Easter is just around the corner, daffodils are cropping up everywhere and- whisper it- your winter coat is now a tad too warm for your daily commute.
Spring has most definitely sprung, so naturally we’re looking ahead to summer and what we’ll be wearing for those long lazy days on the beach or getting trollied in the beer garden (no judgement).
Say hello to naughty nautical for SS15, the sleazy sailor’s more grown up, chic and cheeky sister. Sure there’s breton stripes aplenty, some fab espadrilles and cropped trousers, but this season it’s mixed with some lush lace detailing, faded denim, skintight bodycon and some statement accessories- yes I am talking about the Ann Summers sailor socks!
It’s all about how you pair things, so although these may scream fancy dress or boudoir role play, these teamed with a simple navy dress and pumps is a cute summer look akin to something you’d see Taylor Swift rocking.
Not convinced? OK, let’s take it down a few notches and focus on mixing and matching prints like our cover image here- the polkadot top teamed with the stripe skirt, red heels and clutch is a modern way to work nautical without fearing a captain’s salute from passer’s by.
Or if you just want a simple way to sample the trend, team your faded skinny jeans with a breton top, blazer and Aspinal's red mini Hepburn bag for a chic weekend away look.
