2.00 pm: Our day attending LFW shows and events begins later than usual but gets off to a great start as Sirina heads to Freemasons Hall to catch Fashion Scout’s SS17 debut of Run’s latest collection. "The Run presentation was one of a kind,” she said. "It was a moment where models would travel up and down the runway two by two and come up close to the spectators. The show was very intimate and the clothes were truly beautiful.”
3.00 pm: Chloe joins more of our team at Marshall Street for the Fyodor Golan presentation which proves to be an immersive fashion experience. The 3D simulated multimedia presentation features a digital backdrop with avatars while real-life models stand before it. They wear the vibrant, multi-faceted collection which intends to challenge the tried and tested runway format.
Instafamous model Charlie Barker wore an eye-catching shirt and skirt combo with long-sleeves and digital print from the collection. Other looks from the line boast trends we’ve grown to love and covet from other designers, including loose-fit flare trousers, cropped sweatshirts, and oversized off-the-shoulder tops.
4.30 pm: The Vin + Omi catwalk show kicks off at the Congress Centre on Russell Street where our Social Media Manager Sahar captures the excitement - follow us on snapchat @shopcade to see what the collection is like!
Goodie bags were rife with delectable treats such as a Real Techniques brush and sponge, a packet of Proper Corn, a Graze snack box punnet, and nail cuticle oil. Some lucky individuals walked away from the venue with a miniature bottle of Jagermeister with which to self medicate before their next LFW event (for veterans of the LFW after party scene, hair of the dog is a much needed replacement for coffee).
6.00 pm: For its SS16 collection debut, Sorapol held a theatrical catwalk show at the Royal College of Surgeons. The vast hall in which we were seated echoed the grandeur of the collection itself with the finale emitting gasps from guests from all corners of the room.
The unveiling of its SS17 collection however left a lot to be desired.
Sorapol X Illamasqua most certainly piqued our interest but upon arriving at the Beak Street store, the small space in which models wearing dresses from the new collection were overwhelmed by a swarm of press and bloggers.
The garments were of course, beautiful and well constructed. The six looks present were all monochrome and whilst some garments drew eyes to their intricate embroidery, others did so for their exaggerated silhouettes.
9.30 pm: Later that evening after consuming real food and drink (one can only live on popcorn and coconut water for so long*), Sahar and I head over to the Vin + Omi after party at the Sanderson Hotel. Given that it was Day 4 of LFW, we enjoyed a relaxed drink before making our way home for a good night’s rest. Or did we...?
*I just want to share how grateful I am that Vitamin Water is no longer a thing. I’m positive this means I may never receive another complimentary bottle of Vitamin Water in my life but at this point, I’m cool with that.
