After its Delhi and Bengaluru editions, the Elle Carnival for a Cause set up camp in
Mumbai this past Sunday on 8th May—and it sure was a day of fun, frolic, and fashion!
The Elle Carnival for a Cause at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai, was held in collaboration
with the Ogaan Cancer Foundation. Proceeds went towards breast cancer patients at the
Tata Memorial Centre.
Who Was There
We spotted actresses Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, Shweta Salve, Gul Panag, former
Miss India Manasvi Mamgai, designers Nachiket Barve, Payal Khandwala, Sabyasachi,
Nishka Lulla, and Nikhil Thampi, and many more celebs.
What Were Shopcade’s Fav Fashion Trends?
Our absolute fav trend at the Elle Carnival was monochrome dressing!
Diana Penty sported summer casual in a plain white top with a grey maxi skirt, Sonakshi
Sinha dazzled us in all-white brunch-ready look, and Shweta Salve paired a white shirt
with a striped B&W skirt for a touch of style.
What Happened at the Event
The Carnival was a place for people to indulge in some super fun activities like getting
your handwriting expert, having your cards read by a tarot card expert, get nail art, have
their picture taken in a photo studio, and—of course—some retail therapy!
There were some gorgeous pieces by high-street designers like Christian Louboutin,
Chanel, and Louis Vuitton available for throwaway prices.
There were also sales on pieces by Indian designers like Tarun Tahiliani, Nachiketa Barve,
Gaurav Gupta, Namrata Joshipura, and more.
Sonakshi Sinha, who recently revealed that she has a passion for painting, donated one of
her pieces to the cause.
The silent auction for Sonam Kapoor’s Dolce & Gabbana bag was another exciting feature
of the day!
The room was filled with hit songs being belted out by artistes like Clayton and Freeman
Palmer while the attendees nursed refreshing summer cocktails courtesy of Grey Goose,
Sula, and Peroni.
Certainly sounds like a day you’d have wanted to be there for, amirite?
