Dry or oily skin – get a scrub ASAP
if you don’t already own one Yes, we’re right. If your skin is too dry, it means you have a lot of dead skin you may want to get rid of. Similarly, acne-prone oily skin need more subtle scrubs to remove grime and penetrate oil to break down pore-clogging dead skin cells. However, it’s always a good idea to use scrubs with hydroxyl acids like glycolic or salicylic so it doesn’t cause breakout which we all dread, don’t we?!
No problem! Gritty scrubs are definitely off-limits, but most of you can benefit from a mild, short-contact exfoliating scrub, which isn’t very hard to find these days. After scrubbing, always a good idea to use a cool, wet washcloth in circular motions to loosen and sweep away dead skin cells. Trust us!
Have a normal skin, but still wondering why you need a scrub?
First of all, congratulations! You have a strong genetics game going on here, but the bad (read: good) news is you need a scrub more than anyone else. Normal usually means a combo of two — an oily T-zone and dry cheeks — which means you may want to invest in two different types of scrubs.
Have we mentioned yet… makeup sits better on an exfoliated skin as removing the dead skin from time to time enhances the skin's ability to absorb everything else (AKA makeup!).
