Enter Karl Lagergeld, Creative Director of Chanel, Fendi and his eponymous label. Lagerfeld is often politically charged- remember his feminist inspired show of S/S'15? Well, the maverick has had his say again, this time on Brexit.
Speaking at Dior Homme's SS17 show to AFP, Lagerfeld labelled the UK's decision to leave the EU as a 'moment of madness'. Continuing, he said: 'Look who voted, it was the people from deep in the countryside, the big cities didn't want it at all.'
'I don't think it will work out. They may have another vote. I don't think it is a good idea. The analysis of the vote shows that it is a bad decision. We don't need to say much more about it'.
Strong words indeed, but he isn't alone in voicing this thoughts. Jonathan Anderson, speaking to The New York Times concluded: 'People were very confused about what they were voting for. It's a nightmare'.
The fashion industry's reaction to the vote isn't a shock, as a poll conducted before the vote showed that 90% of the industry
supported the remain campaign.
