Shopcade's here today to teach you just how to keep your colour bright for the longest possible time, and how to keep your hair healthy once you've had it colour-treated.
Make sure your stylist uses a good quality colour
This is the first step to ensure good results. Do a little research on the brand your stylist uses to ensure that it is a reputable brand.
Avoid washing your hair for 48 hours after colouring
Leaving your hair unwashed for two days after having it coloured gives the colour time to set properly.
Use a the right shampoo and conditioner
Using a colour protect shampoo and conditioner is an absolute must! Don't get lax and use just any shampoo and conditioner—if you don't use one that's specially meant for coloured hair, your colour will wear off much faster. Plus, try to choose products that are sulphate-free.
Use cold water to wash your hair
Not only is this healthier for your hair itself, but it will also keep frizz at bay and keep your colour fresher for longer.
Deep condition your hair at least once a fortnight
Deep conditioning the hair keeps it healthy and nourished, and colour always looks better on healthy hair! Use a hair mask or hot oil treatment to do this.
