After reading all the negative comments on a snap of her swimsuit-clad silhouette against an ocean background, Gigi fired back "Having my body judged over the span of the four teen-to-woman years has really shown me the human tendency to label and make uneducated judgments. Your comment won't get me down, but next time, please think about the young women who may read body-judgment comments and judge themselves as they see their bodies growing and therefore naturally changing."
Body-shaming of any kind is cruel, and contributes to self-esteem issues and eating disorders. A lot of young ladies look up to Gigi, so it's inspiring to see her stand up and say that body-shaming is not OK, and to see other models like Tyra back her up.
Of course, we see much more widespread and insidious fat-shaming than skinny-shaming, especially in the fashion world, where even Gigi was considered "too curvy" for the catwalk. Every body is a good body, so show yours off in these cute suits!
