Sadly for your wallet, monsoon demands a different, well thought of wardrobe. But that also means more clothes! If you’re planning to take advantage of the soon-to-come monsoon sales and revise that wardrobe to fit well in this wet, mucky season, then this curated list of dos and don’ts is going to come to your rescue.
Whites are not always right
Yes, believe it or not, white may be a bad option this season for mainly two reasons – it can get mucky really quickly, and no matter what fabric, your whites can become translucent when wet. To avoid this horror, opt for solid and bright shades instead.
Say yes to everything short
Walking on wet ground can do some unavoidable damage to your favourite clothes. Avoid flared plans or long skirts and preserve them for the seasons to come. Instead, wear shorts, knee length dresses or rompers this season.
Fabric choice is essential
Thick fabrics like denims are a terrible idea in the rains. Not only are they going to be impossible to dry naturally but also the stench from it will prove unbearable for you and for those around you. Good old cotton, georgettes or chiffon are a better option instead.
New BFF = airy comfort clothing
Don’t you just hate when you accidentally get soaked and your clothes start to stick to your body? Well, you can avoid that by choosing loose clothing that will not only provide you with utmost comfort but also be rain friendly.
No leather this weather
For the love of your expensive bags and shoes, avoid leather during monsoons. Tuck away those summer and winter goodies until the time is right and go for more water-friendly accessories.
