In January, there were rumours that Hedi Slimane, creative director of YSL would be leaving the fashion house. The brand denied this but last week it'd transpired that Slimane's contract had expired and he had indeed left his role. Today, Anthony Vaccarello of Versus Versace takes the helm!
President and CEO of YSL Francesca Belletini said in a statement of Anthony: "His modern, pure aesthetic is the perfect fit for the maison. Anthony Vaccarello impeccably balances elements of provocative femininity and sharp masculinity in his silhouettes.
"He is the natural choice to express the essence of Yves Saint Laurent. I am enthusiastic about embarking on a new era with Anthony Vaccarello, and together bringing the maison further success."
