Fashion week has changed immensely since the days pre-social media. Remember “back in the day” when you had to wait for the collection to come out in stores before seeing it? Or seeing it in that season’s magazine editorials?
That was crazy right?! Now we can head to style.com (RIP) or whowhatwear.com to check out the latest on the runways, we can even watch some of the shows LIVE, you hear that? LIVE! Back in the day that kind of talk was unheard of and it’s crazy to see how far technology and fashion have come.
So what’s next? Tommy Hilfiger might have that answer. For the brand's AW16 runway presentation this upcoming Monday, February 15th, TH is bringing something new this NYFW and it’s unlike any thing that any other show has ever done.
Gone are the days that FROW is the best perk of being in a show, but rather say hello to the “Instapit”. That’s right, you know the “pit” at a concert or show where you’re right where the action is with the best view in the house? That’s what this is but on a fashion/front row level.
The “Instapit” is "a digitally-savvy approach to generating runway photography,” as the TH team says and will give viewers a chance to capture the looks on Instagram as they come down the runway. There’s arguments about whether technology has been good or bad for fashion and now that we have the “instapit”, what do you think?
No need for FROW spotting, it's all about the InstaPit!
