Flying is a weather dependent activity and it's essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time. Duration: Lasts around 45 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration. Numbers On Day: The briefing might be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing. There is a cafe on-site with excellent views of the runway. Dress Code: Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Restrictions: Maximum weight is 17 stone. Maximum height is 6'4''. For security reasons, photographic id (ideally a passport) MUST be produced by all passengers on the day or they wont be permitted to fly. Other Info: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot's Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
